The Magic of My Childhood: Gen X’s Love Affair with the 80’s

The Magic of My Childhood: Gen X’s Love Affair with the 80’s

As Gen Xers, we were blessed to grow up during one of the most iconic decades in history – the 80’s. It was a time of radical changes, vibrant colors, and a cultural revolution that shaped our lives in ways we couldn’t have imagined. The impact of the 80’s on our lives today is undeniable, and it continues to influence us in countless ways.

Growing up in the 80’s as a Gen X kid taught us to appreciate the simple things in life. We learned to value genuine connections, the power of imagination, Saturday morning cartoons, and the joy of music. This unique perspective has shaped our outlook on life, allowing us to find happiness in the little moments and appreciate the beauty of simplicity in an increasingly complex world.

The nostalgia of the 80’s is a testament to the love affair that Gen X has with this decade. The music, technology, movies, and carefree spirit of the 80’s shaped us into the individuals we are today. As we look back on our childhood, we can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for growing up in such a unique and remarkable time. The 80’s will forever hold a special place in our hearts, as it was a decade that allowed us to be ourselves and create memories that will stay with us forever.

Unveiling the Veil: How Religion Shaped Humanity’s Spiritual Journey

Unveiling the Veil: How Religion Shaped Humanity’s Spiritual Journey

Humanity has been driven by a deep-seated desire to understand the world around us and our place within it. This primal urge for meaning and connection has shaped our spiritual journey, guiding us toward religions attempting to answer life’s most profound questions. However, it is crucial to recognize that the colonizers brought religion, which is spirituality packaged into a man-made form.

From the earliest civilizations, humans have sought to make sense of the cosmos, the nature of existence, and our relationship with the divine. We have looked to the skies, the earth, and the depths of our souls, seeking a connection that transcends the limits of our mortal existence. This quest for understanding has given birth to countless religious traditions, each offering unique insights into the mysteries of life.

Throughout the course of human history, religion has played a pivotal role in shaping our spiritual journey. It has provided solace, guidance, and a sense of purpose to individuals and communities across the globe. However, it is essential to recognize the intricate relationship between religion and the institutions that have institutionalized it, for this dynamic has had profound consequences on humanity’s spiritual evolution.

In many instances, religion has been packaged into a man-made form, and the process of institutionalization has played a significant role in this transformation. Particularly, the colonization era witnessed the arrival of colonizers who brought with them their own religious beliefs, imposing them upon indigenous populations. In this context, spirituality became entangled with power dynamics, resulting in the institutionalization of religion.

The colonizers, driven by a desire to assert their dominance and control, sought to reshape the spirituality of the colonized individuals. They imposed their own religious practices, rituals, and dogmas, often disregarding the rich spiritual traditions that had already existed within these communities. As a consequence, religion became a tool for colonization, suppressing indigenous beliefs and customs and replacing them with a foreign spiritual framework.

Unveiling the Veil invites humanity to explore the depths of its spiritual journey, free from the constraints of religious dogma. By reclaiming spirituality from the clutches of colonization and institutionalization, we can rediscover the true essence of our interconnectedness and embrace a more inclusive and authentic understanding of our place in the universe. Let us embark on this transformative journey together, guided by the primordial urge for meaning and connection that resides within each and every one of us.

Reclaiming my POWER from Hell on Earth

Reclaiming My Power: How I Transformed Illness into Empowerment as a Woman with Hashimoto’s, Hypothyroidism, and OCD

  From the Author

I am writing to you in hopes that I can help someone else who has experienced this sort of hell on earth. That’s the best way I can describe it. No one understands unless they have experienced it 1st hand. I’ve done an excellent job hiding my problem. Only my closest friends know, and I keep it hidden well. If people knew, they would certainly suggest that I am crazy and possibly turn me into an outcast, stone me with rocks, burn me at the stake like they did during the Salem Witch trials, or people might show up at my door and throw a white straight jacket to toss me in a padded room.

I have dreams, hopes, and desires like everyone else. I planned on having a career, raising kids, and living happily ever after, but after my twins’ birth, my life turned into a mind-blowing downward spiral. Was I crazy? I certainly felt crazy and like I couldn’t control my thoughts. Why couldn’t I control these thoughts? The what ifs? The “What if I die, who will raise my girls”? Then “Did they touch something poisonous?” Did I touch something poisonous? Are they going to die? Am I going to die?

