Welcome to the Hypothyroidism Family Kicking and Screaming

It’s the scariest thing to walk into a room and completely forget why I walked in there in the first place or to be driving somewhere and completely space out for a moment forgetting where I am headed. My brain fog is so terrible at times that I’ve literally broken down and cried. Making mental notes is the thing of the past. I am constantly writing myself my very own honey-do list.

Waking up in the morning and never knowing what to expect. I have to treat each day like it’s a new day.  Will I have enough energy today to pull myself out of bed? Will I have enough energy to do the must needed things that need to be done or to play with my children? I do know if I don’t pace myself then the following day I will be beyond exhausted. Having hypothyroidism gives me good days and bad days, but mainly I feel as if the world is slowly passing me by.

This is invisible chronic illness that people can’t see and certainly don’t understand. It really bothers me when people view me as just being fat and lazy.  Sometimes, I wish, I could wear a sign that says,” I’m sick”.

I realize people can’t understand because they are not living my life. This daily battle of brain fog, complete body fatigue, hair thinning, heart palpitations, extremely dry skin,   racing heart rate and aches and pains. It feels as if my bones actually ache on some days. If you can imagine that?

All the years that my doctors pushed anti-depressants down my throat and I refused each time. I am not depressed “I KEPT SHOUTING”!! There is something more going on with my body that apparently you don’t understand and don’t have the skill-set to understand or were they just greedy-money hungry liars who were trying to keep me uneducated where I would remain sick, in doing so their bottom dollar wasn’t affected because I had no choice but to keep coming back? Was that too harsh for me to say?

My anxiety isn’t a normal type of anxiety but what would you classify as a normal type of anxiety?  If my doctors at the time would of just did a complete thyroid panel and checked to see if my body was lacking anything then they would have seen that my body was completely out of whack. It was screaming to be healed!

Let’s not mention how my body overreacts to stress. Having hypothyroidism I already have a higher than normal cortisol levels that like to gather and remain at my waist. So this muffin top isn’t a regular muffin top it’s a cortisol collection crime zone. I just can’t handle any type of stress, period. That’s why I don’t keep many people in my life. I don’t have a ‘collection” of friends and I keep it this way to try to control this area of stress in my life that comes with ‘people”.  I kicked myself out of the “drama club”.

I really wish people would stop telling me it’s all in my head. It’s not. Yes, I look normal on the outside and I try to hide my condition with a fake smile on most days.

I’m certainly not anti-social or lazy but it certainly does seem that way when you are on the outside looking in.

Looking back on certain things that I’ve discovered over the years. One being that I can’t blame the memory loss solely on hypothyroidism because it could be a number of things that were beginning to develop or change in my body and being low on b12 was one thing that I found out that I was low on. After finding a good doctor whom listened to me and didn’t want to throw me in a padded room.  The initial blood work that was taken showed a number of deficiencies, food allergens and also thyroid antibodies. Slowly I began to tweak my supplements and my food to adjust and cater to my specific body needs.

So, I take each day as it comes. I understand that my health is in my hands and I am no longer healthy but with each day passing, I begin to get stronger, I am more aware and my friend, Knowledge is power. I listen to my body and I certainly don’t care what others think anymore. The loss of the old me was the beginning of a new me. My hypothyroidism has actually been a blessing in disguise because it has lead me on this journey of discovery and I truly understand what it means to have chronic pain and a chronic illness.

I want you, my readers, to find hope between the pages of all my books. I want you to know that you have power and always try to be positive.  By reading my books, if you find any of my books to be just “Average” and perhaps its not for you or what you needed please pass it on you may never know this could be someones else saving grace.

I love using wax tarts!  Store-bought wax melts and candles bad-for-you ingredients which are in the form of artificial fragrances and colorants and emits toxins into the air that are harmful to health when inhaled. Most are made using paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is bad because it is a petroleum by-product which emits toxins into the air that are harmful to health when inhaled. Other companies might use soy wax. Now this might seem somewhat healthier than the alternative to paraffin wax, but it’s not. Most of soy anything is made using genetically modified soy beans that have been treated with pesticides and herbicides.

This will make 12 tarts.

½ c. + 2 tbsp. coconut oil

1 oz. {by weight} beeswax

Essential oil{s} of choice

Instructions

Bring  two inches of water to a simmer over medium heat in a small saucepan that you will only use for making nonfood items. Cover the opening of the saucepan with a glass bowl to create a double boiler.

Put the coconut oil and beeswax in the glass bowl. Allow to heat, stirring occasionally, until completely melted.

Remove from the heat and thoroughly stir in essential oils.

Pour into mold and allow to cool until hardened {popping then in the refrigerator expedites this}.

