8 Hypothyroidism Juicing Recipes by 13x’s Hypothyroidism Published Author A.L. Childers

I’m allergic to myself, in theory. Being diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and later Hashimoto’s hasn’t been a walk in the park. My entire body is at the mercy of my thyroid from weight loss to extreme fatigue. My body immune system is attacking my thyroid gland – as if it was foreign tissue and my immune systems ultimate goal is to eventually , completely destroy my thyroid gland.

It’s estimated that 27 million Americans have thyroid disease? And that about 13 million of them are undiagnosed? Women are seven times more likely than men to develop thyroid problems, and women over 50 are particularly susceptible to developing hypothyroidism.

Your body is an awesome design but there is a complex balance between everything. It’s like a domino. One thing in your body that is overworked can cause a major shift in how things operate. Sometimes we have to do a little pruning of the branches, in order for the tree to be healthy again. There is not one size fits all.

See when your thyroid isn’t working properly it can wreck havoc on your life. Your thyroid is responsible for so many things. it regulates your metabolism, makes energy, adjusts your mood, helps you sleep, even helps aid in good digestion but your see this is where you come into play. Like anything else in life you get back what you give.

You must understand that your thyroid physiology is very complex and  the treatment along with misdiagnosis is very common with hypothyroidism. Not everyone is the same. What has caused my hypothyroidism might not be what has caused yours.

In most cases, hypothyroidism is caused by a beginning rooted immune system issue. According to Dr. Datis Kharrazian, 90% of people with hypothyroidism have Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune hypothyroid condition, whereby the immune system attacks thyroid tissue. Therefore, to cure thyroid disease, or any autoimmune condition, you have to get to the source of the imbalance; focusing on suppression of symptoms with medication alone is simply barking up the wrong tree.

Living with hypothyroidism isn’t easy. This autoimmune disorder comes with so many frustrating side affects. Did you know that it takes 24 to 72 hours for food to travel through your G.I. tract before you have a bowel movement of what you ate the day before it becomes a byproduct of broken down foods that you consumed in those 24 to 72 hours prior? Your digestion system is a very active process that needs many resources that are used from the body such as blood flow and energy to break down your food.
How many of us actually eat seven fruits and vegetables per day? Juicing is a great way to give your digestive system a break and your body can easily absorb the nutrients being consumed but you will miss out on fiber, you might not lose that extra weight, it does help to reduce bloating, but it also can be dangerous when to much sugar can lead to blood sugar swings. Let’s not forget to mention it can become quite expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I love juicing and I tend to go through phases where I juice everyday for months on end then I switch over to smoothies. When we juice we are left with all the super yummy micronutrients and the natural sugars. Try to remember the 4:1 ratio rule. Add 4x more veggies and only 1 fruit. Doing this will ensure that you will cut down on the excess sugar.
Keep in mind that your body does naturally detox every day especially if your eating whole, healthy ingredients while avoiding processed foods and alcohol. Don’t forget all of these recipes can be made into a smoothie as well if you add some water, coconut water , unsweetened almond milk or canned coconut milk.

While most people can consume goitrogens:

It seems that most of your green juice recipes always have kale, spinach or cruciferous vegetables as part of the ingredient in the drink or somewhere in it. Although its fantastic in fighting cancer and have some wonderful health benefits, people with hypothyroidism have to watch their intake of these raw veggies. They can cause huge problems for us with thyroid conditions. These raw veggies can cause the enlargement of our thyroid gland, interfere with the production of your thyroid hormone and can actually act like anti-thyroid drugs, slowing it down and ultimately your hypothyroidism to worsen. You can replace goitrogens with organic romaine lettuce.
The following foods have goitrogens:
Kale
Spinach (raw spinach interferes with the body’s ability to absorb calcium, too)
Bok Choy
Broccoli
Brussels Sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Collards
Mustard Greens
Turnips
Red Radishes
Watercress

You can get these vegetables  a few times per week but cook them. Never eat them raw. I Normally cook mind in raw, virgin, unrefined coconut oil, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil or drizzle with avocado oil. All of these would be great for you!

Symptoms of Thyroid Disease:
Weight gain
Fatigue
Loose stools (too much TSH)
Constipation (too little TSH)
Brain fog/difficulty concentrating
Thinning hair and brittle nails
Low body temperature
Depression (20% of people with low thyroid have depression)
Sleep disturbances
Infertility
Light sensitivity
Joint aches

What’s Important for the Thyroid?

  • The body needs to be alkaline
  • Good fats. A low fat or non-fat diet will weaken the immune system and wreak hormonal havoc. The body needs good sources of fat in the diet to regulate the thyroid.
  • Protein. It is required for transporting the thyroid hormone throughout the body to all of the tissues.

Also, learn your body and learn your foods.  For example:  Turmeric has wonderful medicinal properties but Individuals suffering from gallbladder obstruction, certain medications, people who are at high risk of developing kidney stones, Pregnant or lactating women and people with sugar issues shouldn’t include turmeric in their smoothies.

Easy and simple Natural Ways to Make Your House Smell Like Autumn

dc4a0-christmas-stove-top-potpourri-2

Mother Nature paints this beautiful landscape of rich golden enchanting colors. The sound of leaves crackling benefit my feet as I take a deep breath of the fresh air crisp. My soul begins to feel the renewed harmony from the hot hazy, hustle and bustle days of summer. In the distance, I hear the gabble of a flock of geese all lined up in perfect formation beginning to head south for the winter. The smell of fall scented candles and Friday night football games let’s not fail to forget the fun of tailgating. I have many fond memories of laughing around a bonfire, and staying toasty while enjoying a night out with friends. I just love the way my oversized sweater snugs my skin and the warm pumpkin latte keeps my belly warm. Fall is one of the most packed holiday seasons. This is a season to be truly thankful, and to simply surround yourself with friend and family that are dear to your heart. Falls scents make me think of Pumpkin spice lattes, gingerbread men, cinnamon and citrus flavors.

I love when guests come over and say , “Mmm! Your house smells so clean and  inviting”! “What’s your secret?” It’s really not that hard to get your house to smell wonderfully delicious. Sometimes it’s because I’ve been baking, and other times it’s because I have a pot simmering on the stove.

Autumn is a the beginning of a perfect season to start making your own scents for your  home. You can impress your friends and family  while creating a healthy all natural fall scents that are warm, comforting and cozy.

After I started researching on my journey to heal my hypothyroidism. I was stunned by  how these delightful and sometimes very expensive scents were so toxic to our bodies.

These products are often filled with  carcinogenic chemicals and other harmful toxins which can have an affect on our breathing, our hormones and our brain.

Look at some of the common chemicals found in air fresheners:

Acetaldehyde – This chemical with a deceptively innocuous fruity odor is a known carcinogen.

Benzaldehyde – Classified by United States Environmental Protection Agency as a hazardous substance, this chemical smells of almond oil.

1,3-Dichloro-2-propanol – A strong-smelling chemical known to cause kidney and liver cancers.

1,4-Dichlorobenzene – Another carcinogen with a strong smell that can mask other odors by numbing our sensory receptors.

Methyl pyrrolidone – featured on the list of Chemicals Known to the State to Cause Cancer or Reproductive Toxicity according to the California Proposition 65.

Add to these to a petroleum-based solvents and fake fragrances, and now we are talking about a potent concoction of cancer- causing substances, least not fail to mention their role in causing neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Stove Top Classic’s

Pots that are simmering on the stove or using your crock pot are really easy ways to  make your home smell wonderfully amazing. it’s pretty simple. All you need to do is grab a pot, fill it with 2 cups of water, bring to a boil then add the ingredients that make up your favorite Autumn scents. I would let the pot simmer gently on the stove and adding more water when needed. Before you know it, the scent will fill be filled throughout your entire house.

