Writing This BOOK Put a Target on my Back

By writing this book, I probably put a target on my back and will certainly encounter a deep well of resentment from many sides of the spectrum.

It is criminal and dare I say genocide what the food industry is doing to us. The FDA sits backs and allows this to happen.  Our bodies are now a chemical dumping ground for the food industry and we need to wake up! These chemicals mimic our very own hormones and start to rearrange our bodies ‘ chemistry.  We are not asking enough questions and not demanding change therefore, we are allowing our very own toxic environment to be created, both external and internal, which none of us will be able to escape.

With all of Monsanto’s biochemical wizardry, one would think that they could find another way to create pesticides besides dumping estrogen-mimicking carcinogens onto the world’s food supply. Next on their agenda is artificial meat and it may be the “meat of the future”, maybe the only meat?

The pure stupidity and lack of basic human compassion involved in all of this illness and moneymaking are astounding. It is very important to understand that we have ended up in this mess for many reasons. Some of these people do believe they are doing what is best for humanity then you have the ones who simply do not give a damn how they are ultimately destroying what it is to be human and you certainly should never underestimate how low these people will go to gain profit off our health dismay. Americans are just in one big petri dish that seems to be poisoned, and controlled like lab rats.

It is very frustrating when you have doctors and scientists who try to help their patients and the government bureaucracies, private and secretive foundations who do everything in their power to block the science. They are sabotaging us deliberately and the real research controlled.

Accidents seem created more intentionally to murder people who are speaking out where it looks like a plausibly deniable manner – it is just a standard operating procedure for the Our Military Intelligence complex. When you start speaking out and against what is happening you become the Enemy of the State.

The ones controlling the narrative will do anything to discredit, dismantle, and destroy anything or anyone who begins to stand in their way. There are higher powers that are controlling the narrative and they are brainwashing all of us. This whole thing seems a bit sick and twisted. These people need to own and control every aspect of our lives. Anything that goes into your body or on your body they want to control.  Every thought, every breath, every bite of fake food, medication, vaccine, environmental chemicals, household chemicals, and fluoridated water. They have pulled the wool over our eyes to blind us from the truth. We have been guinea pigs for the entire industry far too long. Our fabric of what it means to be human appears torn at the core.

Our society systematically learned social conditioning while passively adjusting to indoctrination that they seem too randomly if ever think out of the box.

Congress, large corporations that donate funding, the power elite, insurance companies, big pharma, and our lobbyist all play a major part.  We are in a baseball game, where we the American people are in the last inning of the World Series, and we are up one run but all of their bases loaded with the other team. The American people are like the pitcher on the mound. We are stuck in classic doubt. We seem to be saying to ourselves,” Can I make this Pitch?”

Due to outrageous political influences on medicine and government policy, the vast majority of patients will not be able to receive the correct diagnoses. Correct diagnosis is vital in obtaining the correct treatment too.

Marketing, misconceptions, miss-information, “buying doctors”, outright lies and even conspiracy by pharmaceutical companies throughout the world have led to the unsuspecting public taking billions of pills that do not help us and may even harm us.

High blood pressure, high cholesterol, premenstrual syndrome, ADD/ADHD, pre-diabetes, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, hormone replacement, and other “diseases” are really “symptoms, not diseases.” So how did they get to be diseases and produce billions of dollars in drug sales to treat them?

How does that happen? Doctors, medical schools, clinical journals, and even the FDA employees are all dependent on pharmaceutical company dollars and that leads to journal articles that are “ghost-written” by big pharma employees, sent to physicians who “assume” that they are true and disseminated by pharma reps whose considerable income and continued employment depend on convincing doctors to write more of their product.

Just in the last few hundred years what we call modern medication has become a reality for us. You see nutrition history came to life within the context of World Wars, Famines, Politics, and individuals dedicated to saving lives but the idea of nutritional theorizing began, like most everything, with the ancient Greeks. Hippocrates (ca. 460 BCE–370 BCE) is often credited with developing the theory of the four senses of humor—blood, yellow bile, black bile, and phlegm—and their influence on the body. Galen’s understanding of anatomy and medicine influenced primarily by Hippocrates’s theory of bodily humor in the second century CE, in which these teachings lasted for centuries. Most of us seem educated by certain facts from our doctors, scientists, pharmaceutical researchers, our government, and other organizations that have gathered and created data that presented to us throughout our lives to convince us that what we see is truthful.

We all are going to die. There is no way to achieve immortality. However, if you take effort to improve your health by eating clean food, drinking clean water, also by doing detox cleansing to remove the many thousands of toxins we are exposed to in our modern society then you will be able to optimize your health and be more resistant to any kind of disease.  Our body has the ability to heal any attack but what is missing from the narrative is we have to actually take care of our body. We cannot continually put poison in our body and think it will be ok. We must be aware of what we are eating. They say, “You are what you eat”. That is true in every aspect of the phrase.  We must stop putting these poisons in our body where we can recognize our full health potentials.

After becoming critically ill with a “so-called” long-term condition. I healed myself with research, knowledge, and courage (induced by our toxic food, metal loaded toxic vaccines, a chemically enhanced water system, and current “health” care system practice); it has become even more important to me to spread the word about how dispensable we are to our capitalistic culture.

We should not be startled when we see a decline in our health because it is completely predictable with all the manipulations with viruses being made to our DNA. Besides the fake foods, toxic medications, and the poisons that are in our environment along with the crap we slather on our body.

We can always place the blame of our demise at the feet of those who are guilty but somewhere, somehow we must take the responsibility.  Sure, we trusted those who were supposed to be trusted. The deep fake state establishment cares zero about the well-being of the American people. We are just animals with price tags stapled to our ears. You can be the smartest person in the room but still, people will not listen. Humans are undermining their very own existence.

If we do not find a balance between the conservation of nature and the flourishing of humans, there will not be a future on this earth for us. We have taken nature for granted and so arrogantly at that.  I have spent a lot of time making small changes in my life over the last few years to try to avoid chemicals that these large companies expose us to increase their profits. This book opened my eyes to so much more than what I had already researched on my own. I have listed many resources, books to read, and videos in this book for you to seek more education. Never take anyone’s word for granted.  You must find the truth yourself.  This book has been extensively researched and referenced.

I am not here to argue with an unbeliever or persuade anyone to agree with my hypothesis but the truth appears written not only by me but also by other people.  Many will have a difference of opinion but that does not mean we all will have a difference of principle.

So, what happens when we become sick?

We need treatments, medications, and procedures. Which all of these add to that price tag stapled to our ears. That hidden barcode on our forehead.

There once was a land where happiness, health & prosperity flourished. People lived with the earth. The earth flourished and so did the humans who lived on it.

The Connection between Food and Autoimmune disorders

Your body’s immune response is a marvelous defense system. It protects against foreign invaders, injury, and infection through a complex communication system between your body’s cells and the chemical signals they produce. If you have an healthy immune system, this communication is clear and specific; the body can tell the difference between a foreigner and itself.

An autoimmune disease is any condition where a person’s immune system has a abnormal immune response and mistakenly attacks along with damaging its own bodily tissues.  This leaves the immune response is flawed, and the communication system breaks down where it can’t distinguish the body’s tissues from foreign cells.

Close to 24 million (7%) people in the United States are affected by an autoimmune disease and scientists have identified more than 80 clinically distinct autoimmune diseases.

Autoimmunity is the No. 2 cause of chronic illness, according to the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA), a nonprofit health agency dedicated to increasing awareness of autoimmune diseases. Autoimmune diseases can affect nearly every part of the body.

There was a study done by  The Multiple Autoimmune Disease Genetics Consortium (MADGC) in 1999. In this study, they describe a unique collection of 65 families comprising 300-400 individuals.  To qualify, a family must have at least two of the eight autoimmune diseases chosen for the study.  These core diseases include rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), type 1 diabetes (T1D), multiple sclerosis (MS), autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto thyroiditis or Graves disease), juvenile RA, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis), psoriasis, and primary Sjögren syndrome. The main objective was to see if they could identify genes that several autoimmune diseases have in common.

