Policy Paupers: The Untold Struggles of Underpaid Insurance Agents By A.L. Childers, ACA Health Insurance Writer and World-Renowned Author

When people think of insurance agents, they often picture professionals in suits with steady paychecks, reaping the rewards of a lucrative industry. What most people don’t see is the irony: ACA (Affordable Care Act) agents like myself—key players in connecting families to life-saving health coverage—are barely scraping by.

Yes, I’m a world-renowned author, but books don’t always pay the bills. And it turns out, being an ACA agent doesn’t either. Why? Because corporate greed and skewed priorities have turned agents into modern-day paupers, even as we play an essential role in a system designed to promote health and well-being.

The Realities of Being an ACA Agent

As ACA agents, we are the bridge between millions of uninsured Americans and the healthcare coverage they desperately need. We guide clients through a maze of terms like “deductibles” and “copayments,” ensuring they get the best possible plan. But despite the vital role we play, the compensation model for agents is laughable—and not in a funny way.

How We’re Paid

  • Companies make thousands of dollars from each ACA policy over its lifespan.
  • Agents, in contrast, earn as little as $2.50 to $10 per policy or hourly wages ranging from $15 to $20.

For example, last week, after working 40 hours and enrolling dozens of clients, I earned a grand total of $600. To make matters worse, I pay $50 per week out of pocket for the multi-state licenses my company requires.

The Hidden Costs of This Job

It’s not just the paltry paycheck. There are countless hidden costs that most people—and employers—overlook:

  1. Licensing Fees
Each state has its own licensing requirements, and if your company operates in multiple states, you’re responsible for paying to keep those licenses active. The costs can quickly climb into the hundreds or even thousands annually.
  2. Continuing Education
To maintain compliance, agents must complete ongoing education courses—often on their own time and dime.
  3. Legal Risks
We operate under strict compliance standards. If a client claims they were misinformed or lied about their circumstances (and let’s be real, some do), the agent—not the company—can face legal consequences.
  4. Unpaid Training
Recently, I was threatened with disciplinary action for not completing a 3-hour general agent (GA) test. On my own time. As a W-2 employee, shouldn’t I be paid for this? Apparently not.

When Clients “Forget” the Whole Conversation

One of the most frustrating parts of this job is dealing with clients who conveniently “forget” entire conversations. Imagine this: you spend an hour explaining options, selecting a zero-dollar premium plan, and ensuring everything is compliant. A month later, that same client claims they’ve never spoken to you.

How does someone forget a detailed conversation about their health insurance? They don’t. They lie. And without recorded calls, agents like me would have no defense.

The Bigger Picture: Corporate Greed

Let’s not beat around the bush: the companies profiting from ACA policies have created a system where agents, the backbone of their operations, are expendable.

  • These companies rake in billions in federal subsidies while nickel-and-diming the very people ensuring their success.
  • Instead of reinvesting in their workforce, they prioritize shareholder profits.

What Needs to Change

It’s time to demand better for ACA agents. Here’s how we can start:

  1. Fair Pay
Agents should receive a livable wage and a fair commission per policy—at least $50 to $100, reflecting the true value of our work.
  2. Paid Training
If companies require tests or certifications, they should compensate agents for their time.
  3. License Reimbursement
Companies should cover the cost of multi-state licensing for their agents.
  4. Transparency
Companies should be upfront about how much they profit from ACA policies and ensure agents receive a reasonable share of that revenue.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just about me. Thousands of ACA agents across the country face the same challenges. We’re expected to be healthcare navigators, compliance experts, and customer service reps—all for a paycheck that barely covers the basics.

The Affordable Care Act was designed to promote access and equity in healthcare. But how can the system truly succeed if the very agents facilitating it are undervalued and underpaid?

Final Thoughts

To my fellow agents: you are not alone. Keep advocating for yourselves and your clients. To the companies profiting from our labor: it’s time to share the wealth. And to clients who “forget” entire conversations—just know we have recordings.

Being an ACA agent is a labor of love, but love doesn’t pay the bills. Until the system changes, we’ll keep doing what we do best: helping others, even as we struggle ourselves.

The Great Irony: Saving Lives While Struggling to Make a Living By A.L. Childers, ACA Health Insurance Writer and World-Renowned Author

Imagine this: you’re on the front lines of healthcare access in America, ensuring families have coverage to avoid medical catastrophes, only to realize that your paycheck barely covers your own bills. This is the daily reality of an ACA health insurance agent.

Yes, I’m a world-renowned author, but let me be clear—writing books doesn’t always pay the bills, and neither does being an ACA agent. Why? Because corporate greed knows no bounds, and the very companies that profit from our hard work seem determined to undervalue us.

The Life of an ACA Agent: A Balancing Act of Dedication and Despair

As ACA agents, we pour our hearts into helping clients navigate a complex healthcare system. We spend hours explaining policies, ensuring compliance, and tailoring plans to fit individual needs. We’re there for people when they’re scared, confused, and desperate for solutions.

But while we work tirelessly for others, our own needs often go unmet.

Numbers That Don’t Add Up

Let’s break this down:

  • The average company makes thousands of dollars per ACA policy over its lifespan.
  • Agents are paid $10–$20 per hour, with some earning only $2.50–$10 per policy written.