Here are a few combinations of fall scents that you can play around with until you find your favorite.

Non Toxic Fall Candle Scents

Everyone should have some warm and inviting candles. They are a nice way to make your home fell warm and cozy throughout the cool Fall and cold Winter months. Why not make you own all natural and safe scented candles? These super easy mason jar candles contains beeswax along with , essential oils such as cinnamon, vanilla and clove.

Cinnamon Spiced Candle

Supplies:

Instructions:

Ok you will need to start by melting your wax.  Melt  2 cups of  wax and this will make 2 candle jars. Melt one cup of wax at a time and microwave for two minutes.  Continue microwaving at 1 minute intervals until melted.  Next add the other cup of wax to the container and  microwave in one minute intervals until it is all melted.  It normally take about me about 5 minutes total.  (make sure you never use the same measuring glass that you use for your food. I have one that I use just for candle making.

Next start to prepare your candle wick while you wax is melting.  Wrap the end of the wick around a wood skewer or pencil and balance the skewer on the top of the jar-this holds the wick in place while your candle is setting. Make sure the metal end of the wick is resting on the bottom of the jar.

When the wax is completely melted add vanilla and spices, mixing well with a skewer.

Gently and slowly pour the wax mixture into your two jars, adjusting your wick necessary. Sometimes the wick likes to move, this is when you need to adjust it back into place.  Let the candles to set for 4-5 hours until firm.

Why do I use beeswax instead of other products.

Beeswax candles: Natures natural air purifier

Pure beeswax candles are healthy.  Beeswax candles produces negative ions that actually clean your air of odors, pollen, smoke, dust, dust mites, viruses, asthma, allergies, and hay fever!  Bee-wax candles leave your indoor air fresher and cleaner. Many air purifiers and water filters harness this effective negative ion technology.  They are the only candle for anyone with chemical sensitivities or allergies.

When you increase the negative ions in the air. Your mood improves and it gives you a  sense of wellness.

With increased negative ions, studies how shown that it :

  • Improves sleep
  • Enhances immune system
  • Relief from hay fever & allergies
  • Proven to lessen asthma related symptoms
  • Improves air quality
  • Improves concentration
  • helps to balancing  hormones
  • Its’ a natural detoxification

Sneaky labeling on beeswax candles

A candle may be labeled “beeswax” if it contains as little as 10% beeswax – the remaining ingredients is most likely paraffin. watch out for  “natural” labels.  If the label doesn’t say “100% beeswax” or “pure beeswax”, it almost certainly is not.

Insist on 100% Pure Beeswax. The natural choice.

The problem with paraffin candles

“Regular candles,” are made from paraffin wax, a by-product of petroleum refining. The result? A highly toxic (and environmentally unfriendly) product that literally poisons the air you breathe.

Paraffin wax is the  sludge at the bottom of the barrel of crude oil.  Then the “Chemists” mix in toxic concoctions of colors and fragrances to make this waste product appealing to us consumers! These candles when burned release eleven documented toxins –two of which are carcinogenic.  Have you seen the black soot stains left on your walls, ceilings, furniture, and drapery.  These toxic tiny particles are easily inhaled and may cause respiratory irritation in your lungs. The American Lung Association has issued a warning against breathing the eleven documented toxins (two of which are carcinogenic) that are released, along with soot, when a paraffin candle burns.

Sprinkle drops of essential oils on the cones, seal and shake. Leave in bag for at least one week.

We all know the most common scent for pine cones is cinnamon. But you can use any these essential oil scents , or even mix some together.

The Real Story behind Hypothyroidism

Fact: Every Cell in your body responds to your thyroid hormones. These hormones have a direct impact on every major system in your body.

Hypothyroidism is a consequence of actions taken. It is a combination of sequences that you allowed to take  place to get  you to this point in  your life.  Yes, I am pointing the finger at you. I am pointing the finger at myself. I am so busy of “not being aware” and ” grabbing what is easy” that I’ve allowed this to happen. There is this big lie that we all got stuck in.   Listen to me when I say  there’s a major disconnect between what YOU believe to be healthy foods and what research tells us is healthy. In fact, many of the health foods today that people go out of their way to eat daily are extremely thyroid suppressive.

As diseases go, you would think that it would be a cinch to diagnose and pretty straightforward to treat. Each of us are unique individuals with different sensitivities. None of  has the same exact routine as far as what foods we eat, what chemicals we are exposed to and what medications we take but yet we all are similar when it comes to our thyroids not working properly.

First, please give me a moment to explain how the thyroid works.

Hypothyroidism means your thyroid is not making enough thyroid hormone. Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the front of your throat. It makes the hormones that control the way your body uses energy. Basically, our thyroid hormone tells all the cells in our bodies how busy they should be.

Most doctors will prescribe you a synthetic version of thyroid hormone called Synthroid (levothyroxine). First introduced in 1959, Synthroid is the third most frequently prescribed drugs in the United States. For the sixty years prior to Synthroid, the standard treatment was a desiccated (dried) concentrate of pig thyroid, which remains popular today, although not nearly as popular as its successor per  Robert Rountree, M.D., who is a physician in private practice and an Herb Research Foundation advisory board member.

How were you diagnosed? Did your doctor just perform a simple TSH test and it showed that you had an elevated presence of  thyroid stimulating hormone in your blood?

TSH is made in the pituitary, a small gland near the center of the brain. When the thyroid gland doesn’t make enough T4, the pituitary increases its production of TSH in an attempt to make the gland work harder. In other words, thyroid hormone production is regulated by a simple negative feedback loop. When a diseased gland fails to make enough T4, the quick and easy solution is to replace it with a synthetic version. Per Robert Rountree, M.D., who is a physician in private practice and an Herb Research Foundation advisory board member.

Hold on. Don’t be so quick to start taking that synthetic version of T4 only medication. Synthetics like thyroxine will eventually destroy the thyroid where you will have to be on some form of thyroid medication for the rest of your life. Also, everything that glitters isn’t gold. There isn’t a one size fits all solution to hypothyroidism. This is why you have to work with your doctor. Requests a full thyroid panel which should at least include these 6 key thyroid labs that are listed below.  Some of us, like I need T3 along with our T4 medication because our T4 isn’t converting into a must needed hormone called T3. This is why most people have partial improvements. Also, the conversion to T3 is affected by nutritional deficiencies such as low selenium, inadequate omega-3 fatty acids, low zinc, chemicals from the environment, or by stress. is your head spinning yet with all this information!

A full thyroid panel for hypothyroidism should at least include these 6 key thyroid lab tests:

TSH

Free T4

Free T3

Reverse T3

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies

Thyroglobulin Antibodies

Environmental chemicals and toxins, pesticides, BPA, thyroid endocrine disruptors, iodine imbalance, other medications, fluoride, overuse of soy products, cigarette smoking, and gluten intolerance. All of these play a very important role in your thyroid health. A nonprofit group called Beyond Pesticides warns that some 60 percent of pesticides used today have been shown to affect the thyroid gland’s production of T3 and T4 hormones. Commercially available insecticides and fungicides have also been involved. Even dental x-rays have been linked to an increased risk of thyroid disorders.

As consumers we put our trust in the research and development of scientific studies, The FDA and  The CDC. Drug store chains have quota’s to meet and even some of our Doctors get yearly bonus’s. Little do we do that behind closed doors corporations often pay scientists and these companies to  support their product for profit.  Some Politicians seem to have a revolving door between the private and public sector.  The synthetic chemicals we face everyday that is in our food, our water, and  the air that we breathe .