I had ‘caught” a devastating fear of chemicals.

This has drastically changed how I went about my everyday life.

I was overwhelmed as a new mother of twins and a toddler. I had no family to help me. My husband worked a lot of hours. He did help me some with sleep when he came in from his Twelve-hour shifts. He was a hardworking, good man, but he was tired too. My break was going to the grocery store. Although exhausted, the hour break was nice while my husband watched the girls. I also ran a small cleaning business, which I enjoyed. I loved visiting people’s homes, seeing how their houses were decorated, and cleaning them. One day, my cleaning business will take off, and I, too, will have my own cleaning person. I took pride in my work and was proud to say I was a business owner.

So, the big question is, what happened to me? I can’t go into a grocery store without a panic attack unless I am with someone. I can’t go down the chemical aisle without holding someone’s arm. Even driving my car as I pass a store that I know has chemicals in it sends me into a panic attack, and my OCD starts the “what ifs.”

Why?

These are crazy, abnormal, irrational, and unnecessary thoughts of the fear of being poisoned.

I’ve had other good jobs over the years only to quit because they had any kind of chemicals that weren’t locked up. I would develop severe anxiety, and my OCD would leave me paralyzed, fearful, and wanting to flee – almost all day, every day. Fight or flight, isn’t that what they called it?

My stress tolerance was non-existent.

I lived in a constant state of panic.

I didn’t want to leave my house, but I had to. I had to go to work. I had to fight this irrational fear and not let it win over me. I am a rational person. I would never harm myself. I want to live. I love life. So why was this happening to me? My only relief would be drinking a few beers or popping Xanax. Neither both, obviously. If I could get a doctor to prescribe me Xanax. Most of the time, they wanted to push some anti-depressant down my throat. I kept telling the doctors I was not depressed, but they insisted and pushed, and I resisted. Every fiber of my being fought to NOT take any anti-depressants. I allowed a few weeks in a moment of desperation to try a few different anti-depressants, but it made me manic and have suicidal thoughts. I look back on all the moments spent seeing behavioral specialists and several psychiatrists, hoping to find an answer. I’ve read that there is scientific evidence that, ALONG WITH MEDICATION AND COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR THERAPY, can change the chemicals in the brain and help it balance the chemicals. Still, I know that a pill isn’t a cure. It’s a band-aid to the real issue, and I want to get to the root cause. I also believe that big pharma isn’t in the business of curing us; they are in the business of making customers.

I am a famous blogger (thehypothyroidismchick.com) and published author who has sold books across the vast globe. I love to write books, research, and blog about things. I found an article titled Streptococcus Bacteria: The Hidden Cause of Psychiatric Disorders Almost No One Considers by Dr. Mercola. He goes on to say that there is a brain-gut connection to many mental disorders, one being OCD! Psychiatric conditions such as OCD are primarily believed to result from chemical dysfunction in your brain, or in some cases, hereditary and therefore out of your control. Many fail to realize that A) your lifestyle can override genetic predispositions and B) your lifestyle can be a significant underlying cause of that chemical imbalance or dysfunction. Was I just having an abnormal immune response that triggered the start of my OCD, and did I entertain it to help develop the beast it has become? So, in layman’s terms, I have come to understand that my OCD is a psychological condition that, in some sort of way, always involves a domino effect reaction to the environment that I am in and the environment that I have created.

Is there hope for me? Did I, by chance, find the answer to my years of senseless suffering? I never had this problem before the birth of my twins. Shortly after my twins were born, I still ran my cleaning service with no issues. So, why am I plagued with it now? Why am I being tortured? Could the answer to my problem be this simple!?

Dr. Mercola goes on to say that, in an authentic sense, you have two brains: one inside your skull and one in your gut. While they may seem very different, these two organs are created out of the same type of tissue. During fetal development, one part turns into your central nervous system while the other develops into your enteric nervous system. The tenth cranial nerve that runs from your brain to your abdomen—connects these two organs. Your gut produces more of the neurotransmitter serotonin—thought to play an essential role in OCD, in addition to having a beneficial influence on your mood in general—than your brain does, so optimizing your gut flora may have tremendous benefits for your psychological health. And plenty of evidence suggests that this needs to begin from birth or even, ideally, before delivery.