Here’s a personal example: last week, I worked 40 hours and earned $600. That’s $15/hour. Meanwhile, the company profited significantly more from the policies I enrolled. To add insult to injury, I pay $50 weekly to maintain my licenses in multiple states—a requirement my employer mandates but doesn’t reimburse.

How is this sustainable? Spoiler alert: it’s not.

The Hidden Costs of Being an ACA Agent

Being an agent isn’t just about answering calls or filling out forms. It comes with hidden costs and risks:

  1. Licensing Fees: We’re required to be licensed in every state where our company sells policies, which adds up quickly.
  2. Continuing Education: Staying compliant means investing time and money into education courses.
  3. Unpaid Training: Recently, I was threatened with a write-up for not completing a 3-hour GA (general agent) test—on my own time. As a W-2 employee, why can’t the company pay me for this?
  4. Legal Liability: If a client lies about their enrollment, guess who’s on the hook? Us. Without recorded conversations, we’d be left defenseless against false allegations.

Clients Who “Forget”

Let me paint a picture: you spend an hour helping a client find the perfect zero-dollar premium plan. You record the call for compliance. A month later, they claim they’ve never spoken to you. Why? To dodge a bill, dispute a penalty, or just stir up chaos.

How could someone forget an entire conversation about their health insurance? They didn’t. They lied. And without recordings, we’d be left holding the bag.

Corporate Greed at Its Finest

The ACA was designed to make healthcare accessible, and agents are the backbone of that system. Yet the companies profiting from our work treat us like disposable cogs in a machine.

Consider this:

  • Companies make thousands of dollars per policy over its lifetime, but agents earn less than $10 per policy.
  • We’re expected to act as healthcare experts, compliance officers, and customer service reps, all while being underpaid and overworked.

What Needs to Change

  1. Fair Compensation: Agents deserve a livable wage and fair commissions that reflect the value we provide.
  2. Paid Training: Employers should compensate agents for required tests and courses.
  3. License Reimbursement: Companies should cover the cost of state licenses.
  4. Transparency: The public deserves to know how much companies profit from ACA policies and how little they pay the agents doing the work.

Why It Matters

This isn’t just about me—it’s about the thousands of agents across the country struggling to make ends meet while providing an essential service. We ensure families have healthcare, yet we’re treated as expendable.

To my fellow agents: keep fighting the good fight. To the companies: pay us what we’re worth. And to clients: please, for the love of all things holy, stop lying. We have the recordings.

This is a call to action—for better wages, better treatment, and a system that values the agents keeping it afloat. Until then, I’ll keep writing books, selling policies, and demanding the respect we all deserve.

The Great ACA Agent Rip-Off: Why Insurance Agents Deserve Better Pay for Their Unwavering Commitment

Insurance agents: the unsung heroes of healthcare. We work tirelessly to ensure people have access to affordable health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), bending over backward to meet their needs. We patiently explain policies to customers who sometimes act like they’ve never heard the word “deductible.” We navigate Byzantine licensing requirements, handle continuing education classes, and provide unparalleled customer service—all while the companies we work for are raking in profits and giving us peanuts in return.

The Harsh Reality: Agents Get Screwed While Companies Laugh All the Way to the Bank

Let’s talk numbers. Companies make thousands of dollars per ACA policy over the life of that policy, thanks to generous federal subsidies and incentives. And what do agents get? A pittance.

Consider this:

  • Some agents are paid as little as $2.50- $10 per policy written after it goes into effect.
  • Hourly wages can range from $15–$20/hour, barely enough to buy groceries, let alone pay rent.
  • If you’re a W-2 employee, your company might begrudgingly offer $20/hour—but then turn around and charge you $50 per week for state licenses to keep you legal.

I personally made $600 last week after working 40 hours. That’s $20/hour, after taxes. How is anyone supposed to live on that? Meanwhile, the company is pocketing thousands of dollars from the policies I wrote.

A Thankless Job: The Hidden Costs of Being an Agent

On top of the low pay, consider the financial and emotional burdens we shoulder:

  1. Licensing Fees: We have to pay for our licenses in every state where our company sells policies. That’s hundreds or even thousands of dollars out of pocket annually.
  2. Continuing Education: We’re held to the highest standards, and rightfully so—but the costs for required courses come out of our own pockets.
  3. Legal Risks: If a client decides to lie about their enrollment or coverage (because we all know people never lie—insert sarcasm here), we could face allegations or even lawsuits.
  4. Unpaid Work: My company recently threatened to write me up because I hadn’t completed a 3-hour GA (Georgia Access) test. On my own time. As a W-2 employee, why can’t they pay me to take this test?

Dealing with “Forgetful” Clients

Here’s a scenario every agent knows too well: you spend an hour helping someone find the perfect zero-dollar premium plan. You record the entire conversation for compliance. A month later, they claim they’ve never spoken to you. They’re trying to dodge a penalty, dispute a bill, or just cause chaos.

“How could you forget having an entire conversation about your health insurance policy?”
Answer: You didn’t forget. You’re lying. And thank goodness for recordings, or we’d be left holding the bag.