Did you know that products we use every day may contain toxic chemicals and has been linked to women’s health issues? They are hidden endocrine disruptors and are very tricky chemicals that play havoc on our bodies. “We are all routinely exposed to endocrine disruptors, and this has the potential to significantly harm the health of our youth,” said Renee Sharp, EWG’s director of research. “It’s important to do what we can to avoid them, but at the same time we can’t shop our way out of the problem. We need to have a real chemical policy reform.” The longer the length of ingredients on your food label means how much more unhealthy it is for you to consume. When an item contains a host of ingredients that most likely you cant even pronounce or remember to spell you can bet your lucky dollar that the natural nutrients are long gone. These highly processed frank n foods are very difficult for the body to break down and some of the chemicals will become stored in your body. Click on this link to see what you should avoid.

Pesticides, herbicides, GMOs in our food, fluoride and chlorine and trace pharmaceutical residue in the water supplies, methane, carbon monoxide and industrial pollutants in the air, and the toxic chemicals in our everyday household products.

No wonder our bodies are completely bombarded and overwhelmed with the constant exposed to toxic chemicals through the air that we breathe, the water we drink, the foods we eat, and the personal care products and cleaning products we use.

Every Cell in your body responds to the foods you eat, the products you put on your body to the house hold chemicals that you purchase for your home. All of these things have a direct impact on your hormones and in return your hormones have a direct impact on every major system in your body. Not to mention that our body is lacking certain nutrients that heavily influence the function of every cell in our body. The foods that we consume, oh, the foods we consume.

I haven’t used store bought toothpaste in years. I didn’t give up brushing my teeth although sometimes I would like to create my very own six foot “personal space bubble.” My teeth are beautifully white and my breath is always fresh. After being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I started researching and was amazed at the things we willingly without even thinking put in or on our bodies that are very harmful to us. I started to take a closer look at all the labels of EVERYTHING and  decided that I needed to divorce my store bought toothpaste.

Most of us just focus on diet in an effort to achieve overall better health, along with proper supplements and working out. Oral health is connected with the rest of the body and it’s easy to forget where the first step of digestion occurs: Yes, in the mouth!

Why would you continue to use toothpastes that include sodium lauryl phosphate, triclosan, glycerin, fluoride, and other potentially harmful chemicals? Just look at the warning labels on a standard tube of toothpaste!

Did you know that your teeth are living and spongy. The foods we eat, the commercial toothpastes, medications and chemicals from drinks all can suck out the minerals from the teeth causing weakened enamel  and leaving us more susceptible to decay and breakdown. I was on a new mission to keep my teeth healthy by using the absolute necessary  and needed trace minerals to maintain the upmost dental health plus find a solution that wasn’t abrasive,  while gently polishing them , and detoxifies while it refreshes. Is there such a thing? I did know that my long history with Mr. Store bought toothpaste were over. Did  you know that a tooth powder could whiten your teeth, remove plaque, and not contain any harmful chemicals or questionable additives?

Sorry, Mr. Toothpaste. I thought we were great together but actually your sucking the life out of me. So, It’s not me. It’s you, and here’s why:

Did you know that fluoride was Once Prescribed as an Anti-Thyroid Drug?   Up through the 1950s, doctors in Europe and South America prescribed fluoride to reduce thyroid function in patients with over-active thyroids (hyperthyroidism). (Merck Index 1968).   If you haven’t already, you should invest in a water filtration system to rid your tap water of fluoride. Do we really know how safe tap water is? Look at the recent events in Flint Michigan! Can you really trust the water companies? Although fluoride concentrations in tap water are relatively low and are considered “safe” for human consumption, it is not. Fluoride has long-term neurological and hormonal affects.  Fluoride is not an essential nutrient.  It is also that chemical that is commonly found in most toothpaste brands.  There is clear evidence that, when ingested at high doses, fluoride causes neurotoxicity. Fluoride also is understood to interfere with the absorption of iodine, possibly leading to an iodine deficiency and ultimately hypothyroidism.  To benefit your health, use fluoride free tooth or make your own tooth paste. Get a good water filtration system and purchase a filter for your shower head. We use a British Berkefeld.

Store bought toothpaste also have other ingredient’s in it like:

Glycerin is used in almost all toothpastes because it helps create a pasty texture and prevents it from drying out. Although it’s non-toxic  it coats the teeth just enough to that prevents normal tooth remineralization.  Remineralization is a whole-body process and in order for it to happen, the body must have adequate levels of certain nutrients, especially fat soluble vitamins and certain minerals. If you want to stop and reverse Tooth Decay you must add minerals in your diet, add plenty of fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K), and your body must be able to absorb vital nutrients. You certainly can’t do this by having a coat on your teeth that will prevent absorption.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a foaming agent and detergent that is commonly used in toothpaste, shampoo, and other products such as degreaser for  car engines.  SLS is an estrogen mimicker. It also increases gum inflammation and mouth ulcers. According  to a study conducted the Department of Oral Surgery & Oral Medicine in Oslo, Norway, individuals who used a toothpaste containing SLS suffered from more ulcers (canker sores) than those who used an SLS-free toothpaste.

Sweeteners: Sorbitol, sodium saccharin and other artificial sweeteners are often used in toothpaste to improve taste, even though there is no evidence that these sweeteners are beneficial (or even safe) for use in the mouth. Xylitol has shown some positive benefits for oral health in some studies, but it remains a controversial ingredient in toothpaste.

Triclosan: A chemical used in antibacterial soaps and products. Triclosan was recently found to affect proper heart function in a study at University of California Davis and the FDA is currently re-evaluating it for safety in human use.

Let’s not forget to mention that many toothpastes also contain artificial colors/dyes or synthetic flavors. I must admit there are several good natural toothpastes out there and I have tried some of them not all but with my tight budget I will make them for pennies on the dollar. My favorite way to brush my teeth is by using tooth powder. Yes, you read this right. Tooth Powder.  Here is my recipe that I use. Feel free to  adjust the ingredient’s based on your own needs. If you have sensitive teeth you might want to skip the baking soda and salt until you can get use to it.

Homemade Tooth Powder Recipe

Ingredients

Directions

Using a stainless steel or plastic spoon, mix all ingredients in a clean glass jar. To use, add a little to a wet toothbrush and brush as normal.

Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is a gentle cleanser that is rich in minerals which support tooth remineralization. It’s detoxifiying properties help freshen breath and fight gum disease, while it’s adsorptive properties help remove stains from teeth.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a mild abrasive tooth polish that helps mechanically remove stains while other ingredients such as clay and activated charcoal draw them out. It also helps freshen breath.

Sea Salt

Unrefined sea salts such as this one  contain 60+ trace minerals that aid in tooth remineralization. Salt is also highly antiseptic, which helps keep bacteria in check.

Herb & Spices

Spices and herbs such as clove powder, ground cinnamon, and ground mint add flavoring, but they also have astringent properties that support gum health.

Activated Charcoal

Activated carbon – is made by processing charcoal with oxygen and either calcium chloride or zinc chloride. It was used medicinally by both Hippocrates and the ancient Egyptians, and it is still the poison remedy of choice in modern day emergency rooms. Why? Because it’s highly adsorptive, which in plain English means it attracts substances to its surface like a magnet. Like absorptive substances which work like a sponge, adsorptive materials bind with certain compounds and prevent our bodies from using them.

If your not so hip on using powdered tooth then here are some more all natural recipes.

This is a must read powerful book. The Fluoride Deception documents a powerful connection between big corporations, the U.S. military, and the historic reassurances of fluoride safety provided by the nation’s public health establishment. The Fluoride Deception reads like a thriller, but one supported by two hundred pages of source notes, years of investigative reporting, scores of scientist interviews, and archival research in places such as the newly opened files of the Manhattan Project and the Atomic Energy Commission. The book is nothing less than an exhumation of one of the great secret narratives of the industrial era: how a grim workplace poison and the most damaging environmental pollutant of the cold war was added to our drinking water and toothpaste.