The researchers followed these families around for 5 years and taking detailed histories through mailings and office visits, researchers hope to get some idea of pertinent environmental factors, and which ones appear to be most relevant to which genetic profiles. Factors likely to be scrutinized include infectious and noninfectious agents, drugs, vaccines, food, dietary supplements, organic solvents, ultraviolet light, stress and stressful life events, and occupational exposures.  They found there was a common between autoimmunity and inflammation that couldn’t be ignored. Inflammation helped to set the stage per say for everything else to fall into place. You certainly dont have to study tens and tens of thousands of people to see an association with an environmental factors.

So, what is the connection between Food and Autoimmunity. There is this big lie that we have all got stuck in and we are not looking at the most obvious solution.

All of this abuse on our bodies is disrupting our body’s normal rhythms and being able to function properly.  There is scientific evidence available that support the effectiveness of the AIP diet in the management and treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Food is thy medicine, right?
Actually, it can work one of two ways. Food can be thy medicine or food can be thy death. Food affects your gut health and along with increasing or decreasing the inflammation in your body. Unfortunately, our western world diet is full of foods that have a bad impact on both your gut, inflammation and immunity. The truth is the foods that we are consuming are creating an epidemic of illness in America.  We are actually nutrient starved and very malnourished.  American’s are suffering from over consumption of refined oils, refined grains and these processed food like food products. The typical American Standard diet lacks nutrients that are absolutely essential for good health.

Your gut is your portal to health. It houses 80 percent of your immune system, and without your gut being healthy it is practically impossible to have a healthy immune system.  A properly working digestive system (your gut) is vital to your health.

Did you know that your gut is the largest component of your immune system? Around 1,000 different species of bugs live in your gut. Your gut has been linked to contributing to weight loss and for overall improvement of numerous symptoms, including depression, anxiety, brain fog, skin problems, hormonal issues, immune weaknesses, digestive problems, fatigue and of course the elephant in the room; Autoimmune disorders.

Inflammation is one of the common traits of an autoimmune disease. You must eliminate the foods that may be causing inflammation in the gut.

Think about what you’re putting in your body. Either you’re fighting disease or feeding disease. You must get a concept of nutrient density.  Gluten, dairy and soy products create inflammation in the digestive tract. If you have inflammation in the digestive system undigested proteins leak into the blood stream creating a heightened immune reaction that often makes issues worse and can lead to a leaky gut which causes other problems.

The autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet is designed to help reduce inflammation in the body to relieve symptoms of autoimmune disorders. The AIP diet is also based on a belief that autoimmune conditions are caused by a “leaky gut”, which is medically now referred to as altered intestinal permeability. Which is when undigested proteins leak into the blood stream creating a heightened immune reaction.

We are all individuals and each one of us are unique with our own metabolic and nutrition efficiency needs. There are many different AIP diets and many wonderful books to purchase or you could merely do you own research online.

The Keto AIP-

Foods to potentially avoid include grains, soy, lectins,  legumes, dairy, all processed foods, refined sugars, fake sugars, industrial seed oils, eggs, nuts, seeds, nightshade vegetables, gum, alternative sweetener, emulsifiers, and food thickeners.  It focuses on keeping your blood sugar in check along with clean eating, low GI fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, hormone- free high quality meats.

(I am currently following the Keto Autoimmune Protocol)

The Keto Autoimmune Protocol Healing Book for Women: Strengthen Your Immunity, Fight Inflammation and Love Your Incredible Body

The paleo Diet-

Foods to potentially avoid include grains, legumes, dairy, processed foods, refined sugars, industrial seed oils, eggs, nuts, seeds, nightshade vegetables, gum, alternative sweetener, emulsifiers, and food thickeners.

The anti-inflammatory diet-

This is much similar to the Mediterranean diet. it focuses only anti-inflammatory foods like fish, olive oils, fruits, vegetables, legumes,  nuts and seeds.

A plant-based diet-

This diet is plant based. It focuses strongly on vegetables, fruits, nuts , seeds, healthy oils, legumes and beans.

A glute-free diet-

Gluten is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and a cross between wheat and rye.  It focuses on avoiding gluten which is found in many foods.

They all  have common threads, specific dietary changes need to be tailored to the person. There is no one size fits all.  Life isn’t a 1 size fits all solution.  Each one of us are unique and we are biochemically individually wired and what works for one person may not work for another. We are extremely complex and each person should be valued independently. My reason for having a leaky gut, inflammation and an autoimmune disorder might not be your reason. Each day we encounter is different for each of us. Every Cell in your body responds to the foods you eat, the products you put on your body to the house hold chemicals that you purchase for your home. No matter which one you decide to try

By eating nutrient-rich foods and avoiding inflammatory ones, the AIP diet aims to heal any holes in the gut.
Resets the immune system
Prevent the autoimmune response
Reduce symptoms of autoimmune diseases
Prevent the occurrence of secondary autoimmune diseases
People who do the AIP diet should follow it strictly for a few weeks and then slowly reintroduce foods that they have avoided.
The idea is to see if there is a reaction when the food is reintroduced. If there is a reaction, the suggestion is that a person should exclude this food from their diet long-term.

Did you know that the vagina is an absorbent organ?

organic cotton

Did you know that the vagina is an absorbent organ? “The vagina is a mucus membrane and organic tampons and pads seem to be the latest trend. Chemophobia has sweep over the feminine hygiene aisle and it’s a multi-billion dollar organic industry. The U.S. organic market is big business with over $43.3 billion in sales in 2015.

No only is your overall health and well-being affected by what foods you consume but it’s also affected by stress, environmental endocrine disrupting chemical’s (EDC), lotions and potions you apply to your body,  medications and many other factors.

Most of the pads and tampons on the market have been bleached with chlorine and the cotton has been sprayed with a Pesticide-residue. Chlorine leads to a toxic byproduct called dioxin, which is linked to cancer as it’s a known carcinogen and endometriosis. Dioxin can also be found in the air, water, and ground. Let me not fail to mention the toxic heavy metal dyes that could be on the on the cord of your tampon.

The FDA oversees tampons and considers them a class II medical device (some pregnancy test kits and contact lenses are also considered class II medical devices). There are three classes of medical devices—class I, class II, and class III—and class I devices are considered the lowest risk (dental floss is a class I device, for example). Class II devices are higher-risk than class I and “require greater regulatory controls to provide reasonable assurance of the device’s safety and effectiveness,” the FDA says, noting that condoms are classified as Class II devices.

If you’re already on the organic, eating clean and pesticide free, band wagon: inserting unnecessary chemicals in your vagina should spark some sort of interest.

As I further investigate, I’ve found that Organic tampons are not entirely pesticide-free.  The crops are sprayed with a insecticide application.

The FDA considers cotton as a food crop even if its going to be used for textile purposes. Code of Federal Regulations: Title 21: Food and Drugs, Part 172 that “cottonseed products may be used for human consumption.”

There are many products used by women that have Both BPA and phthalates in them such as odor control items, soaps, body washes, douches, pre-moistened wipes, towelettes,  powders and deodorant sprays. What do all these daily used items have in common? They all are “endocrine disruptors.” Endocrine disruptors are the nasty little chemicals that interfere with the body’s endocrine system and produce adverse developmental, reproductive, neurological, and immune destroying side effects.

Are organic tampons necessarily better than the “traditional” non-organic ones you’ve been using since you started menstruating?  The FDA’s regulations are the same regardless if it’s organic or conventional tampons/pads and they both have same level of absorbency. If the tampons you’re using has a plastic applicator it will contain phthalates in that plastic so why not use a tampon that has a non plastic applicator?  If you find that you have a burning sensation or itchy when using conventional  tampons that can be caused by an allergic reactions to the fragrances; why not switch to a fragrance free brand?  If you want to completely eliminate all soaps, perfumes and fragrances that are used in most brands, find a brand that doesn’t have any of these things in them even if its going to a organic brand. No need to worry about  Toxic Shock Syndrome  which is a rare, life-threatening bacterial condition that were linked to super absorbency tampons, and the FDA has stopped manufacturers from making those anyways. There is such a thing called Toxic Shock Sydrome and you should change out your tampons every two hours never ever leave them in longer than 8 or you will have a chance of getting TSS.  Since the late 1990’s they are now using a type of   chlorine-free bleaching process for all tampons organic or conventional  but even with that process a small level of the dioxin hazard can be even found  in all tampons even 100% cotton ones.