The Human Cost of Unlivable Wages

Insurance companies seem to forget that agents are people with bills to pay and families to support. How can anyone expect us to do a high-stakes, high-responsibility job on a poverty-level income? The ACA was designed to make healthcare accessible, but the agents making it happen are barely scraping by.

And it’s not just about the money—it’s about respect. We’re professionals providing an essential service. We’re the ones keeping the system running, yet we’re treated as disposable cogs in a corporate machine.

What Needs to Change

  1. Fair Pay: Companies should pay agents a livable wage that reflects the value we bring. At the very least, agents should receive a reasonable commission per policy (think $50–$100, not $10).
  2. Paid Training: If agents are required to take additional courses or tests, companies should pay us for our time.
  3. Licensing Assistance: Companies should cover licensing fees for the states where they require us to sell.
  4. Better Transparency: Companies need to be upfront about how much they profit from ACA policies and ensure agents get a fair share of that pie.

Final Thoughts

Insurance agents are the backbone of the ACA, yet we’re treated like an afterthought. The companies we work for make billions while we struggle to make ends meet. It’s time to demand better.

To my fellow agents: keep fighting the good fight. To the companies profiting from our labor: pay us what we’re worth.

And to the clients who claim they “don’t remember” enrolling in a zero-dollar premium plan: please. We’re not magicians—we don’t conjure policies out of thin air.

Let’s hope that one day, the healthcare system will be as fair to agents as it is to the people we serve. Until then, we’ll keep doing what we do best: working hard, staying professional, and fighting for what’s right—even if it’s just our paycheck.

We Didn’t Agree to This: How the Government Wastes Taxpayer Money While Treating Americans Like Peasants

“I didn’t agree to this,” a frustrated citizen said. “Neither did my children or grandchildren. Why should we be forced to pay for foreign projects while our own country is falling apart?”

This sentiment resonates across America, where taxpayers are fed up with watching their hard-earned money vanish into black holes of government spending. From missing trillions at the Pentagon to billions pledged to foreign conservation projects, the double standard couldn’t be clearer. The U.S. government seems adept at mismanaging funds while punishing its citizens for even the smallest tax oversight.

Let’s dive into the messy web of waste, misplaced priorities, and corruption that fuels this taxpayer nightmare.

The Missing Trillions: Where Is the Accountability?

The Pentagon has a well-documented history of financial mismanagement. On September 10, 2001, then-Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld admitted that $2.3 trillion was unaccounted for. This shocking revelation was overshadowed by the tragic events of 9/11 the next day, and the story was conveniently forgotten.

Fast-forward to today, and little has changed. In 2023, a Department of Defense audit revealed seven accounts with untraceable funds, amounting to $220 billion. Imagine losing $220 billion at your job—there’d be lawsuits, terminations, and public outrage. Yet, for the government, it’s business as usual.

Meanwhile, if you owe the IRS $2, you’ll face relentless harassment, garnished wages, and potentially lose your home. The contrast couldn’t be starker.

Foreign Spending While Americans Suffer

The most recent insult to taxpayers comes in the form of a $1 billion pledge to conserve the Ecuadorian Amazon. While protecting rainforests is important, Americans are left asking: Why are we funding this when our own country is in crisis?

  • Hurricane Helene Victims
In North Carolina, thousands are still living in tents after Hurricane Helene destroyed their homes. A family of 11 froze to death, and a baby recently died of hypothermia. The government’s response? A mere $750 per household for disaster relief.
  • Homelessness Crisis
Over half a million Americans are homeless, including veterans who served this country. Cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco are overwhelmed by encampments, yet billions flow overseas for foreign aid.
  • Crippling Infrastructure
From collapsing bridges to contaminated water systems, America’s infrastructure is falling apart. The American Society of Civil Engineers gave U.S. infrastructure a D+, yet there’s no multi-billion-dollar plan to fix it.

Where Does All the Money Go?

If you’re wondering where your taxes are being spent, the answers are troubling. The government routinely prioritizes foreign projects, war efforts, and corporate interests over its citizens.

  • Ukraine Aid
Since 2022, the U.S. has sent over $40 billion in aid to Ukraine while American military families rely on food banks.
  • Healthcare Neglect
Rural hospitals are shutting down at alarming rates, leaving millions without access to care. Meanwhile, the government funnels billions into international climate accords that barely impact domestic issues.
  • Corporate Land Grabs
In North Carolina, corporations like Albemarle are buying up lithium-rich land under the guise of “development.” A beloved drive-in theater in Kings Mountain was demolished—not for public use, but to access the valuable lithium beneath it.

These priorities reveal a government more invested in global power plays than the well-being of its own people.

A System Built to Exploit

The U.S. government isn’t just inefficient—it’s strategically designed to serve corporate interests and career politicians.

  • Lobbyists Rule the Roost
Corporate lobbyists spend billions influencing legislation. From healthcare to education, laws are crafted to maximize profits, not serve the public.
  • Career Politicians
Many lawmakers have been in office for decades, amassing wealth while the nation declines. They don’t live in the real world—they live in mansions, fly private, and have lifetime benefits.
  • Taxpayers as ATM Machines
Americans are taxed on nearly everything—income, property, food, gas, and even death (via the estate tax). Yet, the returns on these taxes are minimal, with basic public services underfunded or collapsing.