FACT: The number of people suffering from hypothyroidism continues to rise each year. Levothyroxine is the 4th highest selling drug in the U.S.

It seems the current medical industry has  been abducted by the pharmaceutical industry. In our society we have become so blinded by the Big Pharma propaganda. Once you are labeled with a disease or a condition most of the  medications prescribed have horrible side effects and can lead to other issues but in reality these medications only mask the real issue at hand.

“Our prescription drugs are the third leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer. Our drugs kill around 200,000 people in America every year, and half of these people die while they do what their doctors told them—so they die because of the side-effects,” said Dr. Gotzsche in his recent interview. “The other half die because of errors—and it’s often the doctors that make the errors because any drug may come with 20, 30 or 40 warnings, contraindications, precautions…and then the patients die.”

NSAIDs as an example of only one group of medications, are fatally toxic to thousands of people each year by damaging joints, lungs, kidneys, eyes, hearts, and intestines and they are covered by insurance companies.

This should come to you as no surprise but some  physicians actually receive compensation from the drug industry aka “Big Pharma”. (Choudhry, JAMA 2002; 287: 612-617). Also, our part of the government that is in charge of approving drugs called the FDA has advisers with financial ties  (and is heavily lobbied by) the very drug industry that is seeking its approval. And as the New England Journal of Medicine and Journal of the American Medical Association warm, even the hired clinical investigators for new drugs may have their price. ‘  Did you know that 70 percent of Americans  are taking prescription drugs?

Even some of our most prestigious journals publish research based on falsified studies, according to Charles Seife, a journalism professor whose class spent a semester trying to figure out why the data doesn’t get corrected once research fraud comes to light.  “As a result,” Seife writes, “Nobody ever finds out which data is bogus, which experiments are tainted, and which drugs might be on the market under false pretenses.”. Is Big Pharma America’s New Mafia?

Light Bulb Moment: Why can’t we cure what ails us without pharmaceuticals?

Now, if you read anything in this blog make sure you hear me when I say, ” Don’t stop taking your medications”. You need to work with a doctor ,be monitored and follow their instructions. Your body might need those prescriptions and if you suddenly stop taking them, it might kill you. Therefore, you need to closely work with a Certified Naturopath Doctor in your area.

Throughout history medical science has sometimes been proven to not be that true in their “research” . These words like case studies, credible scientific evidence, scientifically tested,  scientific experiments and scientifically proven facts are all merely “theories” until they are proven wrong.

  • · Bloodletting was once proven to cure most illnesses. Now it is considered totally ineffective.
  • · Margarine was considered much healthier than butter. Now research suggests that the exact opposite is true.
  • · Eggs were considered very bad because of high cholesterol. Now research suggests that they are not bad at all, and they are actually healthy for the body.
  • · Chocolate and oily foods were touted to be a cause of acne. Now research suggest s that they do not contribute in any way to acne.
  • · Medical doctors touted that baby formula was much better than breast milk for children. Now the exact opposite is shown to be true.
  • · Milk was recommended for coating the stomach and alleviating stomach ulcers. Now it is discouraged and has been found to aggravate ulcers.
  • · Medical science stat ed that diet had absolutely no effect on disease or illness. Now we are told t hat diet has a huge effect on the prevention and cause of disease.
  • · Medical science once had scientific evidence that the removing of tonsils and appendix improved health and should be done to virtually everyone. Now the medical community has reversed that theory.
  • · Children with asthma were told to stay in enclosed pool areas because the humidity was good for their asthmatic condition. Now research suggests that the chlorine in the air from the pools actually aggravates and makes the asthma worse.
  • · The most obvious example of all is the fact that there are thousands of drugs that have been approved by the FDA because they were scientifically proven to cure or prevent disease, in addition to having been touted as safe. Then, years later, they have been taken off the market because they had been newly proven to either not cure or prevent those diseases as
  • originally thought, or those drugs were found to have such terribly adverse side effects that they are simply too dangerous for people to use.

16 Quotes On Poisons… I mean those magic Drugs our medical quacks prescribe.

1. “The cause of most disease is in the poisonous drugs physicians superstitiously give in order to effect a cure.” Charles E. Page, M.D.
2. “The greatest part of all chronic disease is created by the suppression of acute disease by drug poisoning.” Henry Lindlahr, M.D.
3. “Every educated physician knows that most diseases are not appreciably helped by medicine.” Richard C. Cabot, M.D. (Mass. Gen.Hospital)
4. “Medicines are of subordinate importance because of their very nature they can only work symptomatically.” Hans Kusche, M.D.
5. “If all the medicine in the world were thrown into the sea, it would be bad for the fish and good for humanity” O.W. Holmes, (Prof. of Med. Harvard University)
6. “Drug medications consists in employing, as remedies for disease, those things which produce disease in well persons. Its materia medica is simply a lot of drugs or chemicals or dye-stuffs in a word poisons. All are incompatible with vital matter; all produce disease when brought in contact in any manner with the living; all are poisons.” R.T. TraIl, M.D., in a two and one half hour lecture to members of congress and the medical profession, delivered at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.
7. “Drugs never cure disease. They merely hush the voice of nature’s protest, and pull down the danger signals she erects along the pathway of transgression. Any poison taken into the system has to be reckoned with later on even though it palliates present symptoms. Pain may disappear, but the patient is left in a worse condition, though unconscious of it at the time.” Daniel. H. Kress, M.D.
8. “Every drug increases and complicates the patients condition.” Robert Henderson, M.D.
9. “Medicine is only palliative, for back of disease lies the cause, and this cause no drug can reach.” Wier Mitchel, M.D.
10. “The person who takes medicine must recover twice, once from the disease and once from the medicine.” William Osler, M.D.
11. “Medical practice has neither philosophy nor common sense to recommend it. In sickness the body is already loaded with impurities. By taking drug – medicines more impurities are added, thereby the case is further embarrassed and harder to cure.” Elmer Lee, M.D., Past Vice President, Academy of Medicine.
12. “Our figures show approximately four and one half million hospital admissions annually due to the adverse reactions to drugs. Further, the average hospital patient has as much as thirty percent chance, depending how long he is in, of doubling his stay due to adverse drug reactions.” Milton Silverman, M.D. (Professor of Pharmacology, University of California)
13. “Why would a patient swallow a poison because he is ill, or take that which would make a well man sick.” L.F. Kebler, M.D.
14. “What hope is there for medical science to ever become a true science when the entire structure of medical knowledge is built around the idea that there is an entity called disease which can be expelled when the right drug is found?” John H. Tilden, M.D.
15. “The necessity of teaching mankind not to take drugs and medicines, is a duty incumbent upon all who know their uncertainty and injurious effects; and the time is not far distant when the drug system will be abandoned.” Charles Armbruster, M. D.
16. “We are prone to thinking of drug abuse in terms of the male population and illicit drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. It may surprise you to learn that a greater problem exists with millions of women dependent on legal prescription drugs.” Robert Mendelsohn, M.D

Are you starting to see my point?

The root cause of nearly all diseases can be linked to  an overload of toxins and chemicals accumulating inside your body.  Most people ignore the toxic overload that is taking a toll on their bodies. Western medicine teaches us that almost all illnesses are caused by germs or genetics. So the money making solution is to slap a name on it. Label each disease (over 10,000 of them) and then have us believe that each one can be remedied by surgery or drugs.