My take on all of this is; it’s really a personal decision. If you are still bombarding your body with these over the counter Endocrine disruptors that women use in everyday products whats the use of trying to use organic tampons and pads? If you are making your own products, clean eating and are aware of the things that you stick in your body and on your body then YES, Organic tampons and pads could be the new route for you to consider.  I’ve found some organic pads at Target the other day for the same price as the name brand pads that I’ve been using ( $6.99). I grabbed a pack and I like them.

One or two big arrows will kill you just like a thousand tiny ones.

There are period alternatives for people who prefer not using pads or tampons.

Period panties, menstrual cups, sea sponges, washable reusable Cloth Pads and Beppy Sponges.

No, I am not making any profit off this link.

The Role of Food in Your Hypothyroidism Journey

Your really never know the true role the food industry has in your journey.

Have you ever stopped to think what the underlying reason why you have hypothyroidism?

Many different underlying reasons can play a role. We do know that hypothyroidism is a chronic condition of an underactive thyroid and affects millions of Americans. Environmental chemicals and toxins, pesticides, BPA, thyroid endocrine disruptors, iodine imbalance, other medications, fluoride, overuse of soy products, cigarette smoking, and gluten intolerance. All of these play a very important role in your thyroid health. A nonprofit group called Beyond Pesticides warns that some 60 percent of pesticides used today have been shown to affect the thyroid gland’s production of T3 and T4 hormones. Commercially available insecticides and fungicides have also been involved. Even dental x-rays have been linked to an increased risk of thyroid disorders.

Hypothyroidism means what exactly?

Hypothyroidism means your thyroid is not making enough thyroid hormone. Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the front of your throat. It makes the hormones that control the way your body uses energy. Basically, our thyroid hormone tells all the cells in our bodies how busy they should be. Our bodies will go into overdrive with too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) and our bodies slow down with too little thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism). The most common causes of hypothyroidism worldwide is dietary and environmental. The most common cause of hypothyroidism is dietary and environmental! What does that mean exactly? That means you need to be eat to cater to your thyroid and stop using all these harmful chemicals to clean your home with and put on your body! It’s not hard. Yes, a little adjustment will be needed but isn’t everything we do in life for the better of our health worth a little inconvenience until it becomes a habit?

“You must realize that the thyroid has a relationship with all the hormones. It’s a very complex balance and there is no straight forward treatment of just treating your thyroid alone. 1st you must make sure your adrenal glands are in total support. Adrenal fatigue is a very common amongst people with hypothyroidism.  Next you have to get your cortisol levels stabilized. Having hypothyroidism your cortisol levels are already above average. Next finding the right medication for you. Everyone is different it isn’t an easy one size fits all task.”

One cannot think well, love well, and sleep well if one has not dined well.

—Virginia Woolf 1882-1941, A Room of One’s Own

A diet for hypothyroidism should include whole foods rich in iodine:

whole baked organic potatoes with skin, cod, dried seaweed, shrimp, Himalayan crystal salt, baked turkey breast, dried prunes, navy beans, tuna, boiled eggs, lobster, cranberries, and green beans. Niacin-rich foods (required for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are tuna, chicken, prunes, bananas, turkey, salmon, sardines, and brown rice.

Riboflavin-rich foods:

Raw almonds, eggs, mushrooms, sesame seeds, salmon, and tuna.

Zinc: (as well as vitamins B6, C, and E, iodine) is a major component of thyroid hormone balance and is antimicrobial. Zinc-rich foods (boost thyroid function) are white cooked button mushrooms, chickpeas, kidney beans, dark chocolate (70 percent or higher), pumpkin, squash seeds, and almonds.

Selenium-rich foods: (helps to convert T-4 to T-3) are Brazil nuts and tuna.

High-polyphenols foods: (acts as an anti-fungal) are cocoa powder, dark chocolate, coffee, tea, flaxseed meal, red raspberries, blueberries, black currants.

Vitamin B6–rich foods: (required for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are raw unsalted sunflower seeds, quinoa, raw pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, flaxseeds, pistachio nuts, cashews, tuna, halibut, salmon, dried prunes, bananas, avocados,  dried apricots, and raisins.

Vitamin C–rich foods: (boost thyroid gland function) are bell peppers, dark leafy greens, kiwis, broccoli, berries, citrus fruits, tomatoes, peas, and papayas.

Riboflavin-rich foods: (or vitamin b2—essential for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are frozen peas, beets, crimini mushrooms, eggs, asparagus, almonds, and turkey.

Vitamin E–rich foods: (work with zinc and vitamin A to produce thyroid hormone) are raw almonds, shrimp, avocados, quinoa, salmon, extra-virgin olive oil, and cooked butternut squash.

See you are NOT limited to what you can eat with hypothyroidism. You have many options to what you can eat and why you need to be eating this. Here are more foods and YES you may read repeats from the paragraph above but I want you to see what an abundance of foods that you can eat. The only limit you have in the kitchen is your imagination. My recipes are a starting point. You can start to creating your favorite recipes and healing your thyroid as you eat! Your diet is part of the solution.

Fatty fish like wild salmon, trout, halibut, cod, albacore tuna, flounder, cod or sardines (omega-3s and selenium) only a few times per week….

Today’s America is over processed, malnourished, dumbed down and slowly being poisoned.

Slowly Poisoned

As consumers we put our trust in the research and development of scientific studies, The FDA and  The CDC. Drug store chains have quota’s to meet and even some of our Doctors get yearly bonus’s. Little do we do that behind closed doors corporations often pay scientists and these companies to  support their product for profit.  Some Politicians seem to have a revolving door between the private and public sector.  The synthetic chemicals we face everyday that is in our food, our water, and  the air that we breathe . Let’s not forget about our vaccines. I am not writing this article to dispute with you about vaccines. You need to do your own research and see if its for you and your family. I am trying to show you how every action has a reaction. It’s not just one thing that can be detrimental it is a combo of things combined. What we eat, drink, inject ( vaccines)  and have in our homes has a direct impact on our health.  I bet , you didn’t know that the government has imposed gag orders on the National Weather Service (NWS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) who might easily refute the ridiculous claims of NASA. Let’s hope that they don’t put a “gag” order on me!

Did you know that we’re exposed to a cocktail of chemicals from our food on a daily basis,” says Michael Crupain, M.D., M.P.H., director of Consumer Reports’ Food Safety and Sustainability Center. For instance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that there are traces of 29 different pesticides in the average American’s body. “It’s not realistic to expect we wouldn’t have any pesticides in our bodies in this day and age, but that would be the ideal,” says Crupain. “We just don’t know enough about the health effects.”

What’s the evidence that pesticides hurt your health?

A lot of the data comes from studies of farmworkers, who work with these chemicals regularly. Studies have linked long-term pesticide exposure in this group to increased risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease; prostate, ovarian, and other cancers; depression; and respiratory problems. There’s some suggestion that adults and children living in farm communities could also be at risk for chronic health problems.

In a 2010 report on environmental cancer risks, the President’s Cancer Panel (an expert committee that monitors the country’s cancer program) wrote: “The entire U.S. population is exposed on a daily basis to numerous agricultural chemicals. Many of these chemicals have known or suspected carcinogenic or endocrine-disrupting properties.” Endocrine disruptors can block or mimic the action of hormones, even at low doses. “Endocrine effects aren’t sufficiently factored into the EPA pesticide-tolerance levels,” Crupain says. “And there’s concern they could cause reproductive disorders; birth defects; and breast, prostate, and other hormone-related cancers.”

Have you ever heard of the term “dirt Poor”? The high demand to grow bigger, faster with a variety of new of new crops that provide a greater yield, more pest resistance and climate adaptability has also  left our soil stripped of nutrients that is needed in the soil.

Chronic illnesses are now so common, having a sick child seems to be the “new normal.”Children are supposed to be vibrant, healthy, free of disease.” – Janet Levatin MD, Pediatrician.

1. GMO Foods

Monsanto started as a chemical company that brought the world poisons like Agent Orange and Roundup. Now they are more well known for their domination of Genetically Modified agriculture, owning nearly 90% of staple GMO crops such as corn, soy, and cotton. In independent studies GMO “frankenfood” has been linked to organ failure, and a recent Russian study has concluded near-total sterility in GMO-soy-fed hamsters by the third generation.