How the System Could Change

It doesn’t have to be this way. Americans deserve better, and here’s how we can fix the system:

  1. Impose Term Limits
No more career politicians. Representatives and senators should serve limited terms to ensure fresh ideas and prevent entrenched corruption.
  2. Ban Lobbying
Legislation should serve the people, not corporate interests. It’s time to end the revolving door between Congress and lobbying firms.
  3. Audit and Accountability
Government agencies should face regular audits, with severe consequences for missing or mismanaged funds. If they can track your $2 debt, they can account for $220 billion.
  4. End Profit-Driven Governance
Essential services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure should not be profit-driven. Public funds should serve public needs.

Americans Are Waking Up

The government’s pattern of wasting taxpayer money while ignoring domestic crises is unsustainable. Americans are increasingly vocal about their frustrations, with social media platforms like TikTok amplifying stories of neglect, corruption, and misplaced priorities.

One user posted, “Why is it easier for them to find $1 billion for the Amazon than $1 billion for Hurricane Helene victims? It’s like they don’t care about us.”

The Bottom Line

The U.S. government has shown time and again that it prioritizes foreign interests and corporate profits over the well-being of its people. It’s time to stop being treated like peasants funding their schemes.

As one citizen aptly put it:

“I didn’t agree to this. Neither did my children or grandchildren. Why should we be forced to pay for foreign projects while our own country is falling apart?”

We must demand accountability, transparency, and a complete restructuring of how our nation operates. Until then, the taxpayers will remain the silent, exploited majority in a system rigged against them.

We Didn’t Agree to This: Why Are Americans Paying for Foreign Projects While Our Nation Crumbles?

“I didn’t agree to this,” one frustrated citizen said. “Neither did my children or grandchildren. Why should we be forced to pay for foreign projects when our own country is falling apart?”

This sentiment echoes across the United States as the Biden administration announces a $1 billion investment in the conservation of the Ecuadorian Amazon. While touted as a climate initiative, the decision leaves many Americans questioning why their tax dollars—and the debt their descendants will inherit—are being used to fund projects abroad when their own communities face unprecedented challenges.

Foreign Conservation vs. Domestic Desperation

The Ecuadorian Amazon conservation plan is presented as a necessary effort to combat climate change. However, its timing and the lack of transparency surrounding its objectives raise red flags. Critics point out that Ecuador’s Amazon is not just a rainforest; it’s a resource-rich region abundant in oil, minerals, and timber. Could this be less about conservation and more about securing economic interests under the guise of environmentalism?

Meanwhile, back home, Americans are suffering from neglect.

  • Hurricane Helene’s Aftermath
In North Carolina, victims of Hurricane Helene are living in tents after their homes were swept away by mudslides and floods. A family of 11 recently froze to death, and a baby succumbed to hypothermia in sub-freezing temperatures. What was the federal response? A paltry $750 per household for disaster relief.
  • Homelessness Epidemic
Over 580,000 Americans are homeless, many of them veterans and families with children. Cities like Los Angeles are grappling with sprawling encampments, yet the government seems more eager to fund foreign conservation than tackle this growing crisis.
  • Infrastructure in Shambles
The nation’s roads, bridges, and water systems are crumbling. The Flint water crisis remains unresolved, and communities across the country face contaminated drinking water. Despite the American Society of Civil Engineers giving U.S. infrastructure a D+ rating, there’s no billion-dollar plan to fix it.
  • Education and Healthcare Underfunding
Underfunded schools in low-income areas are struggling to provide basic education. Rural hospitals are closing at alarming rates, leaving millions without access to healthcare. While American families navigate these challenges, the government prioritizes global initiatives.

Borrowed Billions, Taxpayer Burden

This $1 billion for the Amazon isn’t coming from a budget surplus. It’s borrowed money, adding to the national debt, which has already surpassed $33 trillion. Each borrowed dollar comes with interest—money that American taxpayers will be responsible for repaying.

“When did I give permission for my grandchildren to shoulder this debt?” another citizen asked. “This is theft. They’re borrowing on our backs to fund their agendas.”

Patterns of Misplaced Priorities

The Ecuadorian Amazon conservation pledge is just the latest example of the U.S. government prioritizing foreign projects over domestic needs:

  • $40 Billion to Ukraine
Since 2022, the U.S. has funneled billions into Ukraine for military aid, while American veterans face homelessness and food insecurity.
  • Afghanistan Aid
Even after the chaotic withdrawal, billions continued to flow into Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Afghan war veterans in the U.S. struggle with PTSD and inadequate care.
  • International Climate Pledges
The U.S. has committed billions to assist other nations in reducing emissions, yet it has failed to modernize its own energy grid or address rampant pollution in industrial hubs.

What Is the Real Agenda?

History suggests that U.S. foreign investments often serve hidden agendas. Whether securing natural resources, countering geopolitical rivals like China, or laundering money through global programs, these initiatives rarely prioritize altruism.