Think about it  this– fish can’t live in toxic water, no matter how fancy the food is that you’re feeding them.

Neither can our bodies thrive if they are toxic.

5 Things you need to working on.

#1: Immune System

#2: Digestive System

#3: Inflammation

#4:  Stress

#5:  Start Being Aware

……

” I don’t know where to start.”

I know, there is so much information overload that most people are confused as to where to start.  You can start by taking ownership of your health. I wanted you to understand or get a idea of how everything has a part to play in your body. I am on a  path to help you, lead you and inform you through this terrible illness. Being diagnosed with hypothyroidism isn’t just here take this pill and it will fix your issues. Hypothyroidism has a root cause. Once you start addressing the root of your problems then your body can start healing itself. Your body is an awesome design but there is a complex balance between everything. It’s a domino affect. If you have something in your body that is overworked  it will cause a major shift in your body. Don’t worry the good news is it can be healed.

3 Primary Factors Leading to Underactive Thyroid

1.Your Diet- avoid Gluten, Soy and start adding foods rich in iodine.

 2.Stress-

Stress is one of the worst thyroid offenders, as your thyroid function is intimately tied to your adrenal function, which in turn is intimately affected by how you handle stress.

Many of us are under chronic stress, which results in increased adrenalin and cortisol levels, and elevated cortisol has a negative impact on thyroid function. Thyroid hormone levels drop during stress, while you actually need more thyroid hormones during stressful times.

When stress becomes chronic, the flood of stress chemicals (adrenalin and cortisol) produced by your adrenal glands interferes with thyroid hormones and can contribute to obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, unstable blood sugar, and more. A prolonged stress response can lead to adrenal exhaustion (also known as adrenal fatigue), which is often found alongside thyroid disease

3.Environmental Chemicals-Your thyroid hormones are very vulnerable to chemicals in the environment.

Honestly, What it’s Really Like To Have Hypothyroidism?

There no real way to sugar coat having hypothyroidism, I like to call it  “ The Invisible Disease”. Many people with hypothyroidism  often feel as if  they’ve  lost control over their own bodies and mental health. Some people are blessed to only have a few symptoms and others seem as if every area of their functioning life has been affected by this disorder.  A lack of energy, anxiety, depression, weight gain, scary heart palpitations, brain fog, our sleeping cycles are disrupted, thin eye brows,  body temperature, appetite, fertility, hair loss, constipation, increased or decreased blood pressure,  numbness in your finger tips, an emotional roller coaster, aches and pains that you can’t explain are only a few things associated with having hypothyroidism. The simplest tasks can seem like the hardest. Many of us don’t really understand the whole life impact of our condition, because the wide ranging  symptoms of hypothyroidism are often brushed off as being part of everyday life, stress or getting older.

After being diagnosis you were probably relieved and excited to finally have an answer, some kind of answer,  to what have been going on with your body but soon you were disappointed again only to find out that  the thyroid medications that you thought was going bring you back to yourself only fixed a few of your symptoms and your still having to deal with a dozen more remaining issues. Your are tired of hearing, its all in your head too. You want to scream to the world and let everyone know that your quality of life has drastically been affected and there has to be answers.

Somewhere, Someone, Anyone at this point, hello? Help me , I feel like I am drowning, slowly dying and the world just keeps turning.  Why isn’t anyone listening to me?

You see, the main problem with hypothyroidism is a very tricky condition and complicated disorder to manage. There is no one size fits all program when you are dealing with hypothyroidism.

Your quality of life is affected.

Have you ever stopped to think what the underlying reason to why you hypothyroidism?

Many different factions can play a role in your thyroid health. We do know that hypothyroidism is a chronic condition of an under-active thyroid in which it affects millions of Americans.  Environmental chemicals and toxins , pesticides, BPA, thyroid endocrine disruptors, iodine imbalance, other medications, fluoride, overuse of soy products, cigarette smoking and gluten intolerance.  A nonprofit group called Beyond Pesticides warns us that 60% of pesticides used today have been shown to affect the thyroids glands production of T3 and T4 hormones. All these commercially available insecticides and fungicides are also just as guilty.

We need a our thyroid in order to live and feel good.  Our thyroid is our master gland of metabolism and energy.  Basically, our thyroid hormone tells all the cells in our bodies how busy they should be. Your cells are not getting enough oxygen and energy that is required for every singly body function to work properly. It impacts our entire body from our head to our feet.

One-thing many  thyroid patients have in common is having to deal with is a world that can’t apprehend our struggles, fails to notice the importance, downplays it at times and sometimes we are even looked down upon for our condition.

Hypothyroidism isn’t “easy to diagnose”e nor is it “easy to treat”.  It’s a shame that a  vast majority of medical professionals are poorly trained in the treatment of hypothyroidism. It’s really is a uncharted territory.

(A tale of caution: Your doctor is trying to provide the best treatment for you within his or her

Knowledge. But doctors are not taught about nutrition in medical school – only about disease. Most doctors do not receive but a few hours training on nutrition during their four years of medical school. The pharmaceutical industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. It provides much of the funding for research in medical schools and nearly all of the advertising in medical journals. It’s the old GOLDEN RULE: he who has the gold – rules! So doctors learn about medication and disease.)

I wish somebody had given me a step-by-step road-map back when I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism. The solutions in my books have helped so many people. I’ve done my best to pull from all their expertise, as well as my own knowledge and clinical experience. I want to make it easy for you to find the answers quickly, all in the one place, because I’m all too familiar with that awful side effects of hypothyroidism. I certainly don’t want you to have to spend years finding solutions, like I did. I also what you to understand that there isn’t an  easy “one pill” solution, but the “one pill” approach that our current medical system is using is NOT WORKING because the underlying cause for hypothyroidism is not being addressed.

After being diagnosed with hypothyroidism over 25 years ago. I knew there was something more than just being labeled with a medical condition. There wasn’t a lot of information on how to heal myself from the inside out. You really must begin to understand that there really isn’t a one size fits all diet for everyone who is has been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism but there are certain ways you can eat that will certainly help begin the healing process. Diet alone isn’t enough to help your body start fighting this battle that is raging in your body. The food you eat is your first line of defense against hypothyroidism. You must start addressing other areas in your life.

My new purpose is to empower people to embrace who they are, to add value to their life, to inspire them and to connect with those who are struggling with hypothyroidism.  You need to realize that you have to invest in your health. You are worth investing money into yourself and take charge of your health. Will it “hurt” a little? Ha, you bet, but it will change your life.

Look into getting a  Knowledgeable Health Practitioner:

The main reason why you should work with a knowledgeable health practitioner is its  patient-centered medical healing at its best. Unfortunately  when it comes to hypothyroidism there isn’t a one size fits all approach to dealing with it and often times you are left still searching for the answers to your symptoms when all you want is your zest for life back. A knowledgeable health practitioner will care for you as a individual as they won’t look at your body as a whole they will treat each individual body symptom, imbalance and dysfunction. They certainly move from the confusion of the “one size fits all treatment” approach that we know isn’t working to the one that will cater to what you body needs.  Let’s not forget that each of us are a unique case and unless you get a proper thorough clinical evaluation, trying to figure what medical advise you need online is dubious at best.