2. Food Additives

When most of us think of harmful food additives we think of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) which is still in many processed foods, but unfortunately MSG appears to be the least of the poisons now found in our food. In 2008 Melamine was found in infant formula and some food products from China; the FDA went on record to say it was OK, despite sickening tens of thousands.  Dangerous food additives appear in nearly all processed foods with even the most common food dyes Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 being linked to cancer.  Most recently 92,000 pounds of frozen chicken was recalled because it contained “blue plastic pieces,” while McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets have been found to have “silly putty” chemicals in them.  In fact, some researchers estimate that today’s chicken is so full of chemicals that it only contains 51% actual meat.

3. Fluoride

Not all fluoride is bad; only the type promoted by dentistry and added to our water and food supply.  Calcium fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral, while its synthetic counterpart, sodium fluoride (silicofluoride), is an industrial-grade hazardous waste material made during the production of fertilizer.  Its past history includes patented use as rat poison and insecticide.   There are many blind- and double-blind studies that show sodium fluoride has a cumulative effect on the human body leading to allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, bone weakening, cancer, and neurological problems.  In this case, the EPA’s Union of scientists issued a white paper condemning fluoridation of drinking water.  However, as a hazardous waste, it is extremely expensive to dispose of as such.  And here might be a clue as to why this chemical, more toxic than lead and almost on par with arsenic, has been disposed of for our consumption.

Homemade Tooth Powder Recipe

Ingredients

Directions

Using a stainless steel or plastic spoon, mix all ingredients in a clean glass jar. To use, add a little to a wet toothbrush and brush as normal.

Natural Peppermint Toothpaste

1/2 cup coconut oil

3 Tablespoons of baking soda

15 drops of peppermint food grade essential oil

Melt to soften the coconut oil. Mix in other ingredients and stir well. Place your mixture into small glass jar. Allow it to cool completely. When ready to use just dip toothbrush in and scrape small amount onto bristles.

4. Mercury

A dangerous heavy metal in its natural quicksilver form, but more so as the neurotoxin, methylmercury, released into the environment by human activity.  In both organic and inorganic form, mercury wreaks havoc with the nervous system — especially the developing nervous system of a fetus.  It penetrates all living cells of the human body, and has been documented most as increasing the risk for autism.  This calls into question mercury’s use in dental fillings, vaccines, and just about anything containing high fructose corn syrup — a near staple in the American diet . . . including baby food.  But the Corn Refiners Association naturally supports this chemical that is “dangerous at any level.”

5. Aspartame

The king of artificial sweeteners was allowed to the market in 1981 when the U.S. Commissioner of Food and Drugs, Arthur Hull Hayes, overruled FDA panel suggestions, as well as consumer concerns.  Aspartame is a neurotoxin that interacts with natural organisms, as well as synthetic medications, producing a wide range of proven disorders and syndromes.  So who installed this commissioner that would rule against scientists and the public?  Donald Rumsfeld, CEO of G.D. Searle; the maker of Aspartame.  Rumsfeld was on Reagan’s transition team, and the day after Reagan took office he appointed the new FDA Commissioner in order to “call in his markers” with one of the most egregious cases of profit-over-safety ever recorded.  Aspartame is now nearly ubiquitous, moving beyond sugarless products and into general foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and even products for children.  It recently has been renamed to the more pleasant sounding AminoSweet.

6. Personal Care and Cleaning Products

Everyday household items and cosmetic products are applied directly to the skin, absorbed through the scalp, and inhaled.  The Story of Cosmetics uses an animated video to tell a haunting tale of industrial violations and complicit “public safety” groups . . . and still only tells half of that story.   The list of common products and their chemical components is encyclopedic.  The sum total of the overwhelming presence of these chemicals has been linked to nearly every allergy, chronic affliction, and disease known to man.  Most recently, household cleaning products have been linked to breast cancer and ADHD in children.

Here is my recipe for deodorant that I use daily. In my book,  A survivors cookbook guide to kicking hypothyroidism booty you will find many non-toxic recipes for mind, body, spirit and cleaning home.

 Homemade Underarm deodorant

1/2 cup baking soda

1/2 cup arrowroot powder or 1/2 cup of cornstarch

5 tablespoon unrefined virgin coconut oil

10 drops of grapefruit essential oil or lavender essential oil

(You can pick your favorite scent. I like lavender or grapefruit.)

Mix baking soda and arrowroot together. Melt your coconut oil in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix all ingredients (the baking soda and arrowroot powder) with the oil. Pour into clean small mason jar. Add your essential oil to the mason jar; close with the lid. Give it a good shake to combine the essential oil with the other mixture. By doing it this way, you can still use that bowl to eat with.  Once you mix that essential oil in the bowl, it can only be used for the purpose of making your deodorant. Everything you’ve used is edible except the essential oils.

7. Airborne pollutants

In a NASA article titled “Airborne Pollutants Know No Borders” they stated that, “Any substance introduced into the atmosphere has the potential to circle the Earth.” The jet stream indeed connects all of us. There is one category of airborne pollution that has been conspiracy theory despite a voluminous number of unclassified documents from 1977 Senate hearings:  chemical spraying (chemtrails) by both private and commercial aircraft.  Recent admissions by public officials strengthen the case.  Fallout from these chemical trails has been tested and shows very high levels of barium and aluminum.

8. Chemtrails

Is there something sinister in airplane contrails? See more flight pictures.

NASA have admitted to spraying lethal chemtrails into our atmosphere – saying that lithium being sprayed into the Earths ionosphere helps to treat people with manic depression or bi-polar disorder. Chemtrails might seem like abject paranoia, but there is a current example of chemical spraying that is undeniable: the spraying of Corexit oil dispersant over the Gulf.  This process of aerial application can be likened to crop-dusting, which we know has been going on for nearly 100 years.  Wars abroad even seem to be affecting global air quality, as military munitions such as depleted uranium have entered the upper atmosphere, spreading around the planet.  The observable effects of depleted uranium are not pleasant.  Airborne pollutants have been linked to allergies, genetic mutations, and infertility.

9. Aerosolized Vaccinations

The World Health Organization has been researching aerosol vaccines for years now, as have “philanthropic” agencies which have clear aims to sterilize the population. It is also worth noting that the pharmaceutical industry has been absolved from any legal responsibility for medicating the masses since they were awarded  legal protection from all lawsuits by Congress in 1986. This law was challenged, but upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2011. Many powerful agencies are making sure that we “take our medicine.”

10. Multiple vaccinations that inject mercury, aluminum, MSG and formaldehyde into children

It is an admitted fact that today’s vaccines given to children are intentionally formulated with mercury, aluminum, MSG and formaldehyde, all of which is insanely injected into the body of infants and children.

This is openly admitted by the CDC itself, which has emerged as a criminal front group for the vaccine industry. Rather than trying to determine why vaccines are causing so much autism, the CDC tries to hide the evidence, delay the hearings, and deploy smoke and mirrors to protect the criminally-operated vaccine industry where nearly every single vaccine manufacturer operating today has been found guilty of multiple felony crimes.

The third major study in a matter of days to discredit the pharmaceutical industry, comes from the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, which found that giving children multiple vaccines at once is unsafe – a complete contradiction to the vaccine narrative shoved down everyone’s throats by government, drug companies and the media for decades.

“Although CDC recommends polio, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, rotavirus, Haemophilus influenzae type B, and pneumococcal vaccines for two-, four-, and six-month-old infants, this combination of eight vaccines administered during a single physician visit was never tested for safety in clinical trials,” wrote medical researcher Neil Z. Miller.

“This is at odds with a CDC report which found that mixed exposures to chemical substances and other stress factors, including prescribed pharmaceuticals, may produce ‘increased or unexpected deleterious health effects.’”

This is a great in-depth article to read on Your Immune System, How It Works And How Vaccines Damage It. Like I said previously. You have to decide.

11. Mercury fillings

Astonishingly, dentists in the USA continue to fill children’s mouths with the most toxic heavy metal known to man: Mercury.

They don’t call it mercury, of course, because that would raise too many questions. Instead, they call them “silver amalgam fillings.” But the No. 1 ingredient in these fillings is, of course, the heavy metal mercury.