Critics argue the Ecuadorian Amazon investment could be a strategic move to control South America’s resource-rich regions. The Amazon is home to vast reserves of oil, gold, and other commodities essential for global markets. By funding conservation efforts, the U.S. may be positioning itself as a gatekeeper of these resources.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina

Hurricane Helene’s victims highlight the stark contrast between what the government promises and what it delivers. The lithium-rich hills of Kings Mountain, NC, are drawing corporate interest, with Albemarle Corporation leading the charge. Landowners are being pressured to sell as corporations eye the state’s abundant lithium and rare quartz—resources critical to the tech and electric vehicle industries.

A local drive-in theater in Kings Mountain was recently purchased and demolished—not for redevelopment, but for the lithium beneath the land. While corporations thrive, displaced residents are told to accept Amish-built homes or give up their land entirely.

“This isn’t aid; it’s a land grab,” one resident said. “They’re using disasters to push us out and take what’s ours.”

The Bigger Picture: Americans as Tax Slaves

Americans pay some of the highest taxes globally, with nearly half of many paychecks going to federal, state, and local governments. Yet, these funds rarely benefit the taxpayers themselves. Instead, they’re used to fund global ambitions that do little to address domestic concerns.

“We’re tax slaves,” a community leader stated. “Our government treats us as assets to be milked for money while ignoring our needs. They care more about foreign power plays than the lives of their own citizens.”

A Call for Accountability

Americans must demand transparency and accountability. What is the real purpose behind the Ecuadorian Amazon investment? Why are our leaders prioritizing global projects while neglecting disasters, homelessness, and crumbling infrastructure at home?

Until the government starts prioritizing its people, the frustration of taxpayers will only grow. As one citizen put it, “We didn’t agree to this, and we won’t stand for it anymore.”

Conservation or Corruption? The $1 Billion Amazon Investment and the Forgotten American Struggle

As the Biden administration proudly announces a $1 billion investment in the conservation of the Ecuadorian Amazon, many Americans are left wondering: why is our government so eager to fund projects abroad while neglecting pressing crises here at home? From crumbling infrastructure and homelessness to underfunded schools and disaster recovery efforts, it seems the priorities of our leaders are misaligned with the needs of their own citizens.

The $1 Billion Question: What’s Really Happening in Ecuador?

The White House describes this billion-dollar pledge as a commitment to environmental conservation and combating climate change. But when has the U.S. government ever spent such vast sums without ulterior motives? Critics are asking pointed questions:

  • Is this about accessing Ecuador’s abundant natural resources, including oil and minerals?
  • Could it be a geopolitical maneuver to outbid China or other nations for influence in South America?
  • Or, as some skeptics suggest, is this a money-laundering scheme under the guise of environmental aid?

The Ecuadorian Amazon is rich in oil, gold, and other valuable commodities. Conservation efforts could mask an agenda of resource control rather than genuine environmental protection.

Ignored at Home: The Real Cost of Misplaced Priorities

While the government writes billion-dollar checks for foreign projects, countless Americans are struggling. Consider these examples:

  1. Hurricane Recovery Neglect
Victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina received a paltry $750 per household to rebuild lives destroyed by mudslides and floods. Entire families are living in tents, with deaths reported due to exposure. Meanwhile, the administration pledges billions to the Amazon without addressing ongoing crises in its own backyard.
  2. Homelessness Epidemic
According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, over half a million Americans are homeless on any given night. Cities like Los Angeles and New York are overwhelmed by growing encampments, yet federal funding for affordable housing remains inadequate.
  3. Infrastructure Collapse
The American Society of Civil Engineers has consistently graded U.S. infrastructure with a D+. From collapsing bridges to undrinkable water in Flint, Michigan, the government fails to invest in critical repairs, even as it borrows heavily to fund international projects.
  4. Healthcare and Education Underfunding
Rural hospitals are closing at alarming rates, leaving millions without access to healthcare. Public schools in low-income areas are chronically underfunded, with outdated materials and unsafe facilities. Yet, the administration has no issue financing conservation abroad.
  5. Veterans Abandoned
Homeless veterans make up a significant portion of the unhoused population, yet programs to support them are woefully underfunded. Why is it easier to find money for Ecuador’s rainforest than for the men and women who served this country?

The True Cost of Borrowed Billions

This $1 billion isn’t coming from a surplus. It’s borrowed money with high interest rates—debt that you, your children, and your grandchildren will be responsible for repaying. The federal government continues to accumulate debt at a staggering pace, with the national debt surpassing $33 trillion in 2024. Every borrowed dollar adds to the financial strain on future generations.

“I didn’t agree to this,” one frustrated citizen said. “Neither did my children or grandchildren. Why should we be forced to pay for foreign projects when our own country is falling apart?”

Patterns of Neglect: When Americans Are Left Behind

The $1 billion for the Ecuadorian Amazon isn’t an isolated case. The U.S. government has a long history of prioritizing international initiatives over domestic needs:

  • $100 Billion to Ukraine
Since 2022, tens of billions have been sent to Ukraine for military aid, while American military families face food insecurity.
  • Billions in Aid to Afghanistan
Despite the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, the U.S. continued sending financial aid, even as Afghan veterans here struggle with PTSD and inadequate support.
  • Climate Agreements
Under international climate accords, the U.S. pledged billions to assist other countries in reducing emissions, despite failing to address its own outdated energy grid.