Speed Up Your Metabolism With Slim & Sassy Essential Oil Blend

doTERRA Slim & Sassy Metabolic Blend - 15 mL
I am writing this blog to brag on this amazing product that has really lifted me up. Not only has this wonderful product to curved my appetite,  I can definitely see a difference in my energy levels throughout the day. The Slim & Sassy Metabolic Blend is one of those that does work for me. It works as a mild appetite suppressant  and trust me I need that. I also feel that it leaves a VERY pleasant taste in my mouth, and on my breath. The taste is strong, so be warned, it’s pungent and like I mentioned its very pleasant along with being refreshing but you will get use to it and after a while  you wont even notice the strong smell.
I started out with one drop in my 24 oz. glass water bottle every-time I filled it and I also have 2 decaffeinated green tea bags in the water bottle.  Although it is recommended that you put four drops in 4 oz. water. I wanted to get my body use to it and adjusted therefore I started off  with it very diluted.  I love it in my water bottle, and I just sip on it all day. Makes me feel so refreshed and I want to exercise! I just love how the citrus undertone tingles my lips a bit as I sip on it.  The scent is very invigorating and its all natural nothing artificial.

I also like to apply this to my problem areas (thighs, upper arms, waist, lower stomach, & buttocks) in the morning and at night, before bed and let me add that since I’ve been   I applying it to my problem area’s the Mosquito’s aren’t bothering me much anymore and it has really helped with  my seasonal allergies.

Quick Facts:
This blend is designed to help control hunger and to help limit excessive calorie intake. The oils in this blend are calming to the stomach and work to improve emotional well-being. This blend is most effective when combined with exercise and healthy eating.
.
Common Primary Uses:

Cellulite
Obesity
Overeating
Weight Loss

Application:
Apply on wrists, bottoms of the feet, or on area of concern.

Single Oils in This Blend:
Grapefruit: is balancing and uplifting to the mind. It has been used medicinally by the French to help with cellulite and digestion.

Lemon: is invigorating, enhancing, and warming. It promotes health, healing, and energy.

10 Things You can Do To Give Your a Adrenals A Reboot

adrenalglasses

Too much of these adrenal hormones can cause you to have:

Anxiety and nervousness, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, headaches, insomnia
irritability,
low sex drive, shaky, allergies and pure exhaustion.

Many of us find ourselves in this cycle of so much responsibility that at times it seems impossible to manage. We are over worked and the chronic stress is breaking us down. We load up on caffeine to get us going in the morning, sugary snacks in the afternoon for that slump, a glass of wine in the evenings to unwind , and let’s not mention the sleep aids to help with our insomnia. All of this abuse on our bodies is disrupting our body’s normal rhythms.  We are throwing ourselves into a world wind of constant exhaustion, malnutrition, ripple moments of burnouts, personality changes, and hormonal imbalances.

The walnut size gland called your adrenal has an enormous job.  It produces many hormones that will regulate our body’s functions including a major player called cortisol. If we have to much cortisol our body will stay in a heightened state of emergency and after time it will start to break down. Since our adrenal glands can’t tell the difference between us stressed out or if its a true emergency it will continue to do its job.

If our cortisol levels are staying elevated, it begins to interfere with many other area’s of  our body which are the immune system,  digestion, sleep, and even the ability to produce other essential hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and YES you named it last but not least our THYROID.  So this can explain if  your getting sick more often, upset stomach, heart burn, can’t sleep for long periods of time or you need help with going to sleep. What about that muffin top that you have hanging around your midsection? Could be a build of all the extra cortisol your adrenals are producing. This is where its stored in your abdominal fat.

Here are 9 Things You can Do To Give Your a Adrenals A Reboot:

1.Never skip Breakfast

We must fuel our bodies with the right foods try a vegetable omelet cooked in coconut oil, a smoothie, gluten free oatmeal with chia seeds and topped with blueberries.

2. Cut out sugar (including natural sugars)

Are you having sugar cravings? Eating sugar is making your adrenal glands work harder.  Stop indirectly making your adrenal gland producing extra cortisol to fight the excess sugar.

3.Eat more clean proteins and healthy fats

Eating clean and loaded your body with the needed health fats would benefit your body.  Organic meats are always best. Try to eat more beef, wild fish, eggs, free-range chicken,  good quality protein powders along with avocado, coconut, nuts and seeds, real butter, raw cheese and other organic  dairy products.

5.Cut out the caffeine

Caffeine adds stress to your adrenal glands and the endocrine system. caffeine will stimulate you adrenals causeing them to adrenaline and cortisol in the exact same way as they do during a ‘fight or flight’ reaction.

6.Stay hydrated

Staying well hydrated is super important no matter what. Add a little Himalayan  sea salt and freshly squeezed lemon to your water glass in the morning.

7.Eat bone broth and seaweed

Bone broth has been proven to reduce inflammation and  boost the immune system. It is easy on our digestive system where we can absorb the essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids that it provides. Seaweed is rich in minerals and phytonutrients that is much needed for our thyroid. Sprinkle a little kelp or dulse flakes on  your broth.

8.Start Eating Fermented foods

Fermented foods are really great for your immune system and gives your digestive health a must needed boost of ‘good bacteria’ .

9.Strengthen Your Gut with a Quality Probiotic

Probiotic supplements are a convenient way to deliver additional beneficial bacteria to the gut because they don’t require any cooking or meal planning.

10. Avoid empty calorie foods

Cakes, cookies, pastries, sodas, cheese, pizza, sports drinks, ice cream, hot dogs and bacon, all contain empty calories. Your body needs fuel and fuel comes from food in the form of calories. Calories let you function and keep doing your everyday activities. Foods with empty calories have lots of calories but very few nutrients like vitamins and minerals.

The best foods for a Adrenal Reboot are:

  • Organ meats (e.g. liver)
  • Fish- never farmed fish
  • Organic meats (e.g. beef, chicken)
  • Eggs- high quality
  • Low sugar fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Beans
  • Whole, gluten free sprouted grains like quinoa and wild rice
  • Avocado
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Organic dairy products

The  worst foods for a Adrenal Reboot are:

  • High sugar fruits
  • Sugary snacks
  • Fast food
  • Processed foods
  • Refined grains (e.g. white bread)
  • Dried fruits
  • Coffee

If you have something in your body that is overworked  it will cause a major shift in your body. Don’t worry the good news is it can be healed.

One of the biggest issues is that many patients are being under treated or under dosed.

Not all medications are created equal. Trust and believe that! Also, medications can interact with other medications or interfere with how your body works.  Sort of like help one thing but hinder another.

So much of our lives revolve around food. Its a staple everywhere from ads on social media to mouth watering  commercials  on television. I am a major foodie to the point where all of my books are about food! I blog about food all the time. Food is certainly a social lubricant at meetings, family gatherings,  award dinners, and basically every function you must attend but loathe with every being of your fiber. Food understands our emotions in ways no words will never. It certainly makes it easier to bear and a lot less painful with the understanding  that something tasty might be at that gathering that you are dragging yourself to attend.   It’s all fun and games until we step on that scale , we can’t button our pants or our skin starts to break out with acne like we are hormonal teenagers . What we eat should be fun, healthy, healing, sometimes funky and always fresh.

A least less talked about area that people seem to ignore is starting to become more widely recognized. It’s food sensitivities. Most of the time these sensitivities seem to be more of a annoyance and not an immediate and/or severe allergic reaction. Therefore more people with food sensitivities are willing to annoy it, never look into their symptom’s without realizing that it can actually be disastrous to their health. More doctors, mainstream media journals and clinical practices are starting to realize how if they can start to identify and remove the  food sensitivities it can and will improve the  overall health and well-being of a individual. Thus, leading to a much better quality of life.
200088_1961135186835_5269736_n

A food sensitivity has a  delayed allergic reaction. Food sensitivities trigger the delayed antibody response after being consumed.  For example, there are four different antibodies involved in a delayed reaction. IgG, IgA, IgM, and IgD — each of which can have a different and significant effect on our immune system.