12. School lunches

The federal government has a variety of rules and regulations that apply to school lunches. These mandates are designed to make sure that healthy lunches are available in school, but in reality, what ends up on a child’s plate isn’t always nutritious. Effects of poor nutrition from school lunches go beyond weight gain. A child who eats too much fat, sugar, sodium or processed food and too few vitamins and minerals is likely to develop a higher risk over time for several chronic health problems. These might include diabetes, kidney stones, bone loss, cancer and heart disease. Active kids who need more calories than the federal limits are also at risk, and may end up feeling weak, fatigued or nauseous during sports and exercise. School lunches continue to serve our children a toxic cocktail of chemical food additives, partially-hydrogenated oils, chemical preservatives and even cancer-causing color fixers like sodium nitrite.

Sodium nitrite causes pancreatic cancer, colon cancer and brain tumors in children. It is intentionally added to hot dogs, sausage, bacon, pepperoni, lunch meats and nearly all processed meats.

In addition to sodium nitrite, school lunches are also filled with GMOs which we now know cause huge cancer tumors in animals. The USDA, which is already in bed with Monsanto on the regulatory side, also buys masses of genetically engineered food to be used in school lunch programs.

13. Television Programming

From birth we're brainwashed through outlets that encourage materialism, ego, subservience, control & conformity. Brainwashing begins in church. Some holidays are never question either. It’s all part of the lie propagated to us by religion. Many Christians argue their church does good for others. The bible provides good morals & values. Counter-argument - you don’t need church to do good things or a bible to be a morally sound person.:

Television was invented as a way to educate and uplift and population, but it has become dominated by commercial interests who brainwash children into worshipping materialism and being manipulated into feelings of inadequacy.

The point of this is to push sugary cereals, action figures, toys and junk foods into the minds of children so that they nag parents into buying it for them. Virtually all Saturday morning television, for example, has devolved into a “nag factor manipulation matrix” designed to brainwash children into begging their parents to purchase consumable items that generate profits for corporate advertisers.

Where is the education in television these days? It is now relegated to a few channels that focus on documentaries and non-fiction subjects, and even those channels are still funded by corporate interests.

14. Public Education

American children are being insidiously poisoned by public schools and all the atrociously damaging ideas those schools teach.

Many schools are now teaching what is essentially socialism or even communism. They attack and ridicule students who believe in the founding principles of America: patriotism, the Bill of Rights, individual liberty and the U.S. Constitution.

Students are also now being microchipped and taught that they are slaves of the state.

Just recently, in fact, several students were suspended from Kearney High School for painting the American flag on their chests for a lip-sync music video project sponsored by the school.

This is all a type of mental poisoning of our children, done under the banner of “education.”

15. Toxic personal care products

Children everywhere are being bathed in toxic poisons from all their personal care products, including soaps and shampoos, laundry detergents, fabric softeners and even toothpaste.

Most personal care products are loaded with cancer-causing synthetic chemicals. Laundry detergents bathe children’s clothing in cancer-causing chemicals which are then worn by the children and absorbed into their bodies. When children become teens, the toxic burden is increased even more through deodorants, makeup and cosmetics, perfumes and colognes. Nearly all conventional body care products contain cancer-causing chemicals, including the high-end, expensive brands.

16. Toxic hydrofluosilicic acid

Children are being wildly poisoned by the dumping of hydrofluosilicic acid into the water supply. This is incorrectly called “fluoride” but it’s actually a toxic byproduct of the chemical fertilizer industry or aluminum smelting industry.

As Natural News has proven, fluoride is sold as an insecticide chemical and a metals smelting chemical. It is one of the most toxic substances yet discovered, which is why it kills insects so effectively.

Fluoride is so toxic that dumping it into a river or stream in the United States would be considered an act of ecological terrorism. Yet, somehow, it is legal to dump it into the water supply of human beings who then urinated it back into the rivers and streams where it poisons the environment.

17. Video Games

Make no mistake that children are being mentally poisoned by video games. These games teach boys that violence is normal through the relentless assault of ultra-realistic first-person shooters that put players in the position of violently murdering other human beings.

These games desensitize children to the real world, and they train children to grow up and join the military. Some of the most popular games are actually engineered and published by the military as recruiting systems for teens.

18. Mind-altering psychiatric drugs

One of the greatest crimes against children today is found in the realm of psychiatry. That dark art of anti-medicine pretends to “diagnose” children with “disorders” which are then claimed to be treated by mind-altering psychiatric drugs such as Ritalin and Prozac.

The entire industry of modern psychiatry is a criminal drug ring conducted for the sole purpose of generating profits by treating children as pharmaceutical disposal objects. Most of the psychiatric disorders found in the DSM-V manual are completely fabricated works of fiction. The drug industry and modern psychiatry run their fraud as a tag-team of criminals who prey on children.

The most effective group fighting this today is the Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), found at www.CCHRint.org

There’s Magic in the Mud

Image result for powder toothpaste

I haven’t used store bought toothpaste in years. I didn’t give up brushing my teeth although sometimes I would like to create my very own six foot “personal space bubble.” My teeth are beautifully white and my breath is always fresh. After being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I started researching and was amazed at the things we willingly without even thinking put in or on our bodies that are very harmful to us. I started to take a closer look at all the labels of EVERYTHING and  decided that I needed to divorce my store bought toothpaste.

Most of us just focus on diet in an effort to achieve overall better health, along with proper supplements and working out. Oral health is connected with the rest of the body and it’s easy to forget where the first step of digestion occurs: Yes, in the mouth!

Why would you continue to use toothpastes that include sodium lauryl phosphate, triclosan, glycerin, fluoride, and other potentially harmful chemicals? Just look at the warning labels on a standard tube of toothpaste!

Did you know that your teeth are living and spongy. The foods we eat, the commercial toothpastes, medications and chemicals from drinks all can suck out the minerals from the teeth causing weakened enamel  and leaving us more susceptible to decay and breakdown. I was on a new mission to keep my teeth healthy by using the absolute necessary  and needed trace minerals to maintain the upmost dental health plus find a solution that wasn’t abrasive,  while gently polishing them , and detoxifies while it refreshes. Is there such a thing? I did know that my long history with Mr. Store bought toothpaste were over. Did  you know that a tooth powder could whiten your teeth, remove plaque, and not contain any harmful chemicals or questionable additives?

Sorry, Mr. Toothpaste. I thought we were great together but actually your sucking the life out of me. So, It’s not me. It’s you, and here’s why:

Did you know that fluoride was Once Prescribed as an Anti-Thyroid Drug?   Up through the 1950s, doctors in Europe and South America prescribed fluoride to reduce thyroid function in patients with over-active thyroids (hyperthyroidism). (Merck Index 1968).   If you haven’t already, you should invest in a water filtration system to rid your tap water of fluoride. Do we really know how safe tap water is? Look at the recent events in Flint Michigan! Can you really trust the water companies? Although fluoride concentrations in tap water are relatively low and are considered “safe” for human consumption, it is not. Fluoride has long-term neurological and hormonal affects.  Fluoride is not an essential nutrient.  It is also that chemical that is commonly found in most toothpaste brands.  There is clear evidence that, when ingested at high doses, fluoride causes neurotoxicity. Fluoride also is understood to interfere with the absorption of iodine, possibly leading to an iodine deficiency and ultimately hypothyroidism.  To benefit your health, use fluoride free tooth or make your own tooth paste. Get a good water filtration system and purchase a filter for your shower head. We use a British Berkefeld.

Store bought toothpaste also have other ingredient’s in it like:

Image result for powder toothpaste

Image result for powder toothpaste

Glycerin is used in almost all toothpastes because it helps create a pasty texture and prevents it from drying out. Although it’s non-toxic  it coats the teeth just enough to that prevents normal tooth remineralization.  Remineralization is a whole-body process and in order for it to happen, the body must have adequate levels of certain nutrients, especially fat soluble vitamins and certain minerals. If you want to stop and reverse Tooth Decay you must add minerals in your diet, add plenty of fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K), and your body must be able to absorb vital nutrients. You certainly can’t do this by having a coat on your teeth that will prevent absorption.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a foaming agent and detergent that is commonly used in toothpaste, shampoo, and other products such as degreaser for  car engines.  SLS is an estrogen mimicker. It also increases gum inflammation and mouth ulcers. According  to a study conducted the Department of Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine in Oslo, Norway, individuals who used a toothpaste containing SLS suffered from more ulcers (canker sores) than those who used an SLS-free toothpaste.