Could I turn the tables back and fix my OCD by getting good gut flora? I mean, really? Could it be that simple? Like I said, I never had this problem before the birth of my twins. I had no problem being around any kind of chemicals. I never thought anything crazy. Oh, let me not fail to mention that I was also newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism.

In my research, I’ve also found that Choline is anti-dopaminergic and often makes OCD patients worse. Most OCD patients get worse if given DMAE, Choline, copper, or folic acid supplements. Choline is in Eggs, liver, and peanuts. Other significant contributors to Choline in the American diet are meat, poultry, fish, dairy foods, pasta, rice, egg-based dishes, spinach, beets, wheat, and shellfish. I’ve also learned that I have a lack of serotonin. Serotonin-boosting foods are eggs, turkey (which I can’t have, I just knew), walnuts, hickory nuts, pineapple, bananas, kiwis, plums, tomatoes, and exercise.

“Historically, mental illness has been linked with infection. When Georges Gilles de la Tourette first identified his syndrome in the 1800s, it was closely linked to rheumatic fever, caused by strep antibodies attacking the heart. Yet, as mental illness moved under the dark cloak of psychoanalysis. Let me go on to add that Psychoanalysis is Sigmund Freud’s creation. Freud was a Jewish neuropathologist who tried to set up a psychoanalytical movement with the help of non-Jewish specialists to make his orientation more reliable. Please don’t misinterpret what I am trying to say. I am not knocking Freud’s research. We all know he is The Father of Modern Psychology.

Dr. Campbell-McBride has written a book called The Gut and Psychology Syndrome. It’s an in-depth book where the author specifically focuses on people struggling with gut/brain issues like Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Depression/anxiety, Schizophrenia, OCD, and even allergies. She suggests that you must heal the gut lining to start to heal the brain. In her research, she has focused on soothing and healing the gut lining with foods like bone broth and beneficial fats while boosting beneficial gut bacteria with probiotics and fermented foods. Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride created the GAPS diet. She is a neurologist and nutritional consultant from the UK. She discovered the GAPS diet while trying to treat her son’s autism. She also claims this nutritional protocol helped get him off the autism spectrum.

In 1998, a team of researchers led by Dr. Andrew Wakefield took several children with autism, did small intestine biopsies on them, and discovered abnormally wide holes in their small intestinal lining–just like the holes found in patients with celiac, ulcerative colitis, etc. Wakefield postulated that the holes in these autistic kids’ intestines allowed proteins to leak from the inside of the bowel into the bloodstream and that these foreign proteins acted like neurotoxins and interfered with neurological functioning.

What does this have to do with me and my OCD, you may ask? I believe it has everything to do with it. There is a strong correlation between them all. Based on current clinical research and studies that I’ve come across; I am convinced that considering the role of gut flora is more essential than anything else in treating the root cause of my OCD. I know that since I’ve entertained my OCD, it’s developed into a pattern and a habit. I understand that, on some level, we all exist on a broad-spectrum scale where no one is considered wholly and entirely sane. Yes, we have differences, and our personality is not wholly due to our intestinal gut flora. Some people’s personalities suck, and that’s all there is to it. No matter how much fantastic “gut flora” they may have. I also don’t believe in labels or what people may consider to be “normal,” we all walk to the beat of our own drum. I know that healing my body with food is much more appealing than allowing me to be a guinea pig to Big Pharma. I don’t care to waste any more of my time sitting in a room, on a couch, explaining random bouts of craziness to a psychiatrist or behavioral specialist, and seeing their approach to magically change my brain chemistry by talking through my feelings. I am not “knocking” their services by any means. This field is needed, and they do help people. Please don’t misconstrue what I am saying.

So, I am putting myself out here. I am not hiding my issue anymore in hopes that my journey can help someone else. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but I know it won’t be boring, and I won’t stop researching until I find my answers. I already eat based on my hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s Autoimmune disorder. I have my hypothyroid disorder and Hashimoto’s in complete control with the correct foods to eat and other hidden things in this world that affect our everyday lives.