What Is the Real Agenda?

It’s no secret that the U.S. government often uses foreign aid as a tool for power and control. Whether it’s securing access to natural resources, countering rival nations like China, or pushing corporate interests, these investments are rarely altruistic.

As one political analyst put it, “The government doesn’t invest in anything without expecting a return. Whether it’s oil, minerals, or influence, there’s always a hidden agenda.”

The American Tax Farm

Americans are burdened by one of the highest tax rates in the world, with nearly half of many paychecks going to federal, state, and local taxes. Yet, the returns on this investment are increasingly hard to see. Citizens are left to wonder: where is their money going, and why are they footing the bill for international ventures that don’t benefit them?

“This administration treats us like tax slaves,” said one concerned taxpayer. “They’re borrowing billions in our name, but none of it comes back to us. We’re funding a global empire, not a country that cares about its people.”

Demand Accountability

The American people deserve transparency. Where exactly is this $1 billion going, and what assurances do we have that it’s being used responsibly? Why isn’t this money being used to address pressing domestic issues, from disaster recovery to homelessness?

As citizens, we must demand answers and hold our leaders accountable. The Ecuadorian Amazon may be important, but so are the lives of Americans struggling every day in their own country. Until the government prioritizes its people over international interests, the question remains: who is really benefiting from these investments?

  5. Infrastructure Grades: American Society of Civil Engineers.
  6. Aid to Ukraine: Congressional Research Service.

By exposing these issues, we can push for a government that prioritizes its citizens over political and corporate agendas.

The Hidden Costs of Hurricane Helene: A Land Grab Masquerading as Aid?

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, North Carolina faces a humanitarian crisis overshadowed by governmental neglect, corporate greed, and questions about the priorities of the Biden administration. Despite promises of relief, thousands remain displaced, living in unsafe conditions, while land acquisitions hint at a deeper agenda.

Life in Tents: A Humanitarian Crisis

Months after the hurricane, the reality is grim. TikTok users have brought global attention to harrowing accounts of families enduring sub-freezing temperatures in tents. A family of 11 tragically lost their lives to the cold, and a baby recently died from hypothermia.

“I’ve seen countless families suffering,” one TikTok user posted. “This isn’t about recovery; it feels like abandonment.” Videos show people lining up for dwindling supplies, their voices filled with despair. Despite the devastation, state aid has been insufficient. Families received a meager $750 per household—hardly enough to rebuild lives lost to floods and mudslides.

“Give Up Your Land”: The Governor’s Call

Governor Roy Cooper faced backlash for suggesting that displaced residents give up their land. Local officials have echoed these sentiments, offering Amish-built homes as an alternative. Yet, these homes are a far cry from the security people need, and the push to relinquish land raises serious questions about intent.

One resident shared, “I’ve lived here my whole life, and now they want to take it away under the guise of helping us. It’s not help; it’s a land grab.”

Corporate Interests: Lithium, Quartz, and the Drive-In Theater

North Carolina is sitting on a geological goldmine, particularly in the Kings Mountain area, known for its rare quartz and lithium reserves. Albemarle Corporation, based in Charlotte, is aggressively acquiring land rich in these minerals. Recently, a beloved local drive-in theater was purchased and demolished—not for development, but for the lithium beneath it.

North Carolina holds some of the rarest quartz in the world and the largest lithium reserves globally, making it a prime target for exploitation. Lithium, a key component in electric vehicle batteries, has sparked a modern-day gold rush, with corporations prioritizing profits over the well-being of displaced communities.

Aid Abroad, Apathy at Home

Adding insult to injury, the Biden administration recently announced a $1 billion investment in the “conservation of the Ecuadorian Amazon.” This comes as American citizens, victims of Hurricane Helene, struggle for survival. Critics question the motives behind this investment.

“When has our government ever invested billions without an ulterior motive?” asked one analyst. “It’s either about money laundering, power grabs, or exploiting resources. Meanwhile, Americans are left to fend for themselves.”

This announcement coincided with President Biden’s recent visit to the Amazon, a rare international trip for a leader whose public appearances often raise questions about his health and coherence. “We’re watching a puppet show,” one political commentator said. “The real power lies with the people behind the curtain.”

HAARP, DARPA, and Climate Engineering

Speculation about the role of HAARP (High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) in Hurricane Helene’s catastrophic weather has circulated widely. Many believe the disaster was engineered as part of a coordinated effort to displace residents and seize valuable land.

Videos circulating online document the strange weather patterns preceding the hurricane, with locals pointing to unexplained atmospheric anomalies. “It felt like the storm was targeted,” one eyewitness stated. “This wasn’t natural.”

The True Toll

While official reports downplay the loss of life, eyewitness accounts and local media paint a darker picture. Over 400 individuals remain missing, and the death toll is climbing as freezing temperatures claim more lives.

“We are tax slaves on a tax farm,” a community leader remarked. “The government takes 48% of our income and does nothing to help. They hate the American people and prioritize profits over lives.”

Conclusion: Who Will Stand for the Forgotten?