Sweeteners: Sorbitol, sodium saccharin and other artificial sweeteners are often used in toothpaste to improve taste, even though there is no evidence that these sweeteners are beneficial (or even safe) for use in the mouth. Xylitol has shown some positive benefits for oral health in some studies, but it remains a controversial ingredient in toothpaste.

Triclosan: A chemical used in antibacterial soaps and products. Triclosan was recently found to affect proper heart function in a study at University of California Davis and the FDA is currently re-evaluating it for safety in human use.

Let’s not forget to mention that many toothpastes also contain artificial colors/dyes or synthetic flavors. I must admit there are several good natural toothpastes out there and I have tried some of them not all but with my tight budget I will make them for pennies on the dollar. My favorite way to brush my teeth is by using tooth powder. Yes, you read this right. Tooth Powder.  Here is my recipe that I use. Feel free to  adjust the ingredient’s based on your own needs. If you have sensitive teeth you might want to skip the baking soda and salt until you can get use to it.

Homemade Tooth Powder Recipe

Ingredients

Directions

Using a stainless steel or plastic spoon, mix all ingredients in a clean glass jar. To use, add a little to a wet toothbrush and brush as normal.

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is a gentle cleanser that is rich in minerals which support tooth remineralization. It’s detoxifiying properties help freshen breath and fight gum disease, while it’s adsorptive properties help remove stains from teeth.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a mild abrasive tooth polish that helps mechanically remove stains while other ingredients such as clay and activated charcoal draw them out. It also helps freshen breath.

Sea Salt

Unrefined sea salts such as this one  contain 60+ trace minerals that aid in tooth remineralization. Salt is also highly antiseptic, which helps keep bacteria in check.

Herb & Spices

Spices and herbs such as clove powder, ground cinnamon, and ground mint add flavoring, but they also have astringent properties that support gum health.

Activated Charcoal

Activated carbon – is made by processing charcoal with oxygen and either calcium chloride or zinc chloride. It was used medicinally by both Hippocrates and the ancient Egyptians, and it is still the poison remedy of choice in modern day emergency rooms. Why? Because it’s highly adsorptive, which in plain English means it attracts substances to its surface like a magnet. Like absorptive substances which work like a sponge, adsorptive materials bind with certain compounds and prevent our bodies from using them.

If your not so hip on using powdered tooth then here are some more all natural recipes.

The Fluoride Deception   ( click on link to order)

This is a powerful read. The Fluoride Deception documents a powerful connection between big corporations, the U.S. military, and the historic reassurances of fluoride safety provided by the nation’s public health establishment. The Fluoride Deception reads like a thriller, but one supported by two hundred pages of source notes, years of investigative reporting, scores of scientist interviews, and archival research in places such as the newly opened files of the Manhattan Project and the Atomic Energy Commission. The book is nothing less than an exhumation of one of the great secret narratives of the industrial era: how a grim workplace poison and the most damaging environmental pollutant of the cold war was added to our drinking water and toothpaste.

Forget about drilling, filling, and the inevitable billing. Your teeth can heal naturally because they were never designed to decay in the first place! They were designed to remain strong and healthy for your entire life. But the false promises of conventional dentistry have led us down the wrong path, leading to invasive surgical treatments that include fillings, crowns, root canals and dental implants.

How and Where to Apply Essential Oils

Essential oils are used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. Essential oils can be applied topically or diffused aromatically.

Applied Topically

Due to the natural molecular composition of EOs, they’re easily absorbed by the skin and can be safely applied topically, sometimes diluted with a carrier oil and sometimes “neat” (undiluted). Once they’re applied, essential oils can have almost an immediate, localized effect to the area where applied. They have restorative and calming properties and can be used very effectively in massage and beauty therapy. EOs are also natural disinfectants, many are antimicrobial and the similar chemical structure of essential oils allows them to be absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin for internal benefit throughout the body.

The bottoms of our feet boast the largest pores on our body and allow quick absorption. Note the thyroid areas of the feet in this diagram.

Foot Reflexology

Diffused Aromatically

Speaking from personal experience, I started using essential oils the day I bought a diffuser. Who doesn’t love a fragrant home? When I learned that I could scent my home with something organic and purify the air we breathe, I was in!

InnoGear 200ml Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser, Wood Grain

My Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser allowed immediate relief, the fresh scent that swirled up was refreshing  and I soon found I could suit my mood or improve it depending on what I put in the diffuser. It also helped me become more relaxed  with my new oils by blending and mixing and learning what worked for me and what didn’t. Just diffusing alone can improve your health and your environment.

Our sense of smell has a direct influence on our physiological pathways including the awakening of our hormones and many other metabolic tasks. Aromatherapy is founded on the body’s foreseen reaction to certain olfactory stimuli. Essential oils are commonly used in aromatherapy approaches. Certain essential oils diffused in the air can be exhilarating while others can be relaxing and comforting. Beyond emotional benefits, diffusing essential oils can purify air of unwanted odors and some airborne pathogens. Low or no-heat essential oil diffusers are recommended because they don’t change the chemical structure of the oil being diffused. EOs can also be used as cleaning and purifying laundry and surfaces in the home.

Diffusers are my favorite gift idea. For family and friends new to essential oils, I love getting them a Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser along with the Plant Guru Naturals Essential oil 14 pack   which includes lavender essential oil, Peppermint, Rosemary and Lemon.

Essential Oil Variety Set- 14 Pack - 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade 5 ml. Set includes- (Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rosemary, Spearmint, Sweet Orange & Tea Tree)

2 Essential Oils Protocols for Underactive Thyroid

Protocol 1

Two blends used a week at a time, alternating to the next.

Blend 1 (week 1)

1 part Lemongrass
1 part Myrrh (can substitute with Peppermint)
1 part carrier oil
*Frankincense

In a 5ml roller bottle. Apply topically over thyroid area at the base of the neck and reflexology points (big toe), massage in 3x daily.

*Whenever I can, I layer a drop of Frankincense over the Lemongrass/Myrrh blend. Frankincense will help the other EOs along and calm inflammation.

At the end of the first week, begin Blend 2 and apply in the same manner. After week 2, begin Blend 1 again.

Blend 2 (week 2)

1 part Zen
1 part Geranium
1 part carrier oil
*Frankincense

Protocol 2

25 drops Lemongrass
25 drops Clove
10 drops Frankincense
25 drops carrier oil

In a 5ml roller bottle. Apply topically over thyroid area at the base of the neck and reflexology points (big toe), massage in 3x daily.

FYI: on the thyroid protocol. If you have sensitive skin, dilute both blends well. Daily use on your neck can cause skin irritation for those with sensitive skin tendencies. I love applying to thyroid area of the feet AND Frankincense over the thyroid topically (with either blend) – Frank is very, very gentle more so than Lavender but a great healer!

One last word to the wise, these two essential oils protocols are not meant to replace your thyroid medication. The hope is that essential oils will help in balancing your hormones and helping you to live well despite your condition. If you’re currently on medication for hypothyroid, don’t go off it without consulting with your doctor first. Certain essential oils are not recommended while pregnant and breastfeeding.

If any of the information I shared rings true for you, please do your due diligence and investigate your symptoms until you have answers!

8 Lessons I’ve learned from Hypothyroidism

Many people don’t know about the thyroid and what it does until after they’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism.

The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck. It’s tasked with producing thyroid hormone, which controls a host of activities in the body, including how quickly you burn calories and how fast your heart beats. Hypothyroidism occurs when your thyroid is sluggish and does not make enough thyroid hormone, causing many of the body’s functions to slow. It’s typically treated with replacement thyroid hormones, and most people will need to remain on the medication for the rest of their lives, according to the American Thyroid Association

1.Thyroid Medication Usually Needs Tweaking

“Many people may feel frustrated when they first start taking replacement thyroid hormones as there can be a lot of trial and error before we get the right dose,” says Melanie Goldfarb, MD, director of the Endocrine Tumor Program at John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. “It can take three to four weeks for the medication to take effect, and it can take a while to get on the right dose, too.”