May you go in peace,

A.L. Childers

Hey you, Beautiful:

Let’s not forget that we are all different. Each one of us is unique and biochemically individually wired, and what works for one person may not work for another. We are incredibly complex beings, and each person should be valued independently. My reason for having a leaky gut, inflammation, and an autoimmune disorder might not be the same as yours. Each day, we encounter different things in our homes and travels. Every Cell in your body responds to the nutrients you consume, the products you put in your body, the household chemicals in the environment, and what you may purchase to clean your home. All these things have a direct impact on your hormones, and in return, your hormones have a direct impact on every major system in your body. Life isn’t a 1 size fits all solution. This book should be just one of your resources that is empowering you to try to help make sense of it all.

Xoxoxo,

Unlocking Carolina’s New Year’s Day: Superstitions, Traditions, and Delicious Recipes

Introduction:

The Southern New Year Celebration is a worldwide celebration for the beginning of the New Year. These festivals are among the oldest and the most universally observed.  This book takes you on a journey of the Southeastern part of America, honoring two southern states called North and South Carolina and sharing its rich history of southern superstition, tradition, culture, and lore.

Many believe, including myself, that what you do on New Year’s Day, you will do all year. While most of these superstitions and traditions are meant to usher in good luck and keep bad luck at bay, what you do can reflect how you’ll live in the coming year.

My 6th generation great-great-great grandfather James Dawkins emigrated to the U.S. 10 years before the Irish Potato Famine, also known as the Great Hunger, which began in 1845.

There is a story that has been passed down through the generations that James Dawkins was in The Battle of Churubusco.

During the U.S. invasion of Mexico in 1846, 200 plus Irish immigrants from the U.S. formed the Saint Patrick’s battalion and joined the Mexican side. From mistreatments, the catholic Irish saw parallels between the mistreatment of catholic Mexicans and their own mistreatment by the British.  Although it consisted primarily of Irish immigrants, it also included black Americans who escaped slavery. Their flag read “Erin go Bragh,” which means Ireland Forever.”  Many were eventually captured in the battle of Churubusco.

In their final act of defiance, 30 men cheered The Mexican flag before they were hung. This isn’t typically taught in a U.S. history book lesson.

However, Irish descendants still sing songs to uphold the legacy. Mexico holds joint commemorations with Ireland every year to celebrate this history, and there are statues of John Riley around Mexico.

My great-great-great grandfather James Dawkins survived that battle and escaped to North Carolina, where he was already the father of George W. Dawkins of Robeson, NC, born in 1840, who later married Martha Dawkins (Butler) of Laurel Hill, NC, born 1860. They were the grandparents of my grandmother Martha Eva Shoemake of Gibson, NC, born in Scotland County in 1921.

I am the living link to my family history. I will tell my children the stories of all the struggles waged at home and in foreign parts from generations past. Of the sacrifices made for our freedoms, the struggles, the lessons learned, and I will tell them my own story as well because everybody has a story to tell.

I was born and raised in the southern eastern part of South Carolina, in a county called Marlboro.

When I eat the food that my grandma used to make, I instantly feel transported back to a simpler time when families meant something to each other.

The memories and sweet smells from my childhood are the ultimate reason why I keep my Southern traditions. I remember visiting my grandmother on many humid and hot Sunday afternoons after church; all the windows were open. There was no sneaking up on my grandmother, no matter how fast or slow I entered; the rusty hinges from that old wooden screen door squealed like fingernails scraping across a dusty old school chalkboard. As the old wooden door would snap shut.

My grandmother would be in the kitchen, humming an old gospel song, rolling out piecrust with a wooden rolling pin, and crimping the edges of the pastry with the tips of her arthritic fingers.

The cooking style and ingredients can vary depending on which part of the south you are from.

There is a rich history of Southern superstition, tradition, and culture. Southerners have a strong sense of regional heritage, so I believe southern food belongs to a region, not a race or ethnicity. Never forgetting our ancestry, we started creating new methods with minimal equipment and scarce resources, using every portion of edible scraps in the home—nothing ever went to waste. Southern-style food is not only about how we nurture people with every mouthful, but it tells a story of survival from each ingredient.

I love trying out new recipes and experimenting with different flavors. Cooking is not just about nourishment for me but also a fun and creative outlet. There’s something so satisfying about seeing a dish come together and enjoying the result. Whether it’s trying out a new fusion cuisine or simply recreating a childhood favorite, food always makes for a fun activity.

I hope you all enjoy this book, cooking a few recipes and sharing them generously with friends and family while keeping the Southern News Year’s Day superstition, tradition, culture, and lore to be never forgotten.