The aftermath of Hurricane Helene exposes a disturbing trend: a government quick to fund foreign ventures while ignoring crises at home. The ongoing displacement and suffering in North Carolina highlight a systemic failure to prioritize American citizens. As corporate interests vie for control of the state’s natural resources, the people left in the cold are left asking: Who will stand for us?

To My Readers: A Warm Message from the Heart

To My Readers: A Warm Message from the Heart

By A.L. Childers

As a writer, researcher, and fellow human navigating this complex world, I want to take a moment to speak directly to you—my readers. Writing is a deeply personal journey, but it’s also one of the most vulnerable acts. When I release a book, I’m sharing a piece of myself, my experiences, my research, and the truths I’ve uncovered so far. But let me be clear: I don’t claim to know it all.

This journey of discovery is just that—a journey. Each of us is on a unique path, finding meaning in our own time and way. If you’ve picked up my book and feel it doesn’t answer all your questions or align with your expectations, I ask for your understanding and encourage you to keep searching. No single book can encapsulate the vast mysteries of life or hold all the answers we seek.

Why I Write

I write to share my perspective, to spark curiosity, and to open doors to new ways of thinking. My words are not the final destination but a stepping stone—an invitation for you to explore further, question deeper, and find what resonates with your own truth.

These books will reflect where I am on my path right now. It’s a snapshot of my growth, my understanding, and my reflections at this point in time. And while it may not speak to everyone in the same way, I hope it plants a seed of thought, a question, or even a challenge that inspires you to dig deeper.

To My Critics

I’ve learned that not everyone will agree with what I write, and that’s okay. We live in a world of diverse perspectives, and healthy debate is a cornerstone of growth. But sometimes, criticism can feel harsh, even cruel. It’s one thing to disagree—it’s another to approach that disagreement with negativity and hostility.

I kindly ask that you approach my work with the same curiosity and open-mindedness that I bring to writing it. If you don’t agree, let that disagreement inspire you to find new information, challenge your assumptions, or even write your own book. Growth comes from exploration, not condemnation.

Let’s Keep Seeking Together

We’re all in this together, navigating the chaos, beauty, and complexity of life. My hope is that this book, and my writing in general, serves as a light along the way—a reminder that we’re all searching, all learning, and all evolving.

If you feel something is missing in my book, let that absence be a spark. Seek out new voices, dive into the unknown, and keep asking the tough questions. Growth is not about finding all the answers; it’s about having the courage to keep searching.

Gratitude for the Journey

To those who have supported my work, thank you. Every book you purchase, every kind of review, and every encouraging word fuels my passion and allows me to continue writing. You are the reason I can keep pursuing this dream, and I am endlessly grateful.

To those who feel compelled to criticize, I appreciate your honesty. But I ask for grace as we all walk this path together. Writing is my way of contributing to the greater conversation, and I hope you’ll engage with it constructively, with curiosity and respect.

Let’s remember: we’re all human, all searching for meaning, and all on different timelines. My book may not provide everything you’re looking for, but it’s my sincere hope that it offers something—a question, a spark, a moment of clarity.

With love, encouragement, and gratitude,
A.L. Childers

Breaking Out of the Matrix: Reclaiming Humanity’s True Potential

Breaking Out of the Matrix: Reclaiming Humanity’s True Potential

By A.L. Childers

The Invisible Cage: Understanding the Matrix

Imagine living in a house where every window shows a false landscape, every door leads back inside, and the rules of the house are dictated by invisible hands. This is the metaphorical “Matrix” in which humanity resides. But unlike the digital illusion popularized by Hollywood, our Matrix is composed of narratives — stories woven into our education systems, healthcare, media, government, and corporations to control and confine us.

For centuries, humanity has been conditioned to believe in these narratives. These stories are often disguised as “truths,” but who wrote them? And why? Breaking out of this Matrix begins with one vital step: questioning everything.

The Narratives that Bind Us

  1. Religion and Control: From Rome to the Vatican, religious institutions have long shaped our understanding of morality, salvation, and even our purpose in life. But how much of this was created to inspire spiritual growth, and how much was designed to control masses under fear-based obedience?
  2. Education as Indoctrination: The modern education system, funded and standardized by industrialists, doesn’t teach free thought or creativity. Instead, it trains obedient workers to sustain a system that profits the elite.
  3. Healthcare or Wealthcare? Healthcare systems across the world prioritize profit over genuine healing. How much of our “healthcare” narrative was influenced by corporations and lobbyists who benefit from our chronic illnesses?
  4. Governments as Shepherds of Fear: Governments thrive on control. Fear-based policies—from wars to pandemics—ensure compliance. We are fed narratives about security, but at what cost to our freedom?
  5. Media as the Gatekeeper of Truth: Mainstream media shapes public opinion through selective storytelling. Who decides what’s “news” and what remains hidden? Who profits from our ignorance?
  6. The Corporate Consumer Trap: Big corporations tell us what to buy, eat, and wear. This consumerist cycle keeps us enslaved to financial burdens while depleting the Earth’s resources.