To use, Please make sure you are safe and only place one in the proper bowl of a wax warmer and use the warmer as directed by the manufacturer.

3 Mineral Waters That Can Remove Aluminum from the Brain by PAUL FASSA

I found it very interesting and I wanted to share with my readers.

aluminumpoisoningheadThere has been a dramatic increase in neurological diseases linked to aluminum toxicity. The blood brain barrier doesn’t stop aluminum’s intrusion into our gray matter. Aluminum accumulates and remains in tissue that doesn’t have a rapid cellular turnover.

Apoptosis is the natural cell death and replacement process that occurs throughout the body, excluding cancer cells. Cancer cells keep reproducing and colonizing into tumors unless apoptosis is introduced or the cells are outright killed from chemical compounds, both natural and synthetic.

Aluminum accrues to toxic levels over time in slow apoptotic cell turnover tissues, such as bone matter, the heart and the brain. The brain and its associated nervous system is where diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, chronic fatigue and other neurological or auto-immune diseases manifest, including the complete autistic spectrum, from learning disorders to full blown autism.

There is no shortage of aluminum toxins in our environment. It’s in cookware, beverage containers, foil, cigarette smoke, cosmetics, antiperspirants, sunscreen, antacids, and those ubiquitous chemtrails that most ignore from which aluminum nanoparticles can be breathed into our lungs and routed directly into our blood or through the sinuses into our brains.

Aluminum is in all vaccines. Injecting aluminum bypasses the possibility of eliminating it through normal channels. Straight into the blood it goes to be carried into the brain and heart, adding to their accumulated aluminum toxicity loads.

According to Dr. Chris Exley, PhD, we have come into the aluminum age. Many trolling commentators love to explain how aluminum is the must common mineral on the planet and therefore it’s harmless. Dr. Exley has dedicated over two decades of his scientific life to researching aluminum toxicity. He calls the period of time from the early 20th Century to now the “Age of Aluminum.”

Before then, aluminum remained in the ground as the most abundant mineral in earth that hadn’t yet been mined. Dr. Exley claims mining aluminum and using it in so many ways corresponds to the marked increase of neurological diseases.

Dr. Chris Exley’s Message to the 2011 Vaccine Safety Conference

A key aspect of his conference delivery concerned helping vaccinated kids improve their neurological damage. Ironically, it involves the second most abundant mineral in mother earth – silica. Exley has put kids who had autism spectrum disorders or other neurological damage from vaccinations on a form of silica known as silicic acid with excellent results.

Silicic acid is basically oxygenated silica. Exley considers this the best and most bio-available way to get silica through the gut and into the blood, then into brain matter where it binds with the aluminum molecules and leads them out of brain cell tissue safely through the urine.

He had used a Malasysian mineral water called Spritzer on aluminum toxic children suffering from autism spectrum disorders with significant success. Aluminum is in almost all vaccines. Later he and his team had 15 Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients use that water at the same rate of one liter per day for 13 weeks.

Aluminum levels were lower by anywhere from 50 to 70 percent in all the subjects involved, and of the 15 AD patients, eight no longer deteriorated and three actually showed substantial cognitive increase. Perhaps coconut oil is better for reversing AD, but mineral waters high in Orthosilicic or ionic silicic acid will reduce aluminum toxicity in the brain to help ward off AD.

The more USA accessible mineral waters with similar levels of silicic acid to Spritzer, which can volvic-water-triopenetrate the blood-brain barrier, are Volvic and Fiji. My personal favorite is Fiji because it has the highest level of ionic suspended silica as silicic acid and is the least expensive. I’ve seen it in WalMart at $1.99 per liter.

Also, People’s Chemist Shane Ellison analyzed various water bottles and said Fiji water bottles are free of BPA and “its chemical cousins”. Others he rates highly as BPA free are Voss, Evian, and Smart Water.

The suggested protocol is at least five days consuming a 1.5 liter bottle of water daily. More is required for high levels of aluminum toxicity. Dr. Exley considers drinking the whole bottle within an hour as the most efficient method of detoxing aluminum from the brain.

fiji waterDr. Exley explains that there are three commercial bottled waters listing silica amounts as milligrams (mg) per liter on the bottle. Fiji has the highest amount of the three. Neither of us is affiliated with Fiji.

Silica mineral waters can be supplemented to help prevent dementia. Obviously it can also be used as an adjunct with pure cold pressed coconut oil to stop early onset Alzheimer’s or even reverse most of the symptoms after AD symptoms appear. More on coconut oil for Alzheimer’s can be found here.