Sometimes the delayed response can take up to three weeks before symptoms may appear. This makes it very hard to pin point which food, pollen, or substance is the cause of your symptoms! Some of the more common health concerns that can be triggered by a food sensitivity are:

  • Digestive disorders (gas, bloating, cramping, diarrhea, nausea)
  • Migraines
  • Weight gain
  • Mood/Attention disorder (anxiety, depression, irritability, hyperactivity, lack of concentration)
  • Joint pain/muscle stiffness
  • Skin conditions (itching, redness, swelling, eczema, rashes)
  • Lung conditions (Asthma, Bronchitis)
  • Loss of memory
  • Fatigue
  • General malaise

Americans are in such a pathetic health crisis. We have the abundance of everything at our finger tips but yet we 1 in 3 people are on some sort of medication. It doesn’t matter if it’s Prescribed or over the counter. Meanwhile, there are people around the world who are in better health than the average American and they don’t have to be on some sort of medication but yet they seem to be in  their correct body mass index. New York Times best-selling author and Blue Zones Founder  Dan Buettner has written a book called: The Blue Zone Solution in his book he speaks about how people in these blue zones are living to be over 100 years old.  We are in such a state of denial. Every Cell in your body responds to the foods you consume.  These foods have a direct impact on your hormones and in return your hormones have a direct impact on every major system in your body. So many of us have these crazy phantom-like health problems.  Our body is lacking certain nutrients that heavily influence the function of every cell in our body while certain foods can inhibit your body’s ability to absorb the replacement nutrients needed.

Look at it another way. When is the last time that you seen a  Azodicarbonamide grazing in a field or  Sodium benzoate being grown in a garden?

  • Artificial Sweeteners. …
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup. …
  • Monosodium Glutamate (MSG / E621) …
  • Trans Fat. …
  • Common Food Dyes. …
  • Sodium Sulfite (E221) …
  • Sodium Nitrate/Sodium Nitrite. …
  • BHA And BHT (E320)

Many different underlying reasons can play a role. We do know that hypothyroidism is a chronic condition of an underactive thyroid and affects millions of Americans.

Hypothyroidism means what exactly?

Hypothyroidism means your thyroid is not making enough thyroid hormone. Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the front of your throat. It makes the hormones that control the way your body uses energy. Basically, our thyroid hormone tells all the cells in our bodies how busy they should be. Our bodies will go into overdrive with too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) and our bodies slow down with too little thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism). The most common causes of hypothyroidism worldwide is dietary and environmental. The most common cause of hypothyroidism is dietary and environmental! What does that mean exactly? That means you need to be eat to cater to your thyroid and stop using all these harmful chemicals to clean your home with and put on your body! It’s not hard. Yes, a little adjustment will be needed but isn’t everything we do in life for the better of our health worth a little inconvenience until it becomes a habit?

“You must realize that the thyroid has a relationship with all the hormones. It’s a very complex balance and there is no straight forward treatment of just treating your thyroid alone. 1st you must make sure your adrenal glands are in total support. Adrenal fatigue is a very common amongst people with hypothyroidism.  Next you have to get your cortisol levels stabilized. Having hypothyroidism your cortisol levels are already above average. Next finding the right medication for you. Everyone is different it isn’t an easy one size fits all task.”

So this bullshit is up to you!

Start following my plan & listen to your body!!

3006_1163540167458_5209095_n

You have to start removing the thyroid suppressive foods that are in your diet and instead focus on the right foods that stimulate your thyroid to produce an abundant amount of thyroid hormone to keep your cells happy and healthy. When you eat foods full of thyroid suppressive toxins its just like throwing fuel on the fire. This will only continue to drain you of your energy, continue to make your symptoms worse, promote even more inflammation in  your body, contribute to a leaky gut and further damage your thyroid.

Listen to me when I say  there’s a major disconnect between what YOU believe to be healthy foods and what research tells us is healthy. In fact, many of the health foods today that people go out of their way to eat daily are extremely thyroid suppressive.

It seems that the  testing for thyroid is a dead end road at times  with the test appearing to be normal but you has all the symptoms. Get this, your blood work can look just fine but there is major resistance at the receptor site. Most practitioners are unfamiliar with natural treatments for the thyroid and the meds they give sometimes just don’t work. Some  doctors just don’t have a lot of experience with alternative treatments. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. This is where you come into play. You have to take control of  your health! Your gut’s ability to digest and absorb critical nutrients is very important for proper thyroid hormone health.

I am telling you to not fucking listen to what they are saying… Do your own research… learn how to read test results and become your own health advocate!! No body else will do it for you but you…

disclaimer:::::::::::::::: Bitches::::::::::::::::::: Listen::::::::::::::::  I am here to help & educate. I am not a medical doctor nor  your personal guru specialist. …. You’ve got to do this!

A full thyroid panel for hypothyroidism should at least include these 7 key thyroid lab tests:
TSH
Free T4
Free T3
Reverse T3
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies
Thyroglobulin Antibodies
Reverse T3

How Is Hypothyroidism Diagnosed?

If you have symptoms of hypothyroidism, your doctor will order blood tests to check hormone levels. Lower-than-normal T4 levels usually mean you have hypothyroidism.
However, some people may have increased TSH levels while having normal T4 levels. This is called subclinical (mild) hypothyroidism. It is believed to be an early stage of hypothyroidism. If your test results or physical exam of the thyroid are abnormal, your doctor may order a thyroid ultrasound, or thyroid scan, to check for nodules or inflammation.

Who Are You And Why Should I Listen To You? What makes your tips different from all the other million guru’s out there?

I didn’t always use to be a  super healthy hypothyroidism health fanatic that I am today. I started out as a 25 year old recently diagnosed young mother with a new “label”. Struggling a fulltime job, 3 kids under that age of 3 and I ate what I could to what it seemed to merely survive.  I didn’t know that I had to eat to cater to my thyroid. All I knew was I was exhausted, mentally fogged, bloated, my hair was falling our, bags for days under my eyes and felt like completely horrible. I also didn’t know the 1st thing about eating healthy. The only exercise that I got was sitting down in front of the t.v. briefly to catch a break from my chaotic life. I only later joined the gym because they offered free childcare and I needed that precious time away to regroup and gather what I felt was left of my sanity.

I started to research about the side effects of an unhealthy thyroid and how diet does take a toll on the body. So, I decided to make a commitment to change for a better me.  Even though I loathed exercising and  hated every thing that I becoming. I began to  research about what to eat for my thyroid. I soon discovered how to change my mindset and stick with a healthy eating plan that allowed me to shed those 30 pounds of fat around my midsection and gain a cute ass in the process.

Since then I have managed to help others accomplish losing weight and gaining their energy back that your thyroid seems to of forgotten to produce.

People have managed to go from eating ghastly diets that never catered to their thyroid to doing a complete 180 and moving that muffin top back in the muffin pan where it belongs.  And most importantly, I will teach you why you should make these healthier habits.

You see, by following the valuable information and life changing techniques you will read in all of my articles,  you’ll discover how to successfully stick to your new way of eating.

Today, I am a health coach and the author of five of  Amazon most popular hypothyroidism books.   A survivors cookbook guide to kicking hypothyroidism booty, Reset your Thyroid, The Ultimate guide to healing hypothyroidism ,  A survivors cookbook guide to kicking hypothyroidism booty: the slow cooker way ,   Hypothyroidism Clarity: How to transition your family  and  Hypothyroidism: The Beginners Guide: How to stop surviving and start thriving.  I am also the creator and found of the popular website thehypothyroidismchick.com and lets not forget to mention the popular Facebook Group : Healing Hypothyroidism Support Group.