2. Medication Should Be a Morning Ritual

I’ve learned to take my medication as soon as I get up along with a warm lemon water with my thyroid medication..

Lemons are loaded with healthy benefits, and particularly, they’re a great vitamin C food source. One cup of fresh lemon juice provides 187 percent of your daily recommended serving of vitamin C — take that, oranges! Lemon juice also offers up a healthy serving of potassium, magnesium and copper.

It Aids in digestion and detoxification. It tricks the liver into producing bile, which helps keep food moving through your body and gastrointestinal tract smoothly. Lemon water also helps relieve indigestion or ease an upset stomach.

I’ve also learned to  wait 1 hour before I eat and wait 4 hours before you take any other vitamin supplements because it can interfere with the absorption of your medication. I’ve also found out that  If I wanted to drink coffee I must wait 1 hour after I’ve taken my medication because it can also interfere with the absorption of your thyroid medication and to never ever to forget to eat  breakfast! I need fuel but I have to wait  1 hour After I’ve taken my thyroid pill.

3. Let thy food be thy medicine

Food is not just calories it is information. It talks to your DNA and tells it what to do. My most powerful tool to change my health was my fork. I needed to stop going long periods of time without food. My body always needed energy. If my blood sugar starts to drop this creates a stress reaction and now your adrenal glands will do what it needs to do  to maintain my body’s function by releasing more cortisol or adrenaline. Eating often would  help put  my body back in its normal cycle.  I needed to eat foods that nourish my body and not hinder it.

I really had no idea how powerful food really was until after I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.  Many people with hypothyroidism are deficient in Magnesium, B-12, Zinc, Iodine, B2, Vitamin C, Selenium, Vitamin D and Vitamin A.

The Standard American diet in a nutshell is loaded with unhealthy saturated and trans fats. Our meals are unbalanced, over-sized and loaded with sugar, salt, artificial ingredients and preservatives. We have an abundance of food at our finger tips but yet we are extremely malnourished and mineral deficient. We are literally starving our bodies to death! People are not obtaining the basic nutrients their bodies needs in order to fuel what is needed to perform its proper functions. We are literally running on empty!  There is about 20 million estimated Americans with some type of hypothyroid disorder.

Although my  thyroid is small, it produces a hormone that influences every cell, tissue and organ in the body. My thyroid determines the rate in which my body produces the energy from nutrients and oxygen. So I need to start eating foods that fed my thyroid.  I needed to  start nourishing my body back to health with foods that jump kicked my metabolism too.

4. There is no one size fits all diet for Hypothyroidism

I started to research to begin to try to understand that there’s really not a one size fits all diet for us with hypothyroidism  but there are certain ways we can eat that will certainly help begin the healing process. Diet alone wasn’t enough to help my body start fighting this battle that is raging in your body. I needed to  start addressing other area’s in your life that can cause inflammation like  Dietary Allergies, Addressing gut health and avoiding Chemical toxins and endocrine disruptors.

5. I had become my own advocate for my health

After being diagnosed my priorities were made more clear. I had to start listening to my body, stop taking my health for granted and continuing to research to figure out what I needed to do to “fix me”. I started making my own cleaning products, lotions and deodorant’s. Our skin is the largest organ in our body and it absorbs everything we put on it. Here is a recipe that I make all the time for homemade deodorant.

Homemade Deodorant

6. Stop Stressing the Small Stuff

My thyroid has been having a relationship with my adrenal gland. It’s never been straight forward with my body and it never will be. The butterfly shaped gland that sits in front of my neck does more than control my metabolism. My thyroid puts out hormones in my body that knock on every cell and tells it what to do basically but for some reason with my hypothyroidism those cells simply refuse to answer that door.

My adrenal gland is only the size of a walnut and are locked  on top of each of your kidney’s. She is in charge of producing vital hormones that help regulate your body’s functions which include two major important things in your life my sex hormones and my cortisol levels. When you have hypothyroidism your cortisol levels are naturally higher than someone without hypothyroidism. You see I’ve learned that my Cortisol is more than just a steroid hormone that is made in the cortex of the adrenal gland. It has a greater task than just being tagged as your fight or flight response system. Almost every cell in my body contains receptors for cortisol. When my stress levels are high cortisol is released into my blood stream. Our bodies aren’t designed for us to be in a constant state of emergency. Our adrenal glands doesn’t know the difference between  a true emergency or just being stressed out. So in return she will continue to produce extra cortisol into our blood stream. After a while of pumping out the constant need for  cortisol  she will become weakened and start decreasing her ability to produce cortisol and instead produce extra adrenaline. So do you see why we must get our stress under control and not stress the small stuff! Let things roll off our back like a duck does water.

7. Start Addressing the Root Cause of my Hypothyroidism

I needed to understand or get a idea of how everything has a part to play in my body. Being diagnosed with hypothyroidism wasn’t just here take this pill and it will fix my issues. Hypothyroidism had a root cause. Once I started addressing the root of your problems then my body can start healing itself. My body is an awesome design but there is a complex balance between everything. It’s a domino affect. If I had  something in my body that is overworked  it can cause a major shift in my body.  Two things I needed to  start doing immediately is getting my immune system in check and decreasing inflammation. Inflammation disrupts the production and regulatory mechanisms of thyroid hormones. Sometimes we have to do a little pruning of the branches, in order for the tree to be healthy again. A number of things can be the reason why I had hypothyroidism. It could be a wide range of things from  celiac disease, Hashimoto’s, leaky gut,  autoimmune disease disorder, nutrient deficiency’s, adrenal fatigue, exposure to chemicals, gluten or other food allergies, and hormonal imbalance.  It most defiantly started  with the foods that I was eating and the chemicals in the environment, my thyroid could  be influenced by many different circumstances. I needed to start figuring out what the root cause of my hypothyroidism was.

8. Start Loving Myself Again

All I do is run, run and run! I am exhausted and felt so guilty anytime I needed to have down time because there was things that needed to be done.  So I started to allow myself to take a day and do nothing. I mean absolutely nothing. WHY? Because  my body needed to recharge and stop being ran into the freaking ground. I am not a machine. I started taking Epsom salt baths. I will also take a day where I lay around and watch movies.  Get up take a shower and put on more pajama’s.

We all have to die someday but do me a favor. Don’t die not trying, Don’t die not seeking after the truth, don’t die just accepting this is your fate. It’s up to you to make a difference in your life. This your life, your body and your choice. We all have a story. You are the author of  your book, make it fantastic.

In my book: A Survivors Cookbook Guide To Kicking Hypothyroidisms Booty. It goes into detail with recipes and tips of how to start fighting hypothyroidism.

Your Thyroid has a Mistress

Your thyroid has been having a relationship with your adrenal gland. It’s never been straight forward with your body and it never will be. That butterfly shaped gland in the front of you neck does more than control your metabolism. Your thyroid puts out hormones in your body that knock on every cell and tells it what to do basically but for some reason when you have hypothyroidism those cells refuse to answer the door.

Your adrenal gland is only the size of a walnut and are locked  on top of each of your kidney’s. She is in charge of producing vital hormones that help regulate your body’s functions which include two major important things in your life your sex hormones and your cortisol levels.

Your Cortisol is more than just a steroid hormone that is made in the cortex of the adrenal gland. It has a greater task than just being tagged as your fight or flight response system. Almost every cell in our body contains receptors for cortisol. When your stress levels are high cortisol is released into your blood stream. Your body isn’t designed for you to be in a constant state of emergency. Your adrenal gland doesn’t know the difference between  a true emergency or just being stressed out. So in return she will continue to produce extra cortisol into your blood stream. After a while of pumping out the constant need for  cortisol  she will become weakened and start decreasing her ability to produce cortisol and instead produce extra adrenaline. This is what makes us feel shaky, lightheaded and anxious. This can start leading our body towards adrenal fatigue syndrome. Cortisol is also released by two other major players in your body your  hypothalamus in the brain and your pituitary gland.

Your hypothalamus job is to keep your body in a constant stable condition. It’s like a supervisor that collects and combines information and puts changes in place to correct any imbalances. The hypothalamus also tells your pituitary gland how much hormones to release and store. Next what happens is your pituitary gland will produces the chemical messengers, also known as hormones, that stimulate the adrenal gland to secrete who is in  charge of producing vital hormones that help regulate your body’s functions which include two major important things in your life your sex hormones and your cortisol levels.