Aluminum (Al) is passed out through the urine when one supplements silica sufficiently. It seems there’s little danger of taking too much, as long as adequate water is consumed and vitamin B1 and potassium levels are maintained.

More About Silica

Silica helps ensure collagen elasticity of all connecting tissues in the body, including tendons and cartilage. This reduces aches and pains and maintains your body’s flexibility. It has also been determined that high levels of blood serum silica keep arterial plaque from building and clogging blood vessels.

A major culprit for arterial plaque has recently shifted from cholesterol buildup to arterial calcification from serum calcium that is not absorbed as bone matter. It’s known that silica is an important part of building bone matter.

Without sufficient silica, magnesium, and vitamin K2, calcium doesn’t become part of bone matter and remains in the blood to potentially calcify in the soft tissue of inner artery walls and the heart.

Silica is vital for keeping strong bones and a healthy cardiovascular system. This qualifies silica as an essential anti-aging mineral that is much more than a skin deep beauty mineral. Other good sources of silica are the herb horsetail, cucumbers, and diatomaceous earth powder.

Although these three other sources are helpful for the recent aforementioned reasons, they lack the ionic suspension of silicic acid found in the mineral waters to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. I just found these other sources for ionic silica or silicic acid as well, here and here.

Hey, YOU Freaking Weirdo.

Hey, you freaking weirdo.

Yes, you.
YES. YOU.

The one who felt out of place most of their life. Who went through the motions living outside the box.  and you didn’t want to do what everyone else was doing because “that’s the way things are.”

Who kept searching in different circles of where to fit and still suffered through a considerable amount of agony.

Does this strike a chord with you, weirdo?

Who had people force feed us what to eat, what to think, how to dress, how to date, how to love, how to believe in false idolatries, how to make money, how to spend money.

“FORGET  THAT.” – is probably what you thought often, right? “And” you still keep on rolling never giving in , because it seemed easier to do that than go along with what others thought was the norm but you knew different. It was easier to be alone than loved by people based off misleading facts about you and you didn’t feel like you needed to spoon feed them to have them come to terms of who the real you is.

Because God forbid someone saw you as you, the real you without any mask(s) on!

>gasp<

Imagine what would happen if they asked your opinions on marriage, family, religion, government, the earth, history, theories and formal education? Would they fall down and die from the honesty? From your honesty? What were to happen if they secretly knew your love of politics, anime, comic-con, science fiction, fetishes, phobia’s, not wanting to follow the rules, and total non-dualistic views on life?

Imagine if they knew that every conversation you have with someone that half the time you find it an utter JOKE?  “and” how you are to thankful that as many times as you’ve rolled your eyes that they didn’t get stuck in they back of your head? ” and”  How you literally can’t take everything and everyone seriously — because, well freak, you don’t even take yourself too seriously!

Please know you aren’t alone.

There are so many weirdos out there who are living in a normal human being’s bodies. (Was that even proper English? I’m sure some stuck up asshole will correct me because they have nothing better to do)

Have I offended you?

If I did, you haven’t embraced your own weirdness enough and you take yourself way too seriously. That’s some deep rooted issues you may want to consider working deeply on.

Honestly. I’m bored. We all are.

We are so bored of the same! Something has to give. Why won’t you let that be you? It’s time to step out your comfort zone and tell your limitations to shut up.

Step out and shut up.
Step. Out. And. Shut. Up.

With love,
– Your #1 Weirdo

Kombucha for your Armpits: Super Easy & healthy Homemade Probiotic Deodorant

Kombucha for your Armpits!!!

I wanted to share a recipe out of my latest book, A Survivor’s Cookbook Guide to Kicking Hypothyroidism’s booty.  It all started when I came across an article on the Internet about how aluminum-based
antiperspirants may increase the risk for breast cancer, Alzheimer’s disease
and kidney disease. (Scientists noticed that dialysis patients who
had these high aluminum levels were more likely to develop dementia
too.) Our bodies are supposed to sweat. Sweat isn’t inherently stinky
either. In fact, it’s nearly odorless. The stench comes from bacteria that
break down from one of two types of sweat on your skin. Deodorant
advertisers have done a pretty neat job of convincing us that we’re disgustingly
smelly people who in fact need to be refined and save our
stinky selves by their products. We’ve been wonderfully brainwashed
into thinking sweating is a bad thing. Sweating from the heat, sweating
from exercise, and sweating from stress are all different, chemically
speaking. Stress sweat smells the worst. That’s because smelly sweat
is only produced by one of the two types of sweat glands called the
apocrine glands, which are usually in areas with lots of hair—like our
armpits, the groin area, and scalp. The odor is the result of the bacteria
that break down the sweat once it’s released onto your skin. Fun fact:
While women have more sweat glands than men, men’s sweat glands
produce more sweat.