I write my blogs because I want to help others avoid all of the mistakes I’ve made, and give you the secrets that I’ve picked up over the years for how to make healthy decisions even when if you’re on a busy, and/or unmotivated.  A lot of the information I’ve picked up after spending hundreds of hours on research to figure out what works and what doesn’t. You’re going to save all that time and money and just gain the helpful insights I’ve picked up in one easy to read and a valuable guided blog.

These new changes that  you will acquire  are based on what has worked for me and many others.  You may find this is simply a launch pad for your own personal growth design. So , I need you to open your mind and give this useful tools and techniques a chance to start to change things in all aspects of your life, but don’t allow this to be the only  means to your success.  All my blogs can do  is provide you with tools, but it is up to you to take action and be the source to your success.

My blogs are NOT for…

People looking for an “easy” fix and who want to avoid a challenge.

The Role of Food in Your Hypothyroidism Journey

Your really never know the true role the food industry has in your journey.

Have you ever stopped to think what the underlying reason why you have hypothyroidism?

Many different underlying reasons can play a role. We do know that hypothyroidism is a chronic condition of an underactive thyroid and affects millions of Americans. Environmental chemicals and toxins, pesticides, BPA, thyroid endocrine disruptors, iodine imbalance, other medications, fluoride, overuse of soy products, cigarette smoking, and gluten intolerance. One cannot think well, love well, and sleep well if one has not dined well.

—Virginia Woolf 1882-1941, A Room of One’s Own

A diet for hypothyroidism should include whole foods rich in iodine:

whole baked organic potatoes with skin, cod, dried seaweed, shrimp, Himalayan crystal salt, baked turkey breast, dried prunes, navy beans, tuna, boiled eggs, lobster, cranberries, and green beans. Niacin-rich foods (required for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are tuna, chicken, prunes, bananas, turkey, salmon, sardines, and brown rice.

Riboflavin-rich foods:

Raw almonds, eggs, mushrooms, sesame seeds, salmon, and tuna.

Zinc: (as well as vitamins B6, C, and E, iodine) is a major component of thyroid hormone balance and is antimicrobial. Zinc-rich foods (boost thyroid function) are white cooked button mushrooms, chickpeas, kidney beans, dark chocolate (70 percent or higher), pumpkin, squash seeds, and almonds.

Selenium-rich foods: (helps to convert T-4 to T-3) are Brazil nuts and tuna.

High-polyphenols foods: (acts as an anti-fungal) are cocoa powder, dark chocolate, coffee, tea, flaxseed meal, red raspberries, blueberries, black currants.

Vitamin B6–rich foods: (required for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are raw unsalted sunflower seeds, quinoa, raw pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, flaxseeds, pistachio nuts, cashews, tuna, halibut, salmon, dried prunes, bananas, avocados,  dried apricots, and raisins.

Vitamin C–rich foods: (boost thyroid gland function) are bell peppers, dark leafy greens, kiwis, broccoli, berries, citrus fruits, tomatoes, peas, and papayas.

Riboflavin-rich foods: (or vitamin b2—essential for normal manufacture of thyroid hormone) are frozen peas, beets, crimini mushrooms, eggs, asparagus, almonds, and turkey.

Vitamin E–rich foods: (work with zinc and vitamin A to produce thyroid hormone) are raw almonds, shrimp, avocados, quinoa, salmon, extra-virgin olive oil, and cooked butternut squash.

See you are NOT limited to what you can eat with hypothyroidism. You have many options to what you can eat and why you need to be eating this. Here are more foods and YES you may read repeats from the paragraph above but I want you to see what an abundance of foods that you can eat. The only limit you have in the kitchen is your imagination. My recipes are a starting point. You can start to creating your favorite recipes and healing your thyroid as you eat! Is your Hypothyroidism Self Sabotaging your Workouts?

Image result for health exercise

We all know that regular exercise is an important part of your overall health. Exercise burns calories to prevent weight gain and helps speed up your metabolism. It is also a releases endorphins to give you those mood-enhancing chemicals. What if I told you that exercise can cause adrenal crashes due to your already high cortisol issues? You could be stressing your thyroid out even more and not even realizing it. Are you exercising but not getting any results? Are you still gaining weight, feeling constantly fatigued, irritable and moody and often battling some other sort of sickness? You could be  actually stressing your body more out by over-exercising.

The magic word here is cortisol.

Cortisol, a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal gland. It is released in response to stress. When you are stressed, your body releases certain “fight-or-flight” stress hormones that are produced in the adrenal glands: cortisol, norepinephrine and epinephrine. Staying stressed raises your cortisol levels and your body actually resists weight loss. Your body thinks times are hard and you might starve, so it hoards the fat you eat or what you have presently on your body. Cortisol will grab fat from your butt and hips, and move it to your abdomen which has more cortisol receptors. Hello there Mrs. Muffin Top!

Today most of us are in a chronic stress state. However, our body don’t know the  difference between car troubles, relationship issues, debt, work pressure and truly life-threatening stress. This is why our body still ready to defend and reacts exactly the same as it always has done.

Over-exercising can:

  • Deplete hormones necessary for the functioning of the body
  • Cause gradual bone loss
  • Increase injuries
  • Cause cramping of muscles
  • Add to inflammation
  • Increase healing time
  • Affect cardiac function
  • Affect blood flow
  • Decrease the ability of muscles to use fatty acids as a source of energy
  • Reduce endurance

Here are a few things you can start to incorporate into your life:

1.Limit your caffeine to 200 milligrams a day. ( This is equal to about one 12 oz cup of coffee)

2. Start eating a true Keto diet. In doing this  you will  avoid simple carbs, processed foods, and refined grains, and get plenty of high-quality protein, healthy fats and great vegetables.

3. It’s okay to say NO! Take time to relax, take a nap, distress and recuperate.

4. Start building your endurance back slowly.

5. Get a heart rate monitor and use it. Know your heart rate comfort zone.

6. Listen to your body. How do you feel the next day? Do you need an extra day to recover?

7. Set realistic goals, one step at a time and don’t get discouraged.

8.   Try a  Low-impact aerobics workout . Something to get your heart rate up and your lungs going without putting too much pressure on your joints, which is important because joint pain is another common hypothyroidism symptom.

9. Strength training is good.  Strength training builds muscle mass, and muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you’re at rest.

10. Get some sleep!

Just think how great its going to feel when you are as healthy on the inside as you look on the outside! The ultimate goal isn’t to look fit but to be fit.

Sometimes we have to do a little pruning of the branches, in order for the tree to be healthy again. A number of things can be the reason why you have hormonal imbalances, food intolerances, thyroid issues, adrenal fatigue, weight gain, insomnia, personality changes, leaky gut, depression, an autoimmune disorder, chronic pain, no metabolism and low sex drive, bloating, anxiety, menstrual problems and infertility. It starts with becoming aware and how your health can be influenced by many different circumstances.
How would you define good health? Logically one would define good health as absence of a disease or following some sort of ground rules that avoid developing a disease. This book can help you begin to understand what a Keto Autoimmune protocol is and start guiding you in the redevelopment and healing of your body. You will begin to understand how to fix your gut, strengthen your immunity and fight inflammation with an autoimmune approach. The Keto AIP removes all the common inflammatory food triggers that stimulate a possible autoimmune reaction in the body. Along with helping to reset those adrenals, boosting that energy and doing a little ass kicking to those hormones that have decided to act like a wild college student and pull an all-nighter the day before final exams.
Your health doesn’t have to be a difficult situation but a positive realization that things need to change. This new lifestyle change has many parts to it and I hope you will embrace not only the physical but the spiritual awakening. Common food intolerances that are known to trigger inflammation are eliminated in this Keto AIP protocol are Nightshades, Eggs, Grains (gluten), Dairy, Legumes, Corn, Soy, Dairy and lectins.