A.L. Childers explores the rich history of southern superstition, tradition, and culture. Southerners have a strong sense of regional heritage, so she believes southern food belongs to a region, not a race or ethnicity. They have not forgotten their ancestry but started creating new methods with minimal equipment and scarce resources; nothing ever went to waste using every portion of edible scraps in the home. Southern-style food is not only about how they nurture people with every mouthful, but it tells a story of survival from each ingredient. Often passed down through the generations, the dishes detailed in this book are cherished and shared at family gatherings, holiday feasts, and community suppers throughout the seasons. My folks didn’t cook out of cookbooks, much less write them- we just cooked.  Southern cooking is from our soul.

Soul food is more than just a cooking style; it tells a story of survival from each ingredient. The records of history mostly overlook the contributions made by these folks. Without property rights, the cooks lost ownership of the hybridized cuisine they created.

A.L. Childers sees herself as a “cultural anthropologist” who digs beyond the recipe to tell the good cultural and often historical story that embraces the traditions across Southern cultures, including the contributions of every ethnicity through cultural expression throughout various regions that are South of the Mason-Dixon line.

Chapter 1: The Illusion of Existence: A Deceptive Reality

The Veil of Deception: Unveiling the Illusion

Humanity has been entangled within a web of deception since birth in the grand tapestry of existence. From the moment we take our first breath, we are burdened with a false identity, an illusion that masks the truth of our existence. This subchapter aims to unravel the intricacies of this veil of deception and shed light on its profound implications on our lives.

From the earliest stages of our development, society molds us into predefined roles, indoctrinating us with beliefs, values, and expectations. We are assigned labels based on our gender, race, and social status, creating a false sense of identity that limits our potential and inhibits our true essence from shining through.

But why were humans given this false identity? What purpose does it serve? The answers lie within the mechanisms of control and power. By confining us within these constructed boundaries, those in positions of authority maintain a grip over the masses, manipulating our thoughts, actions, and desires. We become mere pawns on a chessboard, unwittingly perpetuating a system that benefits only a select few.

Unveiling this illusion is not a task for the faint-hearted. It requires courage, introspection, and a willingness to question the very fabric of our reality. We must embark on a journey of self-discovery, peeling back the layers of conditioning that have kept us bound for so long. It is only by unraveling the truth of our false identity that we can begin to reclaim our innate power and reclaim our agency.

As we look into the various aspects of this deception, exploring the realms of societal expectations, cultural conditioning, and the manipulation of information. It exposes the subtle ways in which our true nature has been suppressed, as well as the detrimental effects this has on our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

By embracing this knowledge, we can break free from the shackles of deception and forge a path toward liberation. We can rediscover our authentic selves, embracing our unique gifts, passions, and purpose. Through self-awareness and conscious action, we can dismantle the illusion and create a society that celebrates diversity, empowers individuals, and fosters genuine connections.

The Secret Chronicles of Spell Casters:

Ancient Magic and the Fight for Freedom

Chapter 1: Introduction to Ancient Magic

The Origins of Ancient Magic

In the enchanting realm of spellcasters, where mysticism and wonder intertwine, the origins of ancient magic hold the key to understanding our formidable powers. Welcome to “The Secret Chronicles of Spell Casters: Ancient Magic and the Fight for Freedom.” In this subchapter, we embark on a captivating journey through time to uncover the very foundation of our craft.

Ancient magic, with its unparalleled strength and limitless possibilities, has been woven into the tapestry of human history since time immemorial. To comprehend its origins, we must delve into the annals of time and explore the myths, legends, and ancient civilizations that birthed the art we practice today.

Our voyage commences in the cradle of civilization, Mesopotamia, where the earliest written records of incantations and magical rituals were discovered. Within the clay tablets of the Sumerians lies a treasure trove of ancient spells, charms, and invocations, providing a glimpse into the profound connection between humanity and the ethereal realms.

As we traverse through the sands of Egypt, we unravel the enigmatic practices of the pharaohs, where magic was deeply embedded in their religious beliefs. The Book of the Dead, a sacred text brimming with incantations and spells, illuminates the intricate rituals performed to ensure a prosperous afterlife.

Venturing further, we encounter the mystical land of India, where the Vedas and Upanishads reveal the profound wisdom of ancient sages. Here, the concept of “prana” and the manipulation of life force energy paved the way for the mystic arts, shaping the foundations of yoga, meditation, and spell casting.