No one can force you to become more aware of what you put on your body and what you put in your body. What you eat is just as important as what you put on your body. Adjusting your life, reading labels and catering to your specific health needs isn’t easy but it will benefit you in the long run. This is one of the smartest decisions that you can make. Not only will you start to look and feel better but think of the medical cost that you could be saving your future self.

Did you know that it takes 26 seconds for the chemicals in personal body care products to enter into your bloodstream?

Endocrine disruptors are tricky chemicals that play on our bodies. They increase production of certain hormones; decreasing production of others; imitating hormones; turning one hormone into another; interfering with hormone signaling; telling cells to die prematurely; competing with essential nutrients; binding to essential hormones; accumulating in organs that produce hormones. You can start avoiding these chemicals by starting with detoxifying your beauty routine.

Let’s talk about our under arms. I stopped using commercial deodorant quickly when I discovered all the harmful ingredients it has in it  and quite frankly aluminum chlorohdrate or aluminum zirconium found in commercial brands wasn’t something extra that I cared to willingly put on my skin. On my underarms no doubt where its so close to my breasts.

Frankly, it took several weeks for my body to get use to the non use of chemical loaded store bought deodorants. I didn’t enjoy feeling like I was plagued with BO for those weeks until my body became adjusted. If  you’ve tried homemade deodorants and they didn’t work at all  covering  up those stinky under arm pits of  yours. The odor is the result of the bacteria colonizing your in armpits.  Have you every thought about adding more bacteria?
Why not Kombucha for your armpits?

1 tbsp. cocoa butter
-1 tbsp. coconut oil
-1 tbsp. shea butter
-1 tbsp. beeswax
-2 1/2 tbsp. arrowroot powder
-1 tbsp. baking soda
-1/4 tsp. vitamin E oil
-10 drops essential oil of your choice
-2 capsules powdered probiotics

I like lavender or grapefruit or any citrus scent. men can use cypress/bergamot

Small mason jar with lid

This is a small recipe you can double our triple it if you’d like.

Mix baking soda and arrowroot together. Melt your coconut oil, shea butter, and cococ butter in 1 minutes intervals in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir during each interval. Mix all ingredients (the baking soda and arrowroot powder) with the oil. Pour into clean small mason jar. Add your essential oil and vitamin E to the mason jar; close with the lid. Give it a good shake to combine the essential oil with the other mixture. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes or the consistency of pudding, open capsules of probiotics and add powder to mixture. Stir with spatula quickly to combine. Allow to completely cool. It usually takes overnight.  I use my finger to scoop out what I need to rub on my underarms.

How to make your own Homemade All Natural Pumpkin latte Spiced Deodorant and Fall/Holiday Scents

Homemade Deodorant
I’ve been making my own deodorant for years.

Easy and simple Natural Ways to Make Your House Smell Like Autumn

dc4a0-christmas-stove-top-potpourri-2

Mother Nature paints this beautiful landscape of rich golden enchanting colors. The sound of leaves crackling benefit my feet as I take a deep breath of the fresh air crisp. My soul begins to feel the renewed harmony from the hot hazy, hustle and bustle days of summer. In the distance, I hear the gabble of a flock of geese all lined up in perfect formation beginning to head south for the winter. The smell of fall scented candles and Friday night football games let’s not fail to forget the fun of tailgating. I have many fond memories of laughing around a bonfire, and staying toasty while enjoying a night out with friends. I just love the way my oversized sweater snugs my skin and the warm pumpkin latte keeps my belly warm. Fall is one of the most packed holiday seasons. This is a season to be truly thankful, and to simply surround yourself with friend and family that are dear to your heart. Falls scents make me think of Pumpkin spice lattes, gingerbread men, cinnamon and citrus flavors.

I love when guests come over and say , “Mmm! Your house smells so clean and  inviting”! “What’s your secret?” It’s really not that hard to get your house to smell wonderfully delicious. Sometimes it’s because I’ve been baking, and other times it’s because I have a pot simmering on the stove.

Autumn is a the beginning of a perfect season to start making your own scents for your  home. You can impress your friends and family  while creating a healthy all natural fall scents that are warm, comforting and cozy.

After I started researching on my journey to heal my hypothyroidism. I was stunned by  how these delightful and sometimes very expensive scents were so toxic to our bodies.

These products are often filled with  carcinogenic chemicals and other harmful toxins which can have an affect on our breathing, our hormones and our brain.

Look at some of the common chemicals found in air fresheners:

Acetaldehyde – This chemical with a deceptively innocuous fruity odor is a known carcinogen.