The million Dollar Question

Back to the million dollar question what does all this have to do with my thyroid. So, when the adrenal glands are weakened from one or more of the causes I discussed above, what happens is that it puts the body in a state of catabolism.  What this means is that the body begins to break down, which as you can imagine isn’t a good thing.  As you probably know, the thyroid gland  puts out hormones in your body that knock on every cell and tells it what to do basically. So when the body is in a state of catabolism, the thyroid gland will slow down in order to slow down the catabolic process.

The light Bulb Moment

Is this all starting to make sense now? What we need to realize is in most cases, the malfunctioning thyroid gland isn’t the actual cause of the problem.  Other areas of the body are usually responsible for the thyroid condition. Many hypothyroid symptoms are very similar to adrenal fatigue that they are often confuse or misdiagnosed.

On top of all this confusion, the tests performed for thyroid and adrenal problems are often difficult to interpret correctly.

Why doesn’t your medical doctor check to see if its adrenal fatigue instead of just labeling you with a thyroid condition? The main reason is because your medical doctors aren’t trained in medical school to evaluate the entire endocrine system. They are trained to treat your symptoms with medication and surgery. Webster’s online dictionary give this definition: a person who is skilled in the science of medicine : a person who is trained and licensed to treat sick and injured people.  You should see a endocrinologist if you’ve been diagnosed with any thyroid disorder.

Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body.

Why should you take a thyroid replacement pill when  you really need actually have adrenal fatigue ?  This is where a endocrinologist can help. Hypothyroidism can also be by nutrient deficiencies and not  your adrenal gland. This is why you should also look into seeing a Holistic medicine practitioner. They  believe that the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health.

All is not lost!

I wanted you to understand or get a idea of how everything has a part to play in your body. Being diagnosed with hypothyroidism isn’t just here take this pill and it will fix your issues. Hypothyroidism has a root cause. Once you start addressing the root of your problems then your body can start healing itself. Your body is an awesome design but there is a complex balance between everything. It’s a domino affect. If you have something in your body that is overworked  it will cause a major shift in your body. Don’t worry the good news is it can be healed.

Food is not just calories it is information. It talks to your DNA and tells it what to do. Your most powerful tool to change your health is your fork. You can’t go long periods without food. Your body always needs energy. If your blood sugar starts to drop this creates a stress reaction and now your adrenal glands will do what it needs to do  to maintain your body’s function by releasing more cortisol or adrenaline. Eating often will help put  your body back in its normal cycle.  You should eat foods that nourish your body and not hinder it.

The following table outlines the key differences in the signs and symptoms between adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism.

The Ultimate Magical pill that will get you in that bikini body

1 Magical pill that will get you in that bikini body. This magical pill  will have heads turning all summer long. It’s a all natural nutrient packed formula combined with the ultimate extra sexy sizzle that will have heads turning all summer long and even guaranteed to attract the opposite sex!

Do I have your attention? Well, of course I do. We all seem to be looking for a 1 fit all program or that “magical pill” to get the imagine in our minds of what we think we should look like but guess what? There’s no such pill and  no such program but what we do have is lifestyle choices and lifestyle changes.

You need to make your calories count! Healthy weight management starts with eating the right foods , physical activity and another powerful tool called reading labels.

Reading labels isn’t that hard but it can be very misleading. Food manufacturers are brilliant in using misleading tricks to convince people to buy their products.

One of the best suggestions I can offer you on this is ignore the labels on front of the packaging.  Front labels are there to entice and lure you into purchasing the products by making health claims. Companies  want to make you believe that their product is healthier than others.  The first list of  ingredients is what the company has used the most.

Glance over first three ingredients, this is actually the largest part of what you’re eating.

If your first ingredients include refined grains, some sort of sugar or hydrogenated oils, you can beat your bottom dollar that this product is unhealthy.

What you can do when reading labels is opt for items that have whole foods listed as the first few ingredients. Also if the ingredients list is longer than 2–3 lines? You guessed it, it’s highly over  processed.

This has actually been studied. Research shows that adding health claims to front labels affects people’s choices. It makes them believe a product is healthier

A few things you should look at when reading labels.

What is the serving  size?

Make sure you do the math and get the serving sizes right.

How many serving are in the container?

How many calories are in a single serving?

How much sodium does it have in it?

Too much sodium can raise blood pressure, which increases heart disease risk, and it may be a sign of a more highly processed . The recommended daily limit for sodium (2,300 mg). If you have high blood pressure already you are not suppose to consume more than 1,500 mg’s of sodium per day.

How much fiber does it have?

The idea is to eat heart healthy foods . If you anything that has enriched wheat flour or enriched anything that  it is  a sign that the grain has been refined, meaning it has been stripped of the germ and bran, which pack most of the grain’s nutrients including fiber. Any product that contains grains you want it to have  at least have 3g per serving.

How much saturated fat does it have?

It if it has healthy unsaturated fat, that’s a better product.  If the product has any trans fat, put it back on the shelf. Trans fat has been shown to increase levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol while decreasing levels of “good” HDL cholesterol— YUCK- a major health hit.

Misleading Labeling Claims – and What They Actually Mean

Health claims on packaged food are designed to catch your attention and convince you that their product is healthy.

Here are some of the most common ones, and what they actually mean:

  • Light: Light products are processed to reduce either calories or fat, and some products are simply watered down. Check carefully to see if anything has been added instead, like sugar.
  • Multigrain: This sounds very healthy, but basically just means that there is more than one type of grain in the product. These are most likely refined grains, unless the product is marked as whole grain.
  • Natural: This does not necessarily mean that the product resembles anything natural. It simply means that at some point the manufacturer had a natural source (for example, apples or rice) to work with.
  • Organic: This label says very little about whether the product is healthy or not. For example, organic sugar is still sugar. Only certified organically grown products can be guaranteed to be organic.
  • No added sugar: Some products are naturally high in sugar. The fact that they don’t have added sugar doesn’t mean they’re healthy. Unhealthy sugar substitutes may also have been added.
  • Low-calorie: Low-calorie products have to contain 1/3 fewer calories than the same brand’s original product. However, one brand’s low-calorie version may contain similar calories as the original of another product.
  • Low-fat: This label almost always means that the fat has been reduced at the cost of adding more sugar. Be very careful and read the ingredients listed on the back.
  • Low-carb: Recently, low-carb diets have been linked with improved health. However, processed foods that are labeled low-carb are usually just processed junk foods, similar to processed low-fat junk foods.
  • Made with whole grain: There is probably very little whole grain in the product. Check the ingredients list and see where the whole grain is placed. If it is not in the first 3 ingredients, then the amount is negligible.
  • Fortified or enriched: This basically means that some nutrients have been added to the product. For example, vitamin D is often added to milk.
  • Gluten-free: Gluten-free does not equal healthy. It simply means that the product doesn’t contain wheat, spelt, rye or barley. Many foods are gluten-free, but can be highly processed and loaded with unhealthy fats and sugar.
  • Fruit-flavored: Many processed foods have a name that refers to a natural flavor, such as strawberry yogurt. However, there may not be any fruit in the product, only chemicals designed to taste like fruit.
  • Zero trans fat: “Zero trans fat” actually means “less than 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving.” So if serving sizes are misleadingly small, the product can actually contain a lot of trans fat (5).

Sugar goes by many names in ingredient lists, many of these you might not recognize.

Types of sugar: beet sugar, brown sugar, buttered sugar, cane sugar, caster sugar, coconut sugar, date sugar, golden sugar, invert sugar, muscovado sugar, organic raw sugar, raspadura sugar, evaporated cane juice and confectioner’s sugar.

  • Other added sugars: barley malt, molasses, cane juice crystals, lactose, corn sweetener, crystalline fructose, dextran, malt powder, ethyl maltol, fructose, fruit juice concentrate, galactose, glucose, disaccharides, maltodextrin and maltose.

You can always  avoid being misled by these labels and start eating whole foods and avoid processed foods altogether.

However, if you decide to buy packaged foods, it is necessary to sort out the junk from the higher quality products.

Keep in mind that whole food doesn’t need an ingredients list, because the whole food IS the ingredient.