Reconnecting with What Matters

Breaking out of the Matrix requires dismantling these narratives, one by one. Here’s how we begin:

  1. Question Everything: Start by challenging every system you interact with daily. Why does it exist? Who benefits from it? Seek alternative perspectives from suppressed sources.
  2. Reclaim Holistic Health: Move beyond pharmaceuticals and explore natural remedies, ancient practices, and self-care techniques that elevate both mental and physical well-being.
  3. Reconnect with Nature: Grow your own food, learn permaculture, and embrace a self-sufficient lifestyle. Nature is the ultimate antidote to the artificial constraints of the Matrix.
  4. Build Communities: Form deep, meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals who value truth, freedom, and love.
  5. Reject Fear: Fear is the strongest weapon of control. Instead, embrace consciousness, love, and freedom as the ultimate keys to liberation.

A History of Programming

Throughout history, we’ve seen glimpses of liberation only to be re-entangled in new forms of control:

  • Rome’s Expansion: The Roman Empire spread its influence through conquest and religious integration, turning spirituality into a tool of compliance.
  • Industrial Revolution: The birth of mass production also birthed mass dependence, making individuals reliant on centralized systems for survival.
  • The Rise of Big Pharma: The Flexner Report of 1910, funded by industrialists like Rockefeller, redefined medicine, sidelining holistic approaches in favor of pharmaceutical dominance.
  • Modern Media: From newspapers to social media, control of the narrative ensures that dissenting voices remain silenced.

The Path to Liberation

True freedom lies in dismantling the illusions:

  1. Educate Yourself: Read books, watch documentaries, and engage in discussions that challenge mainstream narratives. Explore history, metaphysics, and alternative sciences.
  2. Seek Truth in Nature: The Earth provides everything we need. From herbs to clean energy, the answers lie in reconnecting with our natural world.
  3. Foster Consciousness: Meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual practices help break the chains of mental programming and awaken a higher understanding of existence.
  4. Act Locally: Start small by making changes in your immediate environment. Build gardens, support local farmers, and reduce dependence on corporations.

Conclusion: Embrace the Revolution

Breaking out of the Matrix isn’t easy. It requires courage, curiosity, and an unyielding commitment to truth. But by questioning narratives, reconnecting with nature, and embracing consciousness, humanity can reclaim its true potential and chart a course toward liberation. Let love and freedom be your compass.

From AOL Days to Modern Connections: Finding My Gen X Crew

There’s a sound only true Gen Xers will ever truly understand: the screeching symphony of a dial-up modem connecting to the internet. It was 1993 when I first heard that magical noise, signaling a world of possibilities. Back then, I was known as Izzystillalive on AOL, exploring a new digital frontier through AOL chat rooms, message boards, and email chains. If you remember those days, maybe you were one of my buddies — and if so, I’d love to find you again.

AOL wasn’t just a tool; it was a lifestyle. Who can forget those free CDs we all collected like trophies, promising unlimited hours online? Signing in wasn’t just a click; it was an event. The words “You’ve Got Mail!” sparked joy like few things could. This was the golden age of early internet experiences, where the concept of America Online history was being written in real-time, and we were part of it.

For me, AOL became more than a pastime; it was a lifeline. Those late-night chats and digital connections sparked my passion for storytelling and eventually led to my career as a writer and blogger.

My Life, Then and Now

Fast forward to today: I’ve been married for 30 years and am a proud mother of three. The seeds planted during my AOL days grew into a flourishing writing career. I’ve authored numerous books and blogs, channeling the inspiration and connections I found in those early days of 90s internet culture.

Some of my fondest memories are of my “Married with Children” group in Climax, NC. We were 20 strong, sharing laughter, advice, and a sense of community that only AOL chat rooms could create. Some of those friends are still in my life, but others are lost to time — and this is my call to reconnect. If you’re reading this and remember those days, let’s find our way back to each other.

Nostalgia and Connection

AOL (America Online) was so much more than a platform; it was where we learned to “surf the web,” bonded over shared interests, and heard the iconic “You’ve Got Mail!” that became a cultural touchstone. It was a time when the internet felt like a vast, uncharted territory, and AOL was our compass.

The internet of the ‘90s wasn’t sleek or instant, but it was magical. It was a place where usernames became identities, and slow-loading pages gave us time to savor the connections we were building. AOL chat rooms weren’t just spaces; they were lifelines to people who understood us in ways the offline world sometimes didn’t.

Let’s Rebuild the Bridges

If you were part of my AOL journey, I’d love to reconnect. Whether you were in the “Married with Children” group or another corner of the AOL universe, reach out! I’m now on TikTok as @audreysnewaccount1 and share my journey at writewithAudrey. You’ll also find me writing under the name A.L. Childers. Let’s rediscover those bonds and bring back the magic of our dial-up days.

For my fellow Gen Xers and anyone who remembers the dawn of the internet, share your memories. What were your AOL screen names? What friendships did you make? Let’s celebrate the quirks and connections of our 90s internet culture.

AOL wasn’t just a phase. It was the start of something transformative. It shaped my path and taught me that connection, even through a screen, can be profoundly real. So, to my old buddies and anyone nostalgic for those days: let’s find each other again. The modem may be silent, but the memories live on. You know where to find me — @audreysnewaccount1, writewithAudrey, or as always, A.L. Childers.