Our odyssey continues across the Mediterranean, where the Greeks and Romans bestowed their own magical legacies upon the world. From the mythological tales of Medea and Circe to the grimoires of renowned sorcerers, such as Apollonius of Tyana, the ancient Hellenistic world brimmed with arcane knowledge.

We conclude our expedition in the realm of Celtic and Norse mythology, where the druids and shamans communed with nature and tapped into the elemental forces. Their rituals, infused with the power of the earth, sky, and sea, gifted us with spells that harness the very essence of existence.

“The Origins of Ancient Magic” illuminates the path we walk as spell casters, connecting us to the roots of our craft and empowering us with a profound understanding of our heritage. By embracing the ancient wisdom passed down through generations, we reclaim our freedom and stand against the oppressive forces of anti-magic legislation.

Join us in “The Secret Chronicles of Spell Casters: Ancient Magic and the Fight for Freedom” as we delve deeper into the secrets of our craft, unravel the mysteries of ancient spells, and unite in our shared mission to protect and preserve the magic that courses through our veins.

The Betrayal of Aloha

America’s Imperialistic Grip on Hawaii

The history of Hawaii is one of colonization, exploitation, and betrayal. The annexation of these islands by the United States was not only a violation of international law, but it also signaled a grave injustice against the Hawaiian people. Their lands were stolen, their language suppressed, and their cultural practices undermined. Yet, the spirit of Aloha has never wavered. It is this spirit that must guide us as we move forward.

It is time to rectify this historical injustice. By acknowledging the theft of Hawaii and the attempts to erase their culture, we can take the first step towards healing. Recognition and justice must be the foundation upon which we build a better tomorrow.

To the Hawaiian natives, this call for justice and recognition is not just about the past, but also about the present and future. It is about reclaiming your identity, your language, and your lands. It is about preserving and celebrating your unique cultural heritage. It is about demanding equal rights and representation. It is about reclaiming your rightful place as stewards of these beautiful islands.

Chapter 1: The Ancient Hawaiian Kingdom

As Hawaiian natives, it is essential for us to understand our roots and the rich history of our people. The origins of the Hawaiian people can be traced back thousands of years, and it is a story that deserves to be celebrated and shared. In the face of American imperialism and the forced attempts to erase our culture, it becomes even more crucial to reconnect with our heritage.

To truly comprehend the origins of the Hawaiian people, we must delve into the ancient Polynesian migration. Over 1,500 years ago, brave seafarers embarked on an extraordinary voyage across vast oceans, eventually reaching the isolated islands of Hawaii. These intrepid explorers brought with them their unique customs, traditions, and language, which would lay the foundation for the vibrant Hawaiian culture we cherish today.

The Hawaiian people flourished in their newfound homes, developing a deep connection with the land and the surrounding ocean. They cultivated taro, sweet potatoes, and other crops, creating a sustainable agricultural system that sustained their communities. Fishing became an integral part of their lives, with the ocean providing an abundance of resources and inspiration for ancient Hawaiian legends and folklore.

Centuries passed, and the Hawaiian people evolved their own distinct societal structure. Chiefs, known as ali’i, governed various regions, ensuring harmony and prosperity. The concept of ‘ohana, or family, was deeply ingrained in Hawaiian society, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation. Music, dance, and storytelling were used to pass down ancestral knowledge and preserve the cultural identity of the Hawaiian people.

However, the arrival of American imperialism in the late 19th century disrupted this harmonious existence. The theft of Hawaii by the United States and subsequent attempts to erase our culture are painful chapters in our history. The colonization efforts aimed to suppress our language, traditions, and land rights, threatening the very essence of what it means to be Hawaiian.

Today, as we explore the origins of the Hawaiian people, it is crucial to reclaim our heritage and resist the erasure of our culture. By acknowledging and celebrating our roots, we can revive traditional practices, preserve our language, and ensure future generations understand our identity and the struggles we have faced.

The origins of the Hawaiian people are deeply intertwined with the ancient Polynesian migration and the subsequent flourishing of a unique culture on the isolated islands. Despite the challenges brought forth by American imperialism and attempts to erase our heritage, it is our duty as Hawaiian natives to reclaim our history, preserve our culture, and pass it on to generations to come.