Benzaldehyde – Classified by United States Environmental Protection Agency as a hazardous substance, this chemical smells of almond oil.

1,3-Dichloro-2-propanol – A strong-smelling chemical known to cause kidney and liver cancers.

1,4-Dichlorobenzene – Another carcinogen with a strong smell that can mask other odors by numbing our sensory receptors.

Methyl pyrrolidone – featured on the list of Chemicals Known to the State to Cause Cancer or Reproductive Toxicity according to the California Proposition 65.

Add to these to a petroleum-based solvents and fake fragrances, and now we are talking about a potent concoction of cancer- causing substances, least not fail to mention their role in causing neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Stove Top Classic’s

Pots that are simmering on the stove or using your crock pot are really easy ways to  make your home smell wonderfully amazing. it’s pretty simple. All you need to do is grab a pot, fill it with 2 cups of water, bring to a boil then add the ingredients that make up your favorite Autumn scents. I would let the pot simmer gently on the stove and adding more water when needed. Before you know it, the scent will fill be filled throughout your entire house.

Here are a few combinations of fall scents that you can play around with until you find your favorite.

Non Toxic Fall Candle Scents

Everyone should have some warm and inviting candles. They are a nice way to make your home fell warm and cozy throughout the cool Fall and cold Winter months. Why not make you own all natural and safe scented candles? These super easy mason jar candles contains beeswax along with , essential oils such as cinnamon, vanilla and clove.

Cinnamon Spiced Candle

Supplies:

Instructions:

Ok you will need to start by melting your wax.  Melt  2 cups of  wax and this will make 2 candle jars. Melt one cup of wax at a time and microwave for two minutes.  Continue microwaving at 1 minute intervals until melted.  Next add the other cup of wax to the container and  microwave in one minute intervals until it is all melted.  It normally take about me about 5 minutes total.  (make sure you never use the same measuring glass that you use for your food. I have one that I use just for candle making.

Next start to prepare your candle wick while you wax is melting.  Wrap the end of the wick around a wood skewer or pencil and balance the skewer on the top of the jar-this holds the wick in place while your candle is setting. Make sure the metal end of the wick is resting on the bottom of the jar.

When the wax is completely melted add vanilla and spices, mixing well with a skewer.

Gently and slowly pour the wax mixture into your two jars, adjusting your wick necessary. Sometimes the wick likes to move, this is when you need to adjust it back into place.  Let the candles to set for 4-5 hours until firm.

Why do I use beeswax instead of other products.

Beeswax candles: Natures natural air purifier

Pure beeswax candles are healthy.  Beeswax candles produces negative ions that actually clean your air of odors, pollen, smoke, dust, dust mites, viruses, asthma, allergies, and hay fever!  Bee-wax candles leave your indoor air fresher and cleaner. Many air purifiers and water filters harness this effective negative ion technology.  They are the only candle for anyone with chemical sensitivities or allergies.

When you increase the negative ions in the air. Your mood improves and it gives you a  sense of wellness.

With increased negative ions, studies how shown that it :

  • Improves sleep
  • Enhances immune system
  • Relief from hay fever & allergies
  • Proven to lessen asthma related symptoms
  • Improves air quality
  • Improves concentration
  • helps to balancing  hormones
  • Its’ a natural detoxification

Sneaky labeling on beeswax candles

A candle may be labeled “beeswax” if it contains as little as 10% beeswax – the remaining ingredients is most likely paraffin. watch out for  “natural” labels.  If the label doesn’t say “100% beeswax” or “pure beeswax”, it almost certainly is not.

Insist on 100% Pure Beeswax. The natural choice.

The problem with paraffin candles

“Regular candles,” are made from paraffin wax, a by-product of petroleum refining. The result? A highly toxic (and environmentally unfriendly) product that literally poisons the air you breathe.

Paraffin wax is the  sludge at the bottom of the barrel of crude oil.  Then the “Chemists” mix in toxic concoctions of colors and fragrances to make this waste product appealing to us consumers! These candles when burned release eleven documented toxins –two of which are carcinogenic.  Have you seen the black soot stains left on your walls, ceilings, furniture, and drapery.  These toxic tiny particles are easily inhaled and may cause respiratory irritation in your lungs. The American Lung Association has issued a warning against breathing the eleven documented toxins (two of which are carcinogenic) that are released, along with soot, when a paraffin candle burns.

Bake your pine cones in the oven at 200F for one hour. Sprinkle drops of essential oils on the cones, seal and shake. Leave in bag for at least one week.

We all know the most common scent for pine cones is cinnamon. But you can use any these essential oil scents , or even mix some together.
